Amb, your podcast to converse on national issues, is commended.
Yet, this particular one, is not a conversation, it's an acquiescence. To me, the deck appears stacked. You and your guest, the inimitable, highly distinguished and accomplished SC Sangwa, are playing tag. You feed him your point of view, and he simply expands on it. You appear to be in agreement, through and through. A conversation is 2 or more people talking from their point of view. Not a continuous acquiesce of common ground. Your podcast is called, "The Conversation Podcast". Give us a conversation. A critical, objective conversation.
Still, Zambia needs a fora like this, to air and explore the zeitgeist of our times.
    Well done..

Yeah, it did give off that vibe.
In my opinion, it would be great for the host to ask a question, and let the guest, answer it themselves.

SC, you make very good points as always. However, l have seen a contradiction in your presentation. At one point you say government is responsible for feeding it's people.
Later on you talk about how we behave like subjects when we should behave like citizens. You then tell us how citizens take responsibility...
Citizens should take responsibility for feeding their families, not government. Why should government feed Mikalile? He can feed his family. Same for Mathani, O'Donnell and Kavindele, to mention but a few.
Government only steps in to help the vulnerable.
Your criticism is therefore laced with malice.

He can't make a good president. Remember the case of Tony Blair when he was prime minister the economy of UK was doing well because the finance minister was performing, but when the same finance minister became prime minister, the economy of UK had issues. What we need to understand is that we have different gifts. Sangwa is gifted in that way, and it calls for the wise to listen and implement the wisdom.

The issue of the amendment has been done a mishandled. The president’s remarks did not stop at the mention of a "lacuna"-he also referenced "oversights" and "omissions." Yet, these critical points have not been discussed. Why? Furthermore, the president campaigned on amending the constitution and therefore has the mandate from the country to implement these changes. Mr. Sangwa, has done a disservice to himself by resorting to ad hominem arguments. He should have maintained a fact-based approach to the matter at hand.

It's frustrating to see how contentious constitutional amendments are in Africa today. In this modern age, these discussions should be straightforward and collaborative. Instead, we’re caught in petty debates that hold us back. This document is meant for everyone-why not propose amendments instead of blocking progress? It’s time to move past this constitutional nonsense once and for all. You, John, and LAZ should focus on putting forward your suggestions for improvement.

I was hesitant to respond because your comment seemed overly partisan, which is precisely why Zambia struggles to move forward. We should focus on constructive dialogue, rather than arguing for its own sake. While political parties may come and go, our citizenship remains constant. A leader like Edgar Lungu, who has been accused of authoritarian tendencies, nearly exploited our constitution's weaknesses.

@@mulengamapachi6710 you are the one that is exactly how you want to paint me.
No thank you. Hold and point your guns elsewhere. Listen to SC J Sangwa clearly pointing at gone president’s errors. People who fear identifying with wrongs don’t succeed . One needs to come to a place of admitting errors and apologise, costly as those errors may be.
What do you think of a person who claims to be a well educated economist, advises President FTJC on privatising industry built and nationalised by KK who never saw a University Lecture Room, instead of saying please do not sell these companies, our next generation who will fall under my presidency won’t have jobs, I will not be able to create any?
Then The same person stands up and tells you he is your president, of course through the ballot and you vote for him. He hasn’t been able to put across any job creation FORMULAR!!!!, the electricity distribution failure in the country leads to closure of small scale business, and you go out trumpeting that it’s ECL that destroyed your economy, who has really damaged your economy?
Leave out the drought for the president himself challenged ECL, that drought isn’t the problem.
You are indeed partisan yourself in your not seeing how the gvt you are defending has failed you.
Listen to SC J SANGWA, he hasn’t swept any bit of dust under any thick or finished carpet.
What do you want to hear?
Someone promised to fix the economy, why shield him when he fails and start pointing at whoever is believed to have damaged your economy?
Look, there was no definition of any kind on how the economy must be damaged or not to be fixed by whoever promised to. His promise was an open cheque, so let him fix it. PRAISE SHALL BE ON HIS SHOULDERS FROM YOU HIS SUPPORTERS.
      Be Blessed.

I still stand by the fact that this is a p.f podcast and it can never be fair or impartial! The institutions in 2016 were controlled by p.f mr sangwa thats why we never saw any p.f member get arrested or charged even if they committed blatant crimes, you saw j,j banda walk in central police to brutalize police in broad day light but nothing happened to him instead the head of police was fired for pursuing him! So you wanted p.f aligned judges and electoral commission officers to remain in those offices so they could undermine the current government and favour the previous, that would have been incredibly stupid for this government to do. P f even infiltrated and had corrupted the church isnt this evident we are now seeing so called men of the cloth received procceeds of crime so for me this talk of the constitution and impartiality doesnt feel like its coming from a genuine place from state council. No one can allow HH to be president for 9 year not even himself

Appointing Chipenzi or Mitti, what does the law say? Sangwa's rant should be about mending loopholes in the Constitution to make sure the procedure and who is appointed is credible and in fulfilment of the law. Is it UPND that has brought the procedures of appointing constitutional officers?. Sangwa Should attack strictly on the point of law not how the appointing ought to have been done.
