Good video, but you're missing several points: I've been a Windows / Linux power user most of my life, switched to a Mac couple months ago, and to be honest I don't miss Windows. here are a couple things Mac outperforms the competition: - simplicity - ease of use - performance - stability - optimization - security although some apps are not available it depends on what field are you talking about, I'm an electric engineer and there are many professional apps that I have to run on a PC but aside of that there is no point on coming back to Windows. Well said. I also run a lot of emulators, older software, Microsoft Office, and play games too. Apple doesn't care about running older software and wants you to buy a new machine as fast as humanly possible. Microsoft better values keeping things running for a while. Newer software does not always mean better. PC's are industry standard for business computers and if you plan on using your laptop for work, a PC will likely be more on the same page of what you need at work than a Mac. The most important things I do with my computer are software synths (VST's) for my bands. Windows offers more synths, better compatibility with older ones, and you can get a decent laptop with a modern processor, and far more ram & storage for large collections of sampled sounds on a PC for a much more reasonable price. Also, there is a lot of software I use for various things that simply doesn't exist for Mac, and it won't run through Boot Camp or Parallels either. General tasks like web surfing and very basic stuff isn't going to make a big difference if you use a PC or a Mac, nor do you need a high end system on either for that. Either can do the job just fine. Ideally, make sure you have 16 gigs of ram for either. Don't believe Apple telling you 8 gigs is the same as 16 on a PC. Bottom line.....a PC is a better long term investment unless you plan on selling your computer quickly (Mac's do retain value longer). I typically buy used, but not old, laptops and used PC's that are not new, but not very old, are an incredible deal on the 2nd hand market. Decent quality video editing might take more than a run of the mill PC to compete with a Mac. And Mac's are certainly better for battery life, but I'm usually plugged in. I think people should also be aware as they're shopping, in a TH-cam video titled "Most Popular Operating Systems (Desktop & Laptops) 1978 - 2023", it shows that despite the praises of Apple silicon (M series) Mac sales have been declining for the past two years while the leader, Microsoft Windows, has been gaining in market share. PC's are here to stay. Sorry Apple.
Nothing is better value if you need to reinstall os every now and then because it freezes frequently after few years of use. A better value is something that has a very good resale value like a macbook. For sure you experience reinstalling windows because one day it decided not to turn on or maybe freezing or slow like hell. When you reinstall you are scrambling up for the license number that you might have misplaced of the windows and the applications that you need to install. Such a pain in the ass. When you havent use it for sometime it just freezes and wont boot up. Windows that that all the time. Poor quality of laptop manufacturer and bad quality materials. Macos has quirks but it just works. Its fluid, blazing fast and not even comparable in speed when compared to any windows out there. Battery is crazy 18 to 24hrs and windows? Just 2 or 3 hrs in heavy use. 😂
@@badongtagalog5737 That hasn't been that much of an issue in decades. I still use Windows XP & 7 regularly on some machines for special needs in addition to Windows 10 & 11. Battery life is generally better on Apple silicon chips, but the trade off is, your much more limited one what software your computer can even run and you'll also pay top dollar if you buy anything above the most basic models with far too little ram and drive space.
