    This is partially why I love The Force Unleashed and Jedi Academy. Yes Galen is OP as Hell but, he and Jaden both managed to find balance and as result exceeded the potential of their peers. Even Luke used aspects of the dark side, he force choked a Gamorrean in ROTJ.

    I have always thought that Grand Master Luke of Legends became A Jedai rather than a Jedi. He used light and dark, he accepted both with in the force and more importantly with in himself. He encouraged his students to do the same. He didn’t try to be unemotional, disconnected because it was this disconnect that Master Mundi and even Yoda held so tightly that eroded and destoryed the Jedi. I believe that the real scism of the Jedai was a slow acting. As they studied and became monks they began to disconnect from emotion and others. This led to an inability to handle emotions, this led to fear, to hatred, to Sith. Jacen Solo was able to go both ways because of his Uncle but lost his way. It is in this that all are wrong. To Balance the force one must balance oneself. There is no ignorance only knowlege, there is fear, there is Love, there is power, there is weakness, all are one, there is no light, there is no darkness, there is the force, there is Balance.

      Every word you just said is wrong.

      "There is no gray area Ben,we walk the path of the light or we fall into Darkness"

    Great breakdown. I think the modern code is misunderstood. Fro example: it’s not saying “no emotion, only peace”; it’s saying if you can REGULATE your emotions (NOT repress them), then you will find peace.
    I think as the Jedi grew in the high republic the true messages were lost.
    Great breakdown. Qui Gon was a legend.

    Just as time changes and things evolve I believe the first Jedi did the same. There's always a use for different types of knowledge and ideologies in any given time, however if they didn't evolve and change this would've led to completely different paths and ultimately a different course of how the galaxy would've become. I personally view the first Jedi code to be more of a stronger type of Jedi ideology than the more passive view we get from all the movies.
    I believe from this perspective had the Jedi kept this view they would've handled certain threats probably quicker than waiting til they had to interfere, however I think it would depend on any individual said Jedi to be able to be strong enough to not use their power over fear and also think more jedi would be prone to be seduced to the dark side because of this view in their code. While yes they would be stronger users of the force more Jedi wouldn't be strong enough I believe to temper that strength in times of fear to be able to not succumb to the dark. "There is no fear, there is power..." this one line in the original code would be that tightrope balance for those jedi not mentally strong enough.
    I would love to see this original code be implemented in a vision of some sort later on where we get a holocron viewing from Luke or some shit where it showed of a time if the Jedi kept their original stance how different the galaxy would've been shaped with this view and influence. Would be neat. Fantastic video!! 🙌
    What do you guys think?!

    • @liborohanka5010
      @liborohanka5010 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, I would love to see it too.
      If I understand it right, because original Jedi started to interfere with Galaxy too much and get into conflicts etc., they have more chances to experience fear. These who couldn't control their fear easier fallen from balance and become pure dark side users. So they modified their code to be more light focused to deal with this problem. Again, they acted in fear of darkness (which was against code). Basically they failed overcome fear and because of it they fallen into dark or light. They abandoned balance for harmony (or chaos in case of dark side users).

    I always figured the Jedi code was just poorly worded. I interpret it as;
    "Act not with emotion but with peace,
    Eliminate ignorance with knowledge,
    Immerse not in Passion but in Serenity,
    Create not Chaos but Harmony,
    And mourn not death, but be made one with the Force."

      I had a similar belief that the Code was poorly worded, and filled the space by adding "When there is" at the beginning of every line. "When there is no Emotion, there is Peace", etc. My intent was to imply that the practitioner must bring the values themself and that when one prioritizes the "right" values, the "wrong" ones have no room to misguide or deceive, but that there is no complete removal of the "wrong" values either.
      The last line I replaced entirely: "When death comes, so too does the Force."
      I'm glad I saw your comment, I like that I can compare notes with someone else who came to the same conclusion.

