I don’t really know if you can compare a regular Halo Marine to an Onyx Guard. Either ODST (may be the wrong one I’m thinking of) with Onyx, or a regular Gear with a marine.
The COG were just efficient soldiers it seems. Even with all the weapon diversity and monsters on the locust side they still didn’t push through. Very impressive
What I like about this is that it implies the standard COG trooper is more than a match and could even outdo the Locusts. However, the problem lies in the fact that they loose in the long run because they can't sustain the losses. Normally, we see the regular Gears get wrecked alot and their corpses everywhere.
These guys aren't standard and yes, the COG trooper and Locust drone are supposed to be equal. COG grunts even the lower(in general) strength and durability with superior equipment and training.
Ah yes! The Onyx Guard been what they allways should be. The only thing that could make this even better is that there were no main characters at all. No Deltas, no mains. Just Gears and Onyxs standing agains the enemys.
I swear, if Netflix's live action ain't reassembling anything close this master piece of a A.I battle you've created, then I don't want to know. This was off the chain and makes me wish there was a huge battle on this scale in the actual games.

We would get to the part with onyx guards and then only pick savage grunts, then we would only use the retro-charge with their retro lancer. It was so funny when we'd charge one and then get quadruple chainsawed by his friends XD. Man... being able to mess around like that was great looking back.
Excellent work. The COG usually underestimate the locust adaptiveness, the locust tend to forget about how aggressive the COG can get. As seen, they are attacking a locust base and won, overcoming the savage locust makeshift and jury rigged weapons.
I'm afraid not, if you ask me, because this is a PC Build version of Gears of War 3 for the PC, which has console commands. And unfortunately Gears 1 PC doesn't let you summon ai.
I remember that Game Informer mentioned Gears 2 and Judgement were supposed to have lots of moments like this NPC battle; where you the player would decide the fate of the overall battle itself. There were supposed to be these "Lord of the Rings" sized engagements where you were the center of the battle. Unfortunately they couldn't bring the game up to that level; which would have been absolutely amazing. You only see large fights like this a couple times in Gears 2; and maybe once in Judgement. Man how i do miss playing this game. [Edit] There are a few large scale battles in Gears Tactics between NPCs but that is not real time strategy; thats turn based. Not quite as cinematic as this video shows it can be.
You really gotta love these GOW 3 NPC matches, FIGHT ME, but the ai in this game is very smart. Also, more lambent please, i just really love the yellow explosions XD
Now just imagine a game where we get to partake in such battles like in an RTS would be amazing in my opinion I loved tactics it’s but I would like to see one getting to command an army in charge of the defense of a city and just stuff like that would be cool in my opinion
wow, its almost like the Cog should deploy entire platoons into a battlefield instead of groups of four into hot zones that will eventually have to fight off hordes of locust. or just make everyone take off their helmet and give them actual names, that way their survival goes from 1% to at least 80%. there's some exceptions like C. carmine (helmet), or minh(no helmet).

The COG troops function as real life squads and frequently use cover whenever they want while covering each other’s back while advancing to their position. The Locust are like the COG in someways but will mostly use either shear numbers or brute strength when the enemy is unaware where they are until it’s too late.
It almost feels like a coincidence how the arid environment is similar to the previous video with the ODST fight. I can imagine that both battles are taking place at the same time and are not too far from each other 😂
Man, these games were made for there to be huge battles like this. It's just a shame that it was never fully realized like it was meant to be; due to the game being so focused on that squad based combat. Would it have been better if there were more battles in the form of the one depicted here? Who's to say.

Looks like the Gears2 Assault promised by President Prescott but he couldnt count on an Army of Elite troups as the Onyx', thats also why we barely see them (most appears and got slaughterd when we play as General Raam during the period of the E-Day.) Is there any chance to use the IA Model of a King raven to support them in battle? Like the ones in the story mode or the flying one in gears multiplayer. Some Troikas and the Armored Suits would be awesome too!!
I like your videos I don't know if you could do more gears of war fights but that the bots have different weapons and that they are other parts of the campaign
