Indeed! Black folks globally have become consumers of white status symbols such as commodified products that are highly associated with our desire to have proximity to whiteness. Thus, our inability to go inward and create for us and by us in the socioeconomic and sociopolitical spaces!

going to watch this 10 more times, and get my sister, brother, mother, farther , relatives and friends to watch this. Our people need to be conscientised and made to understand that this situation the black man /child finds themselves in in this country is not normal. i also feel the line the advocate added there when he said " the black child cannot see beyond just employment as he/she sees himself as a worker" hit me the hardest. Those who operate in the middle class believe they have risen above the struggle of the black child yet they neglect to understand that even in those offices it sits with them and will consistently affect them as the system was designed to keep a certain group in power while we settle for crumbs. Most of all our people , especially those of means should definitely take cognizance of the advocates words " you will never be free until all of us are free"
Yeah, but you misconceive the word ALL. It does not mean BLACK. Apartheid was a despicable system that deprived blacks of being treated as equals. However, 'victimhood' deprives you of BEING EQUAL; irrespective of how you are treated. APARTHEID IS DEAD, LONG LIVE APARTHEID is the cry of every person who rejects equality and freedom for ALL.
'Economic freedom' is a lie that is used by the wealthy to manipulate and control the masses. Freedom cannot be bought, it lives in the spirit of TRUTH, LOVE AND BROTHERHOOD.

That statement is true if we are foolish enough to believe it. If we were to truly understand the POWER of the Constitution and the law, then we would realise that they allows us to end the political domination of the corrupt - including the judiciary.

You can go to Orania nobody can prevent you from going there. You will have to identify yourself at the gate like ALL other security complexes and also be invited by somebody living there. If that is racism then all other complexes is "racist" even those in black areas.

Both Monasteries and Orania segregate themselves, Orania Citizens cannot even be accused of labour misdemeanours, not against Black People anyway, simply because they employ their own or do what needs to be done themselves. Homelands cosmetically renamed TRUSTLands suck Tax funds from SARS to pay Traditional Leaders, Orania PAYS more to SARS than TrustLands do and they don't demand SA Tax Monies in exchange for votes for the ANC.

Watch how violent crimes are going to increase with the economy being in recession. We saw this during lock down & the July unrest we have plenty of examples to draw lessons from both in the present & the past, both locally and internationally.

You’re at school to get a job.
No one can teach you how to think. The way you think is formed by your background. Your mind is formed by gathering information from first parents, then the bigger circle of the community. No teacher can teach you how to think. I guess you mean critical thinking - that's a skill that's developed. If you don't read as a child, don't play with toys that develop your brain, then how is a teacher going to make you think? If you don't value logic and facts over emotions, then there's no critical thinking.

Confession, I am so ashamed that I just did not like this gentleman because of how the media reports had portrayed him. Watching this and listening to the points made, I can't help but feel a deep sense of sadness and conviction at how we get so easily swayed by the perception created by the media due to their dominance. The same applies to a certain President, liking him (for no reason) was forced down our throats by the media and now its seems like has not surpassed his predecessor as we were made to believe. Its a pity a person of his calibre never makes headlines because of the threat he poses to the establishment. This discussion reminds me of the phrase "Choice is an illusion, created between those with power, and those without." uttered by the Merovingian in The Matrix trilogy.
We Black South Africans, we are caught up The Matrix and have been since the Genesis of this so-called "miracle country with the best constitution in the world". Which oddly enough, no country is lining up to learn and adopt its best practices.

This is one of old people we need in our SA Parliament.
Their all old anyway, the problem is, money and power corrupts. And one man cannot make change, as entire parties already call out the government on its bullshit, takes them to court and yet still nothing changes. Sorry to say but this guy would be just as powerless despite what he says.

I appreciate hearing all the uncomfortable truths that this courageous Advocate shared. Though the content/ his narrative was SA specific, all that was said can be easily applied to wherever black folks are as the white power structure is a global phenomenon. As I live in the states, I can see that there are parallels between the US post segregation in the late 1950’s to mid-1960’s vis-a-vis the African American community and SA post-Apartheid and now the new Apartheid in your words Sizwe.
I learned so much during this thought provoking interview and was wondering if you, Sizwe were prepared to hear the extent of the radical and revolutionary nature of his content. We, as black folks, wherever we are, need to come to terms to the fact that we (often if not consistently) behave in ways that are very destructive to ourselves for short term gains rather than thinking of acting in ways of building wealth intergenerationally for those yet to be born.
While watching this interview, I kept juxtaposing an interview heard yesterday done by Penuel with Mandisa Mashego where she also spoke about the dysfunctionality of the 3 branches of SA’s government as well as the generational Karma of low self esteem of black men as co-factors hindering their ability to govern. Again, this inability to rule and create infrastructures by black men for the benefit of the race is not SA specific but a global concern post colonization/slavery up to this post-modernistic age.
The Advocate’s narrative was effectively a psychological diagnosis or assessment of our people as well which is well deserved if we ought to deprogram ourselves of our internalized oppression.
At any rate, was thinking that it would be a dynamic exchange to have this Advocate in conversation with Mandisa Mashego on your platform. It would be iconic!
Would like to expand further on the rewriting of the SA constitution as well as the resignation of the 3 branches of government as, again, these ideas have broad global implications for our race wherever we are.

There's also Judge President John Hlophe who is the most hated lawyer in SA because of his stance on racism. Sikhakhane and Hlophe are at their own level of thinking. Please search him and start listening to his interviews. He doesn't have maybe he has one with Insight Factor because no one wants to the uncomfortable truth