    The Living Force is what the Jedi should have served, unbiased from the light or the dark but still in line with Laws of Morality, they should have been constantly reminded of the code, so that none would have ever lost sight of the original way. Personally I do believe the Jedi order was wrong to abandon the ancient Jedaii order code, and the way they use to strive for balance in the Force. The Jedaii order lasted for many thousands of years without conflict. The Jedi order could barely go a few hundred years without getting involved in a war (either with themselves, the Sith, or on behalf of the Republic). It took the outside interference of the Rekkata Empire attacking the Jedaii order that eventually lead to their downfall. The Jedi being out of balance with the Force and their dogmatic narrow views lead to their downfall.

  • @nategraham6946

    The Bogan in and of itself is not the problem, it is taking it without the proper amount of Ashla. The problem is when they abandoned the Bendu, the middle, proper balance, in either way. Just like a scale, if too much of one side is present, it tips and causes chaos.

    • @eds1942
      @eds1942 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. That’s not the problem. We have long had disciplines and religious philosophies built on that concept. The problem is power without checks and balances. They have power, the overwhelming majority of others do not. You start to believe that since you have it and others do not, that you are more deserving than others. That you should be able to make the rules. That everything should adapt and yield to you and your desires. That you should be treated as kings and gods. And that mindset led to the second schism.without some kind of code or system or buddy to keep you from acting out of impulse or selfishness and without the possibility of repercussions, it eventually becomes easier and easier to give into our darker nature or make a big mess of things or turn a blind eye to it.
      I hate to borrow this quote but; “with great power, comes great responsibility.”

    I would says yes, the Jedi (and by extension the Sith) are wrong. Balance and harmony between the Light and Dark sides is key, which is a lesson Typhon itself teaches and heavily incentivizes. Not to mention the universe at larges seems to push that as well with whenever a side is dominate in the galaxy it will start pushing the other side to counter. Plus best case scenario you're cutting your own potential in half by strictly adhering to only one side.

    I always hated the idea that you had to be completely good to be a Jedi and completely bad to be a Sith. The force doesn’t care about the Jedi or the Sith, it just exists as is. I think the brother and sister both demonstrated that fairly well. Just because you use the dark side doesn’t mean you are innately evil, the same goes for how using the light side doesn’t make you innately benevolent. It’s not really clear cut in my opinion, there is no true black and white when it comes to it.

  • @SundayTopper

    As far as I'm concerned extremism to either side is failure.
    The modern code of the Jedi can breed a cold-heart, the modern code of the Sith will see one lost to wild passions.
    It's only when you acknowledge both Light and Dark that you can truly live.
    In a land of eternal calm Light you have a desert.
    In a land of eternal Dark storms you have a churning ocean.
    Both are hostile to Life and will keep it from finding it's footing. It's only when we step into the shade, with Light and Dark, do we live.

    I enjoy your content and general presentation.
    But people know how the subscribe button works. You don't have to have to drone on about it. That is why I unsubscribed, but still listen. And why I never subscribed to my favorite WH40K channel.
    Anything more than "if you enjoy this kind of video, please force crush the subscribe button." At the end of the video is redundant and annoying.
    That's my only constructive criticism....

    I think in this the Star Wars Universe, balance was always key. Not so much in real life, because there are always absolutes in life. Even how our morality is formed based on "the light side" more so justice than vengence. In real life, we look down upon acts of evil as it is morally wrong.

      You haven't read nearly enough history if you genuinely think there's such a thing as absolute good or evil in real life - there very rarely is.

      @@Thuazabi isnt murder (killing someone unlawfuly) an absolutely evil/bad thing to do? Is robbing someone not absolutely evil? i mean our basic common sense of what is good and bad are absolute, no? Isnt the mere words "good and evil" absolute? what are not absolutes? It's only recently that people are trying to tell us that nothing is absolute. Like Biological sex is absolutely male and female. and then gender is whatever society/individual dictates. And these are not rare from where I read history.
