I'm assuming I'll have to move them to another wallet if I reset the wallet? Please let me know if I can reset my cards! Thank you!
You can. And correct, move all crypto off the wallet first. Then: Go to settings, select your wallet, tap manage device, Factory Reset, follow prompts on screen and scan each card individually to reset, then set the cards up again this time using a seed phrase
@cyberscrilla And if we merged our two separate accounts into one wallet? We don't mind sharing the wallet as long as we can still somehow keep track of our seperate investments?
You don’t pay anything to receive crypto. However, you do pay a blockchain network fee anytime you transact on the blockchain (such as sending, selling, or swapping crypto). For the XRP network, the transaction cost is extremely low-around 0.00002 XRP per transaction. That said, XRP requires you to transfer a minimum of 10 XRP for most transactions, ensuring the network remains efficient and free from spam.
When entering a seed phrase from another wallet to transfer to tangem will it accept it before you add your token individually one by one. Will they all automatically transfer in?
@ thanks for responding. I guess I’m wondering if I should import my seed phrase from exodus or create a new one. And if I create a new one what happens to my exodus wallet.
Don’t import seed phrase from a hot wallet as that defeats the purpose of using a cold wallet. Nothing happens to your old wallet, it remains forever at this point. Create a new seed phrase.
Hi, great vid but need help. I got mine up and running and added the Trust wallet but my app does not show "Add new wallet" at 5:12 as I need to add my Metamask wallet.
So you already setup one wallet correct? So open up the app, tap the three dots on the right hand corner, and tap add new wallet. Then you’ll have to scan your other cards. Also, if you’re importing your hot wallet seed phrases into Tangem it defeats the purpose of using a cold storage wallet. It’s recommended to create a new seed phrase using Tangem and transfer your crypto to the new wallet.
I have the ring and cards and set up fine. However I have also set up biometrics but what would happen if I die how could my Family be able to access my account. Also what happens if you forget your pass code? Should I use biometrics and transfer to a new set of Tangem ring and cards. Is there a limit as to how many times one can try to recall the code.
Hey, just received my tangem, and now I want to add the crypto I have on my ledger to the tangem. When I setup the tangem, I don't have to create a new seed phrase, right? Just import the wallet through the seed phrase I have. Other question: I have 2 ledgers, how to put the crypto of the other wallet to tangem too? In this part, maybe I have to transfer and pay fees, no? Thanks!
You can import a seed phrase if you’d like, yes. And go get crypto from the other wallet, you’ll need to transfer it to your Tangem wallet correct. This video should help you too: th-cam.com/video/cXiT_2uOoJg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0WE3rTPhwXjAUoDJ
@@cyberscrilla So, I imported from one of my ledger (using a 24 seed phrase), and what shows on Tangem isn't the same amount as I have on that ledger. Why? The amount that shows is the first transaction of the wallet (ledger).. I have more but don't show (tangem).

Your code saved me 10% last week, thanks. As a newcomer to the crypto space, this is my first cold wallet. When I go to "Manage Tokens" how do I know what network to choose? Some say Main, BNB Smart, BNB Beacon, etc... Don't these charge fees, what's the best networks? Thank you very much for the video.
@@cyberscrilla Thanks for the reply, so if I'm using coinbase I find out the network on coinbase then choose that network on my Tangem? Thanks again...
That’s no how it works. Tangem supports thousands of cryptos across 70 blockchains, so you can literally have thousands of cryptos secured by one wallet (XRP, HBAR, ETH, BTC, SOL, PEPE, etc)
Sorry for the question. Saving your crypto on a cold wallet is not staking right? My crypto will still increase and decrease According to the market, right?
Assuming you haven’t already put crypto on the wallet, just tap the three little dots in the Tangem app, select your wallet, tap manage device, then select factory reset, make sure to scan each card. This will let you start over again. If you already transferred crypto to your wallet, make sure to transfer it off first otherwise you’ll lose all your funds since you’ll have no way to recover it.
I am new to hardware wallets and Tangem so I have couple of questions; 1. Does all outbound transactions require the card to be executed? 2. If for example I fall for a scam and I sign a transaction in a shady website giving the scammer right to drain my wallet, are those transaction will also require card confirmation? (I am not talking about the seed phrase, but just giving right with signature transaction)
Yes all transactions require you scan the physical card. BUT if you fall for a phishing scam, you sign an approval over to the scammer so they can still steal your crypto.
@@cyberscrilla It's probably best to get another wallet that never connects to anything, and use one wallet you do the transactions with and send it to the other wallet that never connects to anything. When time to sell or do transaction, send to wallet you use to connect to stuff, and do transaction with that wallet. One should always be cold cold storage.

