For the record -- I am a cello student struggling to learn this concerto. It is beautiful but brutal! I can't even imagine anyone being able to play it so beautifully. Watch closely -- much of it is played in "thumb position" which basically is bringing your entire left hand to the front of the cello to allow you to play with the side of your thumb -- using it as an additional finger. Tricky stuff!
I’m learning thumb position hah. Well, I’ve already passed the phase where it hurts to do, I’m just still not that great at it
My teacher says hayden concertos are hardest, maybe not technically but due to how "exposed" it is, especially d major
Rostropovich, one of the best!
Divine!!!!! Mstislav Rostropovich - The One and only One, who been playing explicitly outstanding, beyond human ability.
You must listen to the premiere recording with his dear friend Benjamin Britten from 1964, and the 1975 recording with The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields - I believe the latter recording of this 2nd movement is the greatest piece of music I have ever heard (and I'm 62 now).
I was reading a book and it talked about "the sweet adagio of Haydn", came here to see and it's indeed very delightful, classical music always amazes me.
That melody is enchanting
@@cosmofoxgaming1268the whole suite of concertos is full of gorgeous melody lines
@@iamjurellit certainly is friend. Haydn is one of the very finest.
Un suono ed un senso del fraseggio come pochi altri interpreti. Grazie.
Adagiio..yes,.. call it.. what ever.. i need cheesy .. make me . cry.. sobbing...love it....
Such a beautiful piece, and what a moving performance.
Really beautiful rendition.
so very beautiful!!
Bravo!
Un regalo para el alma con esa maravillosa interpretación de Rostropovich
Sublime ❤😊
I swear to God it sounds like he learned thumb position before anything else.
I've been trying to find this concerto for months!!!! FINALLY!! This is my favorite classical song of all time!
fenomenal
So beautiful 🎶
听出耳油!
ganz gut
Who gave this thumbs down?!
Idiots
Grazie
merci....
Wow !
❤❤❤❤❤
Ozawa, this movement is Adagio !
The cellist plays very good❤ but the conductor I can't se what he is doing😞. Fore me it looks like he trying to be af wave in the sea 🐳 but it is good that the orchestra can se what he is doing and means👌😆
There is a reason that I stick to singing. I wish I had more discipline and patience, but oh well...
What was that cadenza?
