This is exactly what i have been searching for. I have finally found a perfect place to guide me in my decision to embark on the Crypto journey. Thank you.
I was looking into buying some crypto but it seems too scary. Risky, and expensive to buy or use. It's so complicated. I have to say that so far out of all of the people I heard try to educate people on this you've been doing the best job!
People with experience in a certain field make it sound simple and straight forward but they probably forget about the areas they struggled with after they've accomplished them. I am not tech-savy and chose a Tangem wallet because I heard it was the easiest to use😢. There's a huge lack of instructions on how to set it up , use it, what it can do..... Be careful ! Go slow ! Terminology is different site to site. Alot of unknowns. Good luck !
So if you stop using Coinbase and begin using kraken .. you could have a mix of transactions some from Coinbase some from kraken in your cold wallet. 1) Do the transfers in the cold wallet show which exchange they were transferred? 2) Is it possible to transfer from cold wallet into wrong exchange ie Kraken instead of Coinbase. ( and worse case lose that transaction into cyber space ?) Thanks for any suggestions I’m at 43 min in video so these things may yet be answers . Thank you .. 1 month into crypto investing … newbie!
Excellent info ! I haven't come across anyone explaining if there is any difference to trading, compounding etc...after you start using a cold wallet. Let's say I'm using Robinhood to buy crypto and as the cost to purchase increases so would the value of the amount I'm invested in. Does anything change or diminish when I start using a cold wallet or is it business as usual , only safer ? Would I still be logging into Robinhood to buy or do I have the choice to do it from either ?
Thanks, this makes a lot of sense. I've just ordered a cold wallet to get started. One thing I'm not sure on though, if I buy on an exchange then transfer to my wallet how do I see the "value"? say if I buy 0.009 of a Bitcoin, how do I track the value of that actual purchase? For example if I buy stocks I can easily see what my stocks are worth, but how do I do that in crypto? Does the wallet update with values etc? Really sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm approaching 50 and this is all new to me
Should I hold off buying any crypto until my cold wallet arrives and is set up? I guess what I'm asking, is it safe to purchase and leave that purchase on the exchange? I'm very new to this and do not want to open myself up to thieves. Maybe a better way to ask this is it safe to leave it sitting on an exchange for lets say a week or 2? How do I make profits if I continually send it to my cold wallet? Sorry, I'm just excited to invest in some of this and have a ton of questions.
@@katiegamble77 I’d start the process now. It can take days to a week to get your account setup, crypto purchased, and then wait for any hold times the exchange might put on your crypto before you’re able to transfer it. So assuming you have a cold wallet on the way, I’d say now is a good time to get the ball rolling
Not done watching this video but so far it’s explained mostly all my questions about why I should even buy a cold wallet, extremely useful video thanks for helping us understand
@@cyberscrilla - I was thinking of using the Ledger for savings account and Tangem for my actual expenditures. (Based off your reviews it looks like it would be easier for the day to day)
I'm confused about the "don't connect your cold wallet to a website making it a hot wallet". I don't know what the difference of connecting a wallet to a website is compared to normal transfers between the exchange and the wallet. Also for the tangem I feel like it is a risk to generate a seed phrase because it is displayed on your phone but also a risk not to because then you have no way to import to other cold wallets in the future.
When you transfer crypto between your wallet and an exchange, you’re simply sending funds from one place to another-like handing cash to someone. It’s a one-time action, and once the transfer is done, that’s it. But when you connect your wallet to a website (like for swapping crypto), you often have to approve a “spend contract.” This is like giving someone permission to use your wallet to spend a specific amount of your funds. If the website or contract is malicious, you might accidentally give them access to all the funds in your wallet. So, connecting your wallet to a website isn’t just a simple transfer-it’s giving temporary or ongoing permissions, which can be risky if you’re not careful.
If you move your crypto to the wallet can you still see your info on the exchange? Or do you have to move it back to the exchange in order to see what’s going on with it?
My Trezor allows me to see everything in real time. But for ease I moved 90% of all holdings to my hard wallet and the 10% I can watch/play aggressively with on my exchange acct
I am new to crypto. This is definitely the best video, everything you need to know about HOW. But I am still looking for explanations about: WHY using crypto (except for speculation). You still need to convert crypto back to a fiat currency (USD or Euro) to spend it, which is expensive. If you have a bank account you can spend directly (transfert or bank card) and your deposit doesn't fluctuate (except inflation).
90% of crypto is a scam. If your goal is to simply make some money, stop focusing on WHY and realize that’s just how it is and the opportunity is NOW. If you truly care about the tech and why each coin exists etc, more power to you.
You’re probably the most informative person I’ve come across on TH-cam. Thanks for the videos 🙂👍 you definitely need more subscribers! By the way, you should make a video on where we should look for our forms to report to the criminal organization known as the IRS & how often is it required..
Thank you for this very easy to follow tutorial. Just a few questions, if I have a good amount of USDC on an exchange, waiting for the right time to buy crypto, do you suggest I move it to a cold wallet in the meantime? If it's in a cold wallet, would it cost time to transfer it to an exchange when I'm ready to buy? Same thing with other cryptos, during the upcoming bull market, will this make me loose the right time to sell when I have to move them from cold wallet to exchange?
Good morning from Ghana. I really appreciate how you take your time to explain Crypto to beginners like me. My name is John Kyeremeh. Please tell me how I can purchase Tangem or other cold wallet devices.
Just started watching...just, wow! I will share a lot. ☺️👍 This video needs to be shared, seen and contemplated. I really appreciate you putting in so much time and effort. Have a wonderful weekend. And thank you so so much, Alex!
Hi Alex, thankyou for all the information. I am just preparing to start. So I get you should have a "dedicated cold wallet" that should never be connected to the internet, so if you want to buy, sell etc. from a cold wallet, is it connected while you're transacting? If so, should you have a second cold wallet to use for those transactions and does it then become a "hot wallet" when you are performing those transactions? In other words, if you are transacting from a cold wallet, is it connecting to internet and becoming a hot wallet?
I watched you bash ledger and said that you stopped using them after the seed backup feature, are you trusting ledger again ? What made you change your mind ?
I'm kind of in between the idea of buying on a website like coinbase and buying on the actual cold wallet. Any suggestions that would sway me one way or another?
I have a question regarding Tangem. Is it really brute-force proof? I use an Ledger Nano S Plus right now, i feel pretty secure knowing that on the third try the whole thing erases itself. But Tangem only adds timeouts. Is this really secure considering that by taking it with you in your wallet it is more likely to getting lost?
To my thinking the entire rationale of having cryptocurrency in the first place would be to use a non-custodial wallet. Very informative video & all your others, too.
Thank you for the information! One question: when I researched the ledger wallet, people were saying to avoid due to the 'opt in' required ... Please can you explain what this is and why it might pose an issue? Many thanks.
@@HazHut that’s misinformation. People on the internet like to do 0 research and then spread FUD. Theyre talking about ledger recover. It’s a subscription based opt-in key recovery service. No one is forced to use it. And you have to pay a monthly fee and approve it via your wallet if you want to enable it. Ledger is solid. And many of the other wallet manufacturers use Ledgers security team to test their wallets.
Another amazingly informative and educational video. Thanks for the service you provide to the crypto community. Could you make a video of how to cash out of a crypto? Like how to choose ones DCA out strategy, how to handle a lot of money that cannot be exchanged all at once on a CEX because of daily limit, parking money temporary in stable coins, etc