If you create wallet with out a seed phrase can you still access all the features. Im worried about the malware comment who knows if you have it or not?
Yes you can still access all the features. Malware wouldn’t affect your Tangem wallet as the keys are stored offline on the cards in the secure element chip
Would you recommend selling on tangem if it's a crypto that isn't available on Kraken? Say it's kas for example and you don't want to send your kas back to kucoin because you don't trust kucoin, would you be better to sell into usdt on tangem and then send that to Kraken to cash out into your bank?

Hello Friends, regarding these great Tangem wallets. Does anyone ever get frustrated with the card tap process just buffering and not reading our cards? Maybe reasons of the back covering or maybe a protective case. I endure many, many times having issues for this tap process working the first few times. This concerns me giving if a situation occurs that I can't risk long periods of time to keep trying to use the key card to work. Thanks for any feedback.
@@lostsheepministry7813 I’ve never had this issue. Always make sure: 1. Your phone is up to date 2. The Tangem app is up to date 3. Hold the cards to your phone, don’t simply tap them and pull away. Hold until the process is complete
Crypto lives on the blockchain, so it’s always fluctuating. I highly recommend watching my masterclass to better help you understand how crypto and wallets work: If I Wanted to Start in Crypto in 2025, I’d Start Here [FREE COURSE] th-cam.com/video/fbut5dLecrs/w-d-xo.html

