As a new owner of this handgun I have to say yours is one of the best vids I’ve seen on it. To be honest I didn’t know much about it when I bought it. I was shopping for a .45 and fell in love with it on first sight. Glad I made the purchase. It’s my favorite firearm I own.
You are wise in your decision to purchase this 45. It should serve you well. I love mine...
I have the regular model, probably 1 of my favorite pistols ever! 15 rounds double stacked and the grip is surprisingly not so chunky like others that hold less. Never had any problems in almost 1,000 rounds, different types, weights, fmj, jhp, all performed flawlessly! Easy to take down and clean, accurate, the military really overlooked this one!

Hey Norman!! This old Viet-Nam Vet wants to say thank you! I'd heard of the FNX-45 before but hearing you say it's the perfect weapon if you have to go to hell and arrest the devil AND bring him back for trial......I had to have me one.. I got it yesterday from Cabela's, they had it on sale for 900!!I have a USP with a Viper but this time I'm going GREEN...My Holosun will be here in a few days.

@@G-Lover1 bought mine at bass pro lol. I got a $100 discount but that's about it. Yeah there's nothing like this 45 it deserves the love it gets even though I still can't get a full 15 in the mag.

I am of the same opinion and just did the exact same thing. I LOVE my 1911 TRP Tactical w/ custom fitted Jarvis threaded barrel but my goodness once I saw one of these in the wild and found out it held 15 rounds of 45 I just had to have it. I’m now an FN fan boy and honestly it prints about the same as my 1911 with fat grips (I’ve got XL hands). I’ll be getting a SCAR 17S in FDE next so the battle kit will be complete.
I have always loved handguns with external hammers, thumb safeties, and the single/double action is one of the greatest inventions. This gun meets all my criteria, and sounds like it meets yours as well. This gun is great for close in close quarters combat, distance from behind cover, multiple target engagement, rapid fire engagements.
I once got knocked down by a wild boar hog and lost my rifle, yeah, I know ain't worth a shit without firepower, but I managed to draw and drop a two hundred ninety pound boar before he could could hit me again. Have I mentioned how much I love this pistol?
I was fortunate I wasn't badly injured just bruises and a terribly hurt ego for letting that sucker get that close to me before I realized it. God bless the FNX .45 Tactical.

Just picked one up that came with 5 × 15rnd magazines and backstrap kit. Awesome stuff.
My biggest advice regarding this gun is to ONLY buy it without any bundled optics.
I got the model bundled with the Voice Vortex Viper and in doing so they don’t provide any optics mounting plates. There are no locking lugs when you direct mount an optic to this gun.
Then, one day when your Viper dies, Vortex will replace it with their newer Defender series, which will also not mount correctly given the screw type (#5-40).
You will ultimately have to buy the optics plates separately at $75 each (delivered) just to mount an RMR footprint optic which lets you use a much more common (#6-32) screw.
I’m still waiting on my plate to arrive, and once it does, I can put a proper optic on it.

I sent mine in for the conversion to 460 Rowland, now it's a beast! I use it in a chest rig for backpacking, but can easily change the spring and take off the compensator to shoot 45 at the range.

Try ANR holsters. They're super nice. I have an OWB and IWB for my sig 1911 with a light. One of the few companies that offer that. Great build and retention is great
I got mine converted to 460 Rowland. It still shoots .45acp but the 460 is a lot more powerful. Combining that with the high capacity it's one of my favorites.
Is it still working out for you with the Rowland conversion?
@@phillhuddleston9445 I love it. It doesn't necessarily like to cycle 45's now but I think it might be the stronger magazine springs. The 460's are crazy fun & very accurate!

I just put an FNX45 tactical on layaway, which is new to me, and I can't wait to pay it all off.
Also, T5 custom kydex is awesome.
Love this pistol. Recently got one finally, and it's my first "big" .45 after selling my H&K Mk23 some years back. It's better in every way than the H&K in terms of practicality, size, mag capacity, price, optic ready, and light/laser combos are much cheaper than the Mk23's LAM. Although, I will say the Mk23 beats it out in accuracy, when it come to engaging threats, you don't need something that is essentially a nail driver, you can have a little wiggle room in accuracy and still reliably hit a "long range" shot for a pistol.

I have the FN 509C Tactical outfitted with a Votex Venom 6MOA and the Olight mini valkyrie 2. Now I have to get this for my collection. Great work and love the explanation and system process you talk through.

odin holsters , custom made it’s pretty solid and there’s a lot of different options for owb and conceal. They might of added accessories u can add on like a strap on the back to hold the gun in place. Different mounting systems as well for 35rdi, molle....

I got the Trijicon for Christmas to replace the cheap RMR that is currently on it. I got the leg holster to carry this pistol with in case the stuff hits the fan! My FNX is one of my pride and joys. It is not a new firearm, it has been around long enough to have holsters available, BUT nobody is making holsters for it, WHY?

I don't know if you've found a holster yet or not, but Mckinnitec holsters has them available for this. I have holsters from them for several of my guns, and they're one of my favorite holster makers.

The one thing I will do if I ever get another FNX-45 (mine was stolen) is have a gunsmith install something to block the decocker on the safety. Because while it's safe to run locked and cocked, the last thing you want to do is pull the safety down too far and decock.

@@BlackBeard287 I wish I could Mr. Smith. Unfortunately, thanks to New York state and some stupidity of mine when I was 16, it took a bit longer than usual for the background check. They ended up putting it back in stock and by the time I was approved, they didn't have any more and didn't know when they were going to get them in. By that time I was pretty impatient, so I ended up getting a Springfield Armory Saint Victor .300 Blkout pistol, and latter on I picked up a S&W MP 2.0 9mm full size in FDE. Pretty happy with both but still a tinge of regret I didn't get the FN. Thanks for asking though.

Beautiful rig!! Saving up for mine too. I had the regular fnx 45 but traded it for my FN15 rifle, a move I don't regret but I do miss her nonetheless. Had the fnx 9 for several years and she gave me no grief at all. If you were to blindfold me, I would be able to tell the 9 and 45 models apart from a recoil standpoint.

Note that you can get +2 baseplates from Apex Tactical and ProMag sells a 20 round magazine.

Norm baby good job, god bless is the gun now PVD slide coated over the older ones with cerekotes or like the 509 tactical has now bidding on one with the optic on Gunbroker. Have to get that light from olight although I think it’s limited, huge olight fan best lights for quality and money.

Did you know that you can convert these to fire .460 Rowland? It has ballistics properties on par with .44 magnum, so you can effectively turn this pistol into a tactical hand cannon.

Absolutely Sir! It is a very underrated Weapons system. I just wish they made more holster configurations for it....
Aaron Holden Crossbreed was the first place I went (as always) when I got this. They always seem to have a holster for every gun lol.
Technically it's silencer, that's what Maxim patent it as and that's what the ATF technically refers to them as. But suppressor is just the nickname.
I'm sure that you've already found something for that fine firearm, but ANR Design has a kydex holster made for a FNX 45 Tactical lightbearing rmr setup.