Is it possible to transfer crypto to cold wallet multiple times? Is there a limit to number of transactions to cold wallet or amount of crypto that can be stored in a cold wallet? How long the cold wallet will contain crypto? will it kind of deteriorate over the years/transactions? Is it possible to send crypto from one exchange to cold wallet and receive back in other exchange later? Thank you🙏
** Very new to crypto and curious about which cold wallet to use. I was wondering if it was true that we should only use a laptop that is specifically used for crypto? And if so then wouldn't the mobile only not be very safe? I really like the idea of the mobile only but Im so nervous... not sure if you will even see this question but had to ask ~ TIA
Using a dedicated computer is not necessary. The point of a cold wallet is to secure your crypto even if your phone/computer is compromised, and they do exactly that. Since you say you prefer mobile (and are a beginner) I highly recommend either Tangem or the Ledger Flex. Thanks for all the great information you provided us with not only on this video, but on all your other ones. I have gained a lot of knowledge with your content. Do not lower your standards. Keep educating us on this very confusing but highly interesting industry. Your work is very much appreciated. Infinite Blessings!!!!! ✌️♥️🙏🇵🇷
This is exactly what i have been searching for. I have finally found a perfect place to guide me in my decision to embark on the Crypto journey. Thank you.
Happy to hear that and thanks for watching the video. Cheers.
This is great teaching thank you so much.
Good luck !
I just joined a cryptocurrency exchange. Deposited funds via bank and bought crypto. Worked it out from there.
Was simple.
Easy! Now get it into a cold wallet for safekeeping.
Thank you. Overwhelming and seems so Risky!
DUDEEE THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO FOR THE COMMON PPL !!! Super Helpful in our advanced digital world !!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and dropping this kind comment! Cheers
Very well explained. Thank you for laying it out so simply