If you import your seed phrase all your assets can be accessed in whatever wallet you import it to. Crypto is t stored in a wallet. It’s stored on the blockchain. Thus, anyone who knows your seed phrase has full access/control of your crypto. I recommend you watch this video to help better understand: th-cam.com/video/zAytWdIqE1g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FWn728WhjNJt5Igl
Thanks for the vid. I’m considering the Tangem wallet and this answered some questions I had. I notice you mentioned that you prefer the Kraken exchange. Why do you prefer it over the others?
@@cyberscrilla so then obviously to withdraw into my bank account i’d have to send it back to my account then to my bank or would it be possible to send it straight from tangem to my bank account
@@cyberscrillaso then if i wanted to withdraw the crypto to my bank i would have to send it back to my brokerage account or is that possible straight from tangem
You have a couple options. Depending on the crypto, you can swap (in the Tangem app) to a stable coin like USDC and send it straight to your bank from Tangem. Or, you might be able to sell the coin straight to your bank without swapping. If you aren’t able to swap or sell the crypto you own natively in the Tangem app, then yes, you’ll need to use a centralized crypto exchange (Kraken, Gemini, Binance, etc) to sell the token and transfer to your bank
Seed phrases are generated from a predefined list of 2,048 words. Because the human brain isn't as effective at randomizing as a true random number generator, it’s not recommended to create your own seed phrase. However, if you’re looking for added security, you can create your own passphrase. A passphrase is an additional word or phrase that you choose, which is added to your randomly generated seed phrase to create a separate, "hidden" wallet.
As you did with Shib, how do you know what blockchain it is on? I pulled the coin up in CoinBase and nothing stated what chain it was on..... Could this mess up your wallet if you dont know or enter it incorrectly? Hopefully someone will/ can answer this, thanks
When crypto is on an exchange, you choose the network when you send it. So if you just tap “send” in Coinbase, it’ll let you choose the network. So just choose whichever network you want to receive it on in your wallet
im having a hard time to add networks for a token. Ex I added SOL but how to add this on ETH network. I added SUI but how can I receive SUI on ETH network instead of on SUI network. I dont see manage tokens only organize tokens. how to add other networks to a token Ive already added to the tangem app? TY!
There’s no such thing as SOL on Ethereum or SUI on Ethereum. These coins only operate on their own native network (SOL = Solana) (SUI = SUI Main) The manage tokens button is in settings: Tap the three little dots, select your wallet, select manage tokens. Then you can search for different coin and add custom ones if you tap the + button
Tangem does not have an in app browser. You can use WalletConnect in settings to connect it to websites. But remember, if you connect your cold wallet to websites, you risk exposing your wallet to online threats like phishing links and losing your crypto if you sign a malicious contract approval. So be careful
Native staking is coming to the Tangem app soon. So you could unstake your coins, transfer them to Tangem, then stake them directly in the app once this feature becomes available.
Yes and no. You need at least two cards to setup a wallet. So if you buy a 3 pack, you can really only have 1 wallet. You’d need at least 4 cards to setup 2 wallets.
It’s. BUT if you plan to setup your wallet without a seed phrase, it’s recommended to get the three pack so you have that one extra backup. But if you plan to use a seed phrase, 2 cards is fine.
Yes and no. Network fees are paid in the blockchains native currency. So if you transfer crypto on the Ethereum network, it’s paid in ETH. But if you transfer a token like PEPE that’s on Ethereum, the network fee is still ETH, not PEPE
I bought a tangem and never used it. When i got the card Im not 100% sure if i set up a seed phrase when i got the card, but i do have my access code. Is there a way to find out if i did or not? I know with cb wallet you can go check your phase
You can’t check if you have a seed phrase unfortunately. At this point, I’d restart the process. Transfer all your crypto off of Tangem, then go to settings, select your wallet, manage device, then choose factory reset and scan each card to reset your wallet. Then set it up again, this time paying attention to how you set it up. If you want to use a seed, don’t tap “create wallet” tap “other options” below that button and choose the seed phrase
Nice video! Question: Why didn’t all my coins show up when I tried to transfer from Coinbase to Tangem? It only let me send a portion of my total balance. I can still see the remaining balance on Coinbase, but I can’t transfer it to my wallet. What could be causing this?
@@OrcaTradeGuru Sounds like Coinbase might have a portion of your funds frozen. This is likely the case if you have recently purchased the crypto. If so, there should be a posted date when the rest of your balance will be available to transfer. Unfortunately, this is the downside to crypto exchanges (especially Coinbase). It has nothing to do with Tangem. Good news is once you get your crypto on your cold wallet, you don’t have to deal with this BS.
Thanks much! Would putting the cards in a cash envelope rated for fire and water cause harm to the card? It seems to have a lot of layers of silver protector within the materialed zippered envelope.
You can transfer crypto to Tangem from any wallet or exchange of your choice. All you need is your Tangem wallet’s receiving address to make the transfer.
One more question, so if I created a wallet and my phone is stolen or broken, all I need is a card and access code on my new phone? Isn’t it too less security?
How is that not enough security? It’s just as secure as requiring a seed phrase to access a wallet. It’s a user generated access code. The likelihood that someone could guess it is practically impossible assuming you create a robust code.
