The FNX-45T is my all time favorite .45
I love mine as well
Mines too
You have some of the most closely aligning opinions to me on taste in firearms that I've found on TH-cam, always appreciate seeing your channel pop up when I'm researching. Great stuff!
Well, my current brand new FN FNX 45 Tactical is just in for warranty repair due to repeated cycling malfunctions. If they get it running right I would probably still choose it over the SIG 227 (threaded barrel with suppressor sights versions ) but to be perfectly honest, I want both!
Don’t go wrong with both. My buddy had a cycling issue with his but he had a Trijicon SRO on it and it was catching the brass before it could eject all the way.
I've had three FNX's and never had an issue with any of them. Run like tops.
FNX in my night stand.
It’s in mine a lot as well
Well now this is a interesting video and a Interesting comparison. I own sigs and FN pistols. I really do like the FN tactical 45 ACP. Mine is in the FDE and it has been very reliable and accurate. I think it is a little bit pricey, but then I am still glad that I purchased one.
$1,200 choice ❓
FN polymer👎 with funky tiny 4 tabs for sorry slide holding.👎👎
SIG SAUER 👍👍 alloy frame with full length slide rails. Absolute quality simple internals shared with all their metal pistol models. Simple.👍👍👍👍👍
Nice! I always pick steel over polymer, so all things considered, it's easy for me to pick the Sig.
I liked the Sig but I didn’t shoot it anywhere near as good as the FN
As someone with normal sized hands and familiar with Sig P320 and Sig X Macro I would probably choose the Sig. also looks better
I own the standard P227, I was looking at getting the FNX but I done run a suppressor. I picked up the sig used and I’ve found the 14 round mags are pricey on the used market, $100… Yikes
Yea, Sig has always been proud of their mags
Add the Apex aluminum +2 baseplates to the *15* round FNX-45T for 17+1 in this hammer fired battle pistol.
I’ve always been leery of that. I’ve always heard of weak mag springs in the FN and the plus 2 don’t come with a new spring. So I never tried it.
@@gearrunner Bought a bunch of mags for it, put the Apex extensions on them, and have had zero issues. They are very solid.
@@patrickseaman that’s good to hear. I may have to do that now.
Two pistols ?
Both $1,200 ?
One polymer frame
Other alloy frame
One dinky 4 slide tab rails
Other FULL length slide rails
Other wins 🏆👍👍
Wow your a waayy better shot with the FNX for sure
I’d still go FN, until sig makes 17rd 45 mags which we all know they’re capable of until then the tac.45 is the superior home defense gun imo.
I agree
Gotta say 227 and i would still use my g19 gen5 as my edc go to lol
Yea, I think both of these pistols are a little big for edc use in my opinion
I own 2 of the P227, one is the bedside pistol. The other was worked over by Grey Guns.
Have fired an fnx. Not a bad gun just not my gun.
I choose the FNX 45 because I'm left handed
That’s definitely the better option for lefties
The Good Lords Caliber.
FNX all day! It can take a 460 rowland upgrade..the sig cant do any of that.
I can see daylight between the frame and slide of the FNX at about 1:09. What's up with that?
I don't know it's purpose but it shouldn't be an issue. Glocks have them and it doesn't seem to cause an issue
The FNX45 Tac. Is one of my bedside guns, a super soft shooting .45
I will have to disagree with you on the contention of sights though. Fiber optics are light years more useful than tritium lamps with ever be. You shouldn’t be firing at anyone or anything in extreme low-light / no light situations. And this is the only time where tritium is even slightly beneficial. Only other possible benefit is indexing where your firearm is facing if you don’t happen to already know this information. Fibers are more useful in a broad variety of lighting conditions, yes even low ambient artificial lighting or natural lightning. I’ve done enough courses to verify. In either situation a light is your best friend.
My only question is what happens when you FO and it’s broken and fell out?
When you FUp ?
You replace the fiber rod, how about when the night site iceatope looses it's light after a few years? You replace it.
The fiber rod is $1 and all you need is a razor blade and crack pipe lighter. Night sights? $100+ and special skill, patience, tool , good luck. Like another caller said, when it's dark outside, the night sights don't help.
get the .460 rowland conversion for .44 mag power out of a .45 ... you will NOT be disappointed!
SIG SAUER Quality
Full length slide rails
All polymer pistols have dinky tiny 4 tabs to hold the slide. That sorry design is a crime against pistolhumanity👎
We heard you the first time.
P220 Legion would be my choice.
Can’t beat a 10mm
@@gearrunner Does the 220 Legion come in 10mm? Didn't know that! I was thinkin of the .45acp version.
FNX
FNX all day.
Agreed
The FNX 45 is a 15 plus 1 mag
Anyone that's been to war knows the Sig is superior.
Chris Kyle ditched the 226 and went with a TRP Operator for his sidearm
@@gearrunner He was just a distance shooter. He didn't even really need a sidearm. Although the TRP is awesome
@@whatsup24_7 the TRP is awesome
@@gearrunner Don't talk me into getting another pistol. I just got one yesterday.
@@whatsup24_7 I’ve been buying golf clubs. Lol
Respectfully, I really hate the FN FNX 45 Tactical. The build quality feels flimsy, the grip sucks, the double action trigger is awful, and it's pricey for what it is. It's ONLY claim to fame is the 15 round capacity (which I don't care about). I MUCH PREFER my HK USP 45 Tactical. It's a superior firearm.
Respectfully, I’ve carried on duty multiple USPs. While they were fine back in the 1990s they feel outdated. Lower capacity, (which I very much care about) long trigger, proprietary rail limits accessories and overpriced. Btw was the USP in this video? You needed to interject your expert opinion? Ahhhhh. Come see me when you have carried on duty for 36 years.
I agree 100% I own two FNX 45Ts and all the USP variants and there is no comparison whatsoever. HK wins all day long. To the tool bag triggered 36 year law enforcement guy,.....Cool off bro. You are probably just mad that you have served the tyrant and traitorous system for three decades....
@@dougfinch452 The comments section is for comments. I'm sorry that I offended you with my personal opinion. I still respect your opinion, even though you had to personally attack me. I never claimed to be an "expert" I merely gave my opinion, just as many people do in order to share with others and provide a perspective that others can ingest and choose to incorporate into their decisions or not. You didn't provide an opinion on the FNX, you just choose to denigrate my opinion. BTW, I don't need 36 years of carrying to have an opinion. And, someone else with 36 years of carry experience may completely disagree with your opinion.
Now now kids play nice lol.
Easily the FN.
Performance, looks, prestige.
Clean sweep for the FN.
the fnx rounds are 15 not 14
Fnx over sig all day I have had both and had issues with every sig I have owned
