So many people bought a Grand Design thinking they were different, better than the other RV's. It's just high priced garbage. Kudos to you Ca. RV for offering repair of a poor design.

We’re finding mold behind and beneath the walls and floors. That’s a big reason to address the problem. Certainly, making sure the unit doesn’t leak again is a big priority but no one can guarantee that it never happens again.

Can delamination be caused by excessive heat? I'm considering purchasing a 2014 Heartland Landmark San Antonio that has primarily been kept in southwest florida. There is delamination on one side and I was told that it was caused from excessive heat. The roof was replaced approximately one year ago. I was told to walk away from this. Should I?

We bought our second RV at Best RV in Turlock CA. This exact thing happened to our second RV just a few months after we purchased it, but Best RV would do nothing to fix nor even look at it for us. I am highly disappointed.

Seems like most rvs are poorly constructed to begin with,I’ve been maintaining and chasing leaks in all my rvs since purchasing as have my rv buddies,we live in NW constantly raining so it’s extra tough,I think metal siding is way easier to fix ,doesn’t look as nice but unless it’s an airstream or atc trailer it will leak eventually,even if you are constantly on top of it

Aluminum trailers are much more forgiving! As long as you don’t need it to be 4 seasons ….

There are so many seals on an rv. I am constantly looking at mine, but being a tall fifth wheel, it is very difficult to see some areas. I recently examined the rear drivers side cap, roof, side wall corner and discovered a hole where there was no sealant! So glad I live in S Ca where there isn’t much rain. I sealed it but now I’m concerned that there may be other areas I haven’t properly inspected. Do you believe it is worth while to have a dealership inspect your RV, or should I trust a repair facility?

Thanks for the question, Terry. Whether it's a dealership or strictly a repair facility you will want somebody to inspect it - especially if there are areas that you can't see if you don't have a tall enough ladder/scaffolding.