For those saying he talks fast, just put it on .75 speed. And it will be perfect. But serious, this is freaking TH-cam’s watch what he is doing…. Pause…… do what he said… play…. Then pause. So stupid! This was so simple because of him. Only thing. YOU HAVW TO HAVE ETH TO SEND BACK TO ANOTHER WALLET SND THE MINIMIM IS $21 to buy but it only cost 1.50 to send. Just be aware
Is this to send any crypto back? This is the confusing part for me, making sure I have the correct network, and ERC-20 tokens. Confused as to what those are and why I can’t send “ABC” to and from… A video on this would be appreciated.
@@R0n10-m3r the Ethereum network or Blockchain is what request that small fee. But in order to purchase that Ethereum on Tangem, you have to purchase a minimum of $21.50. Anything that has to be transferred or swapped and sold has to go through a network and that network charges a a fee because of the Blockchain. So on Tanya Wallet, you will need to purchase a couple dollars of Ethereum in order to sell anything and if I’m correct to buy anything as well.
No. 1. The app is open source and available on GitHub this it can be re created even if Tangem disappears. 2. If setup the wallet using a seed phrase, you can import that phrase into almost any hardware wallet to access your funds
I try to send Render from Kraken to my Tangem wallet. After I copy the address under the Render QR code and then paste it in my Tangem wallet, it writes with red letters "Please enter valid RENDER address". How can it not be valid, if I just copied it from the the Kraken?
If you’re trying to send render from Kraken to your Tangem Wallet address, then you need to copy the render address from your Tangem wallet and paste it into your Kraken account. It sounds like you’re doing it backwards.
The private key is stored offline on the secure element chip inside the card. Never is it stored on your phone or the Tangem app. This is true whether you create or import a seed phrase using Tangem.
Yes. The same way you send crypto using any wallet/exchange. Tap send on the crypto you want to send. Paste the receiving wallet public address. Enter the amount you want to send. Confirm the transaction.
@@cyberscrilla Thanks. Also, I don’t know why I can’t withdraw crypto from upholds when I got and set up the second Tangem wallet? I could withdraw from Uphold for the first Tangem ( set of 3 cards ). Please show me. Thanks
Do you have the blockchain’s native coin in it as well? You CANT send if you don’t have crypto to pay for the transaction which is likely your issue. For example, if you hold an ERC-20 token like $PEPE, but you don’t have ETH, you can’t send it because you need ETH for transactions. As far as the sell button goes, not all tokens can be sold directly through Tangem. You might have to use a decentralized exchange.
@cyberscrilla Thanks. I need a wallet that I can use with my PC so the Tangem isn't gonna work for me. Lose your phone and it turns into a huge hassel.
Please i have one question !! Why do I need to generate the phase seed option if I have my 3 cards ? Isn't Tangem cards created for this purpose? Can I know the disadvantages if I don't write down my seed phrases? Thank you.
You don’t have to generate it. But if you lose all your cards and don’t have a seed phrase, you’d lose access to your crypto forever (assuming you don’t transfer it to a new wallet before you lose all your cards)
@@cyberscrilla you advice me to generate the phase seed or just let the card do the work ? Because if you generate the phase seed manually it will become like any other hot wallet no ? What's the difference ? I'm confused... Please guide me
At 5;18 you show how to use your card or backup card to another phone if you lose or damages your phone.....But.,Can you add your card to another phone and still have it on your original phone at the same time.? Can i keep it on my phone and also put it on my sons phone if i start losing my memory so he can take over since im getting old ?
Yes you can do that. More importantly, I’d write down your seed phrase and make that available to anyone who YOU WANT to be able to access your wallet.
You can’t add the seed phrase once you’ve already setup your wallet. You’d have to do a factory reset. But if you have crypto on your wallet, you’d lose it. So you’d have to transfer it first to a new wallet, then reset Tangem, generate a wallet with a seed phrase and transfer it back. Or just buy a new Tangem wallet and use that
Yes this is common. I’m not aware of any wallet that allows you to sell directly to your bank. The process is always to send back to a centralized exchange, convert to fiat, then cash out
Hey, if I use the seed phrase option, does the second card even matter in this case? Since I can use the seed phrase to recover the wallet, why do I need a second card?
Well you need two cards minimum to setup the Tangem wallet. It’s also nice to have a backup because every time you transact you’ll have to scan a card. So if you lose one, you have a backup. BUT, to your point, if you lose all your cards, you can still recover your crypto via your seed phrase.
I'll buy with your code rn if you can answer this for me real quick. Why is this a safer place to keep your funds than coinbase? Couldnt Tangem go out of business? thanks
Coinbase and other CEXs are non custodial, meaning they are in control of your wallet as you don’t own your private key. Tangem is a self-custodial cold storage wallet. Meaning, you’re in full control of your crypto because your own the private key, and it’s kept offline so it’s more secure than a hot wallet (such as Coinbase Wallet). It doesn’t matter if Tangem goes out of business, you can still access your funds using your seed phrase on any brand of hardware wallet. @cyberscrilla And if we merged our two separate accounts into one wallet? We don't mind sharing the wallet as long as we can still somehow keep track of our seperate investments?
How much fees you must pay in case to receive xrp for example?
You don’t pay anything to receive crypto. However, you do pay a blockchain network fee anytime you transact on the blockchain (such as sending, selling, or swapping crypto).
For the XRP network, the transaction cost is extremely low-around 0.00002 XRP per transaction.
That said, XRP requires you to transfer a minimum of 10 XRP for most transactions, ensuring the network remains efficient and free from spam.

