Your skirt is absolutely gorgeous Erin. When you lifted it up to your actual waist in the video, it looked perfect!! So definitely worth fixing. I watched Stacey’s video for the Francesca and I’m so tempted to make it! But I would need to make so many adjustments… we’ll see! The front of the house looks so good - well done everyone! 💞

Thank you! I’m going to work on unpicking and fixing the skirt after I get this cat apron done. Hopefully this weekend so that I can start really wearing it since our whether is heating up.
I’m starting to tackle the adjustments in the Francesca now and can’t decide if I want to make a toile or not. I know I should….
Thank you! We’ve been hanging out front every morning and it’s so peaceful 🤗

Nothing worse than machine problems when you have a project to sew and the sewjo to do it! Sorry! Love your skirt! And the razorback dress is so cute!

It feels like the sewing universe is fighting me for some reason! Things are better but my machine still needs work. Ugh!
I have been able to accomplish some things though, so not all is lost 🤗

Erin, you made me laugh with the "Jazz Hands" 😁😁. Your skirt is really pretty with the contrasting waist fabric😉😉. The cross stitch is a really pretty pattern🙂🙂. Happy sewing💖💖💖

Sometimes by body just does things and I have to roll with it- apparently it was jazz hands on Thursday 😂
Thank you! I’m going to bring the waistband in a little and then it’ll be EXACTLY what I pictured. Which is very satisfying after all of my knit sewing frustration 🙄

Sometimes the fitting on a fitted waistband can be difficult. Even if you sew a mock up of the waistband. I had that problem with the Brumby Skirt. Your skirt is cute and definitely worth unpicking and making the adjustment. So happy you like the Hey June racer back pattern. I love the fabric you chose for it. It definitely says summer. Sweet in-laws! Love the house project.

The skirt will be perfect once I bring the waistband in, so I’m going to work on that later this weekend I think. It’s already getting hot here and it’s the perfect bottom for the South lol.
Brady is wearing the racerback today and she loves it 😍 She looks like such a big girl in it though!
I’ve been having my coffee on the porch swing while Brady colors with her chalk and it’s so peaceful ☺️

You’re totally right! A Nirvana tee works with everything in my opinion 😂 hehe
      Thanks for watching Emma!

Erin, Love your cross stitch! BEAUTIFUL!! So sorry about your machine issues. I just bought NL6537 for my granddaughter! So cute. I love your skirt with the french seams! I have that pattern. I hope you get your machine back in working order soon!

Thank you Grace! The skirt pattern was a great sew. I want to make it in an olive too. I’m not usually into skirts but I really like this one!

Hi Erin. Your cross stitch is so pretty. I used to do a lot of that and embroidery too. Brady’s little dress is adorable… I hate it when the machine causes things not to look as polished as we would do otherwise. Your skirt is beautiful. I think the weight of a garment make things “hang” down farther. I have that problem often. I hope you get your machine figured out. It’s so stressful. ❤ Diann

Ahhhh yes, your point about the weight of the skirt having an impact makes total sense! Especially with the extra weight of all the jeans buttons down the front. I ended up taking each side seam in by 5/8". I'm working on redoing the french seams now (so much seam ripping, why oh why did I do this to myself??).
My machine is still wonky, and developed another issue related to the needle casing (UGH) so I've set it aside and I'm going to take it to Pfaff dealer when I go to TX next week. My local shop says they service any machine, but for my peace of mind I need to try somewhere new and there's nowhere else local unfortunately.
It was lovely to see your comment, and I hope things are going well for you!

Hi Erin! I was super excited for you that your machine was ready so quickly, only then to hear that it’s still not working right 😔 Hoping the problem will get resolved for good soon.
The racer back outfit looks so cute and I loved the popsicle tag in the back 🙂
Great job with the cross stitch and at least displaying them one at a time the size difference will not be super noticeable (but still, aagggh, I know).
Love your skirt! Every summer I think “I want to make and wear long loose skirts 🥰” and every summer…nope, never do anything about it. Maybe this summer…?
Such a cheerful yellow front door and how nice to have a front porch swing!

RIGHT?! I was so excited to get it back but it still isn't 100%. I decided to just set it to the side for now and take it to a Pfaff dealer in TX when I go next week. For my own peace of mind I need to try somewhere else, and there isn't anywhere else local unfortunately. I'm loving sewing on my old machine though!
I'm so happy you noticed the popsicle tag! I put the same type on her bummies and they make me so happy.
I'm not a huge skirt person (I feel like I'm clueless at styling them) but I think this one is a good starting point! Definitely make this summer your summer of a skirt!
I've been having my coffee on the porch swing while Brady plays chalk in the morning and its so peaceful :)

I have had the same issue with my machine and how frustrating! Maybe someone here has the solution because I'm not really sure how I fixed it. I think I changed from a jersey to a stretch needle or vice versa. It just seems like there are some fabrics that make my machine go crazy with skipped stitches, etc. I purchased that same fabric and now I am curious if it will make my machine act up too 😬 I wasn't sure what to make with fabric but the racerback tee is adorable so I think I will copy you! Happy to see you back!

No one has commented with a magical fix *yet* but I’m still holding out hope. I haven’t had a chance to fiddle with my machine since I made the video but I’ll update you if I figure it out. I need to try a different fabric I think, since I’ve just been working on these jerseys. Let me know how your machine handles the patriotic fabric.
Thanks for welcoming me back Terry! It’s great to be back to making videos and chatting in the comments!

That must be so frustrating! I hope you get your machine sorted soon.

    • @ErinSews
      @ErinSews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Ugh me too. I was SO excited that it was “fixed” so quickly. It must just be the thread or something that isn’t playing nice with my machine any more.

I honestly think sometimes machines have a mind of their own! I made a top last week - all it needed was the hem. The machine just refused to cooperate! It ate my fabric and I had to take the machine apart! I got it done in the end but there's still a hole😥

Happy Friday Jazz Hands!😅 Was your cross stitch pattern printed on, or was it plain. I'm trying To figure out what is the material call that you cross stitch or embroider on my husband Tony to get.
    I like the denim skirt.

It was plain Aida cloth. I’m not sure if it’s used for embroidery too, because the crosses of the weave are really obvious. I think linen might be more appropriate for embroidery? They have embroidery linen in the same section of Joann’s or Hobby Lobby as the Aida (where all the embroidery floss is).

@ErinSews it's in JoAnns and Hobby Lobby... I feel another trip to the store happening!😀😀😀