42:01 how to sell crypto
Thanks, this makes a lot of sense. I've just ordered a cold wallet to get started. One thing I'm not sure on though, if I buy on an exchange then transfer to my wallet how do I see the "value"? say if I buy 0.009 of a Bitcoin, how do I track the value of that actual purchase? For example if I buy stocks I can easily see what my stocks are worth, but how do I do that in crypto? Does the wallet update with values etc? Really sorry if it's a dumb question, but I'm approaching 50 and this is all new to me
You use the cold wallet app to track, view, and manage your portfolio
@@cyberscrilla Awesome, thank you :)
Thank you so much for making this video!❤
Awesome! Happy to hear that! And thanks for watching
Probably the best crypto video I have seen, this would help soooooo many newbies or current peeps like me looking to move currency
Wow thank you for watching and saying this! Cheers

Will tangem ever ask for to approve an app update? Is that a possibility?
@@tinman6972 Tangem? No. Your phone? Possibly, depends on your phone and how you have it set up
Thank you 🙏
U were Amazing
Thanks for watching and dropping a comment!
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. GBY
Ordered my Ledger flex yesterday after watching a few of your videos. Ready to learn more about the process.
Fantastic! Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help. Enjoy your new wallet.
@@cyberscrilla - do you use one cold wallet for storage and another for actual use? Similar to Checking and Savings accounts?
@@cyberscrilla - I was thinking of using the Ledger for savings account and Tangem for my actual expenditures. (Based off your reviews it looks like it would be easier for the day to day)
This is really great info. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and letting me know

Thanks for giving me this link from a different feed. This really helped.
Happy it helped! Thank you for watching
If you move your crypto to the wallet can you still see your info on the exchange? Or do you have to move it back to the exchange in order to see what’s going on with it?
Most wallets have an app that does track price but prices are different on all exchanges keep that in mind
My Trezor allows me to see everything in real time. But for ease I moved 90% of all holdings to my hard wallet and the 10% I can watch/play aggressively with on my exchange acct
Thanks again for this invaluable information! You are appreciated! Blessings and good vibes sent your way!
Thank you sooooo much for creating this content. It’s super insightful and very helpful!!!!

Amazing resource. Hard to find anyone in the Crypto World who isn't a scammer.
Great work!
Appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching!

Great advice, wish I knew this at my start.
Thanks for watching!
It's the best video I have seen so far as a newbie. Thank you!
Wow, thank you! Glad it was helpful
Are you buying holding and then selling or are you doing any spot/leveraged trading aswell?
Best 101 out there
That was awesome mate, thank you.
Glad I found you. I was confused watching other videos. You pretty much cleared it up for me. Thanks
Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Good honest advice, thanks mate ! U r da OG Guru ; ) And presented perfectly !
You’re probably the most informative person I’ve come across on TH-cam. Thanks for the videos 🙂👍 you definitely need more subscribers! By the way, you should make a video on where we should look for our forms to report to the criminal organization known as the IRS & how often is it required..
Thank you, Alex, as always :) There isn't one video of yours where I wouldn't learn something new ❤
Happy to hear that! Thanks for watching :)
Is uphold a tier one exchange? Thoughts on uphold?
Thank you for this very easy to follow tutorial. Just a few questions, if I have a good amount of USDC on an exchange, waiting for the right time to buy crypto, do you suggest I move it to a cold wallet in the meantime? If it's in a cold wallet, would it cost time to transfer it to an exchange when I'm ready to buy? Same thing with other cryptos, during the upcoming bull market, will this make me loose the right time to sell when I have to move them from cold wallet to exchange?
These videos are so useful. Thanks
Great feedback. Thank you for watching
Hey I got a question for you. If you're ok with me asking, what bank do you use? And what would you say is the best bank to use?
I use Chase. Haven’t had any issues with Crypto. I couldn’t comment on any other banks really. I’ve used US Bank in the past without issue as well.
@cyberscrilla Thank you!

Wonderful work brother.
Thank you for sharing so much value ❤🎉
So nice of you to say! Thanks for watching!
LFG 💯 FAMILY
For real let me know what you think about it if you have time to watch it all. Thank you!

Thank you!!
Thanks for watching! Also, I’ve already made a video about taking profit. Have you seen it yet?

So once you have your crypto in cold storage, when you buy more then it automatically updates correct? Im trying to wrap my head around it
Correct. Just like when you get direct deposit to your bank account or someone send you money it’s automatically updated.
Hi! Excellent Video!
How do I buy XRP? I am very to Cryptocurrency.
Thank you!
Thank you🙏
Great information! Thank you 😊

Here’s a video covering some of the best cold wallets (in my experience) if you want to learn more: th-cam.com/video/SopLHiaLRdE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OSjVzq_yuDPHpIuC
Before cold wallets we probably did need solo pcs laptops plenty of ceos fucked up and put porn on their trade and got hacked.
Loved this video and will definitely be watching it again