If I have an exodus wallet already how should I go about setting up this new wallet?
Literally just follow the steps from this video.
Exodus is a hot wallet. Not a good place for storing crypto.
@ thank you subbed
However I have also set up biometrics but what would happen if I die how could my

When I go to "Manage Tokens" how do I know what network to choose? Some say Main, BNB Smart, BNB Beacon, etc...

But how do you know what network? Many people on this thread are asking this question.

That’s no how it works. Tangem supports thousands of cryptos across 70 blockchains, so you can literally have thousands of cryptos secured by one wallet (XRP, HBAR, ETH, BTC, SOL, PEPE, etc)

Excellent. Super easy to factory reset then using the steps I provided. Lmk if you have any questions
I am new to hardware wallets and Tangem so I have couple of questions;

Can u add 6 cars total as a back up? Or only 3?
3 total. But if you choose the seed phrase option you really have unlimited backups assuming you keep your seed phrase safe 😉
Can you create your own personal seed phrase or does it have to be generated?
Thank You.
Ok thank you for answering. I appreciate it
Anytime Daniela!
Can you generate the seed phrase at a later stage - like change of mind ? Is it better or card only option is better?
No. Anytime you generate a new seed phrase or private key, you create a new wallet.
How come it will only transfer part of what I hold on robinhood?
im having a hard time to add networks for a token. Ex I added SOL but how to add this on ETH network. I added SUI but how can I receive SUI on ETH network instead of on SUI network. I dont see manage tokens only organize tokens. how to add other networks to a token Ive already added to the tangem app? TY!
yes I know this sounds total noob question. Another: Does Tangem have an app only, no web browser in which to manage assets?
There’s no such thing as SOL on Ethereum or SUI on Ethereum. These coins only operate on their own native network (SOL = Solana) (SUI = SUI Main)
The manage tokens button is in settings:
Tap the three little dots, select your wallet, select manage tokens.

Yes and no. You need at least two cards to setup a wallet. So if you buy a 3 pack, you can really only have 1 wallet. You’d need at least 4 cards to setup 2 wallets.
@@cyberscrilla thanks for the quick response. So i guess the 2-card buying option is just right.

But if you plan to use a seed phrase, 2 cards is fine.
Are the fees for transferring each coin from the exchange to the wallet taken out of the coin you are transferring?
Yes and no. Network fees are paid in the blockchains native currency. So if you transfer crypto on the Ethereum network, it’s paid in ETH. But if you transfer a token like PEPE that’s on Ethereum, the network fee is still ETH, not PEPE
why cant i add another card after adding? isnt it the same as losing the card and restore the coins on another?

Any way of transferring from a laptop to the card using the phone or do I also need the exchange on my phone as an app

@@R0n10-m3r the Ethereum network or Blockchain is what request that small fee. But in order to purchase that Ethereum on Tangem, you have to purchase a minimum of $21.50. So on Tanya Wallet, you will need to purchase a couple dollars of Ethereum in order to sell anything and if I’m correct to buy anything as well.
If the company goes under aka bankrupt. Is your cold wallet access gone? Since no more support
No.
1. The app is open source and available on GitHub this it can be re created even if Tangem disappears.
2. If setup the wallet using a seed phrase, you can import that phrase into almost any hardware wallet to access your funds
What if i have setup the access code Only? No seed phrase

If you’re trying to send render from Kraken to your Tangem Wallet address, then you need to copy the render address from your Tangem wallet and paste it into your Kraken account. It sounds like you’re doing it backwards.
Once you recieve do you retap 3 cards?
Nope.
So can you use Tangem for multiple exchanges?
What do you mean?
I can use the 3 cards for three different wallets??
No. You need at least two cards to create a wallet (1 primary and 1 backup).
Does it store the private key on the device when you restore an existing wallet using a mnemonic phrase?
The private key is stored offline on the secure element chip inside the card. Never is it stored on your phone or the Tangem app.
This is true whether you create or import a seed phrase using Tangem.
Is it compatible with any chain(osmosis) ?
Tangem is compatible with A LOT of chains including osmosis (ERC20 & Polygon).
Plus they add support for multiple networks every month.

Do you have the blockchain’s native coin in it as well? You CANT send if you don’t have crypto to pay for the transaction which is likely your issue.
For example, if you hold an ERC-20 token like $PEPE, but you don’t have ETH, you can’t send it because you need ETH for transactions.

A lot of tokens you cannot directly sell to your bank (ie XRP ADA) with the tangem app. Is that common for most cold storage wallets?

Hey, if I use the seed phrase option, does the second card even matter in this case? Since I can use the seed phrase to recover the wallet, why do I need a second card?
Well you need two cards minimum to setup the Tangem wallet. It’s also nice to have a backup because every time you transact you’ll have to scan a card. So if you lose one, you have a backup.
BUT, to your point, if you lose all your cards, you can still recover your crypto via your seed phrase.

In my experience no. I’ve used 3 different phones, all with thick otterbox cases and it still works
