Thanks for the upload, and you are a 100% correct. Here in Norway the price difference between M1 and M2 Air is still 3-500 both new and used, so i believe you are speaking on behalf of basiclly all countrys outside of the US.
Completely agree. With m3 release, the prices dropped on m1 air. I found a 4 months old air m1 with 16gb of ram for my daughter. The performance is so well and is enough for several years for almost everyone. I still use m1 pro for my professional work and don't see any reason to upgrade, because the performance is enough.
The issue is with the soldered SSD, they have a limited lifespan, typically around 150 terabytes of written data for the 256gb air model. This means that if you write a lot of data to your SSD, such as high-definition videos or large files, it may eventually fail and then your macbook dies. so how to avoid this? you gotta buy the model with 16gb ram and 1tb ssd for longer lifespan.
With Walmart now agreeing to sell M1 MacBook Airs for $699, the life of the M1 will be longer than if Apple had just discontinued it. Apple is still building these MBA’s for Walmart so I believe its support life will be longer than past models of laptops. To me, that’s all I need to know to buy an M1 MBA in 2024. I’m getting one, regardless of base model. Once it wears out or is slow, I’ll get the next base model newest version. Never paying Apple’s ridiculous upgrade tax.
You're absolutely right. We just bought one at Costco last month for only $750 and it does all we need. It'll probably be retired this year, but hopefully Apple will come up with an entry level Air that performs at a similar level in the $600-700 range.
First of all what a great video! I'm completely agree with you! I bought a new M1 MacBook Air for replacing my old MacBook Air 2017 and it's just insane and massive how well it works and battery life is outstanding! The best bang for the buck is the base config which I'm using it for many tasks related to my masters degree such as programming a bit, sending emails, web browsing and even some photo editing.
Hello, I have been thinking about the M1 Air also upgrading from Air 2017. I do not like the limited connection ports. How about the fan not being there any over heating issues?
brother I've bought a mac last two week ago but I don't satisfied the battery backup. maximum battery backup was 10 hour when brightness was 84-85% and I wached 4 hour youtube video and some codeing and other normal things. so is it ok or I should talk to the apple care..?
@@Muhluri 🤦🏾♂️ yeah because now even the m2 is only 8gb ram. I’m a video editor and I need 16gb will the 8gb be enough if I let it swap out with the ssd?
Absolutely agree, I had a M1 Air and really want to get a M3 because I feel like it's time to upgrade. BUT when I search about it I realized it's absolutely not worth it. I check again when M3 Air released but M1 still the king in my opinion. If you don't have a M1 or M2 chip go for M3 Pro chip but you had to upgrade a little to peak performance on RAM and SSD.
Im going to buy an M1 macbook air (16/256... used but basically brand new with 98% of battery) because in my country it's the same price as a Refurbished M2 Macbook air Base (8/256)

hi, i guess there should ba a workaround regarding connecting multiple devices. On the 16" MBP M1 Pro connections to a TV/monitor 4k 120hz are not possible through HDMI 2.0 ... (newer MBP have HDMI 2.1) buuuut u can go through USB C - either a capable cable + small software tweak - or a capable cable + thunderbolt dock (is way more expensive) great vid !
I fully agree with all your arguments here. Max Tech is a great channel though, usually agree with them but here they brought up less valid arguments then they usually do.
I wouldn't go that far lol. It's more that he's incentivised to sell you new stuff because he'll make more money that way. The fact that he often does paid "reviews" tells me you can't really trust his opinion
@@Muhluri from what I've seen, he just repeats the things that other reviewers say, so he's like 99% of them. It's really difficult to find reliable reviews these days. I like NotebookCheck for example, because they actually measure things and compare them, instead of repeating empty words. It drives me crazy like, for example, reviewers keep saying that MacBook Air is only good for "simple tasks", even though today's Air is better than the Pro several years back. So according to their logic, Pro have always been useless, basically.

I hear people saying that it may happen but not many it's actually happened to.
Apparently most ssds go into a "read only" mode when they detect that failure has started. That should give you enough time to make a backup

That's never gonna happen. The MacBook air price just keeps rising

Depends on what you're doing. It only overheats when I'm doing intense gaming, streaming TH-cam at 4k, or running intense AI models
You can also get a USB-C dingle if you need more ports

is it the m1? do not update to Sonoma OS. Keep with Ventura
Do you have anything plugged into the computer?
@@rodogames726 but unfortunately I update with Sonoma

Dude you must have a good baritone singing voice.
i have a 16gb one and very happy with. I barely use cpu power, so I will upgrade when the next MacBook doubles the performance
@solomzi where can you find a 16gb ram m1 air because I can’t find one on Apple Store or anywhere?
when I bought them on istore they used to have them. i guess everyone stopped selling them when the M2 came out

Dude, you are absolutely right. The M1 Macbook Air is still an awesome laptop. Who needs to buy a new one every year? Every 5-6 years is good for me.
how did you manage to play those PS2 games on Mac? Can you make video about it? Thanks
I just downloaded aethersx2 (been renamed to nethersx2) then get a PS2 bios, then download some games and you can start playing
