Straight talk- the business model for WDW is for visitors to the area. These are people who will take their families once - maybe twice- during their kids childhood. They will save up for years, drop thousands in a week (because they have been planning it for years), buy the photos and the autograph books, the clothes and the souvenirs, then go back to their Disney hotel. They'll do it thinking "well... When will i be back?". That's the target demo for most decisions at the Florida resort.
I can remember a period in my life when my family and I used to visit WDW at least every other year and still purchased annual passports at Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood every year.
I can tell that the prices has n\more than doubled since my family and i were over in 2013... And i think its a shame they got rid of "orlando flex ticket" i think it was called..
Why would a family of 7 get a Deluxe Resort and get all this? You could go during low-demand times, stay at a value resort, not have to get any Lightning Multipass, with rides being less than an hour wait. That right there saves $500/day!
I miss the old lighting lane system. Back when it was free. I know imagineers had to fight to keep it free for the longest time. Citing the fact that Walt used to wait in line and say that there shouldn't be a class divide in the Parks.
Disney class divided when they allowed unlimited rides for folks who stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and now the division and the ability to function with a cell is out of control.
@@citticat2 ya it's quite sad, I make a trip there every couple of years to visit a friend. And every year the parks cost more and have less spontaneous magic.
@@nellen55 It is all about having a cell phone to order food and check your next LL availability or queue. And if don't know how to work the system - well you are out of luck. I went last year and didn't have dining reservations and the Carnation Cafe would not serve me for breakfast. Starbucks was packed so I left the park and went to Earl Sandwich - I was so hungry.
Same!! We went in 2017 with plans to return in 2018. 2018 was when they first started massively upping prices and it was at that point that I realized we wouldn't be going back, broke my heart. Seems like every decision they make is pushing us further and further from being able to return again 😢
There are simply better vacations for a lesser price. And it becomes impossible to budget for Disneyland once you realize this. A night to the nearby mountains or beach will always be a more soothing time than Disneyland .
@@omnicognatesnr5947 Of course they know what they are doing. Throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks!!! Pricing out the average family is what they want but it’s gonna backfire because a few people paying 400 bucks extra will not not make up for thousands just not coming at all.
@@davie941yep. If everyone boycotted the parks, they’d be forced to lower prices to a more reasonable price to keep cast members employed and the parks open
Disney is creating an existential problem for itself. The parks just don’t have enough to do to justify these costs. They are killing the return-value of their parks. Disney will be a “one and done” type event.
Thank you I will probably never be able to visit Disney again. I went with my Son . He passed Dec 2021. He worked at Disney a long time ago. I am going to be 70 and my knees can’t take the walking. So enjoy looking around the park with you. Your friend from Ohio.
I remember my father complaining about the cost of Disney World prices back in 1972. He had saved up change and we sat on the bed and rolled quarters to get the $500.00 to go that year. Father, mother, and 9 year old me for three days, two nights.
Disney has always been expensive for those who have to travel to the parks. It's been much more cost effective for those living near the parks who can get passes and go frequently.
Same here, $500 in 1977. Drove from Maryland, five people, five nights Polynesian, food, luau, Hoop-de-doo Revue, five days in MK, River Country and horseback riding for two of us.
@@rgmALC They aren't forcing anyone to buy DVC. We are staying at a 2 bedroom timeshare at Marriott Cypress Harbour for $800 a week. 7 days for $800 total. There is no reason to stay onsite.
@brianglas7768 I'll help your point out even more. Rent a house. For that same price, you can get a 4br/3bth, with pool and hot tub. There are much better deals out there than on property. Every time we have gone, I compare staying on-property vs off-property. It would cost us double to stay on-property vs off. That total trip double, not just hotel/lodging. That being said, with the prices like they are now, they have priced us out. Oh, we can afford going, I just refuse to pay that much for that little (with all the cuts they have made).
That is the whole point of the price increase. It is to keep the park at a manageable level of people. If it was cheap then the park would be too crowded to do anything. They don't want you to come, they know they can make tons of money anyway and keep the people that can afford to go happy. The park would be crowded at $1000 a day.
Adam, it’s not front of the line if you still have to wait in line I feel so sorry for the people who aren’t passholders also it’s a shame it really is. Shameful.
I just bought tickets to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea-$128 for a two-day pass! Compare that to the absurd prices in the U.S., where Disney has become completely unaffordable for the average person. It’s outrageous! I recently visited Disney World, and guess what? Half the attractions were either broken or closed. I will never go back to Disney World or Disneyland in Anaheim again. The Walt Disney Company has lost touch with reality. They’re gouging people for a subpar experience, and it’s truly sad to see how far they've fallen.
@revheavygandpinto, Cool! May I ask if you (1) can get into Fantasy Springs with those $128 tickets? (2) are staying at a Tokyo Disneyland hotel and if so the cost?; & (3) what is the price of round trip airfare? I was planning a trip to TDR, and the logistics getting into Fantasy Springs made me pause.🤔 Thank you in advance for your time!
I have visited all of the Disney Parks, except Paris, and DisneySea and Tokyo Disney are the best of them all. Much better value than the US parks, plus you don't have the hidden tax of tipping to contend with.
@@mickeysmyspiritanimal223Only the Tokyo DisneySea ticket can get you into Fantasy Springs, but even then, once you scan into the front gate, you have to make a standby pass or paid Premier Pass for a ride into Fantasy Springs. (You can get one of each once you scan in.) That's the only way you're getting into the land and they have instructions at the entrance of Fantasy Springs along with people checking. There's no park hopping. Your flight and hotel costs depend on your location, which hotel you stay at, and time of the year.
@@_Grand_Admiral_ Not me, I started about 3 years ago, going to different places and doing different things. I've gone up the northern coast of California. I went to Zions, I went to Canada.. I found new and exciting things to do. I just came back from Southern California where I absolutely did not go to Disneyland.
My face when my kids be like, 'I can't wait to come back to disney world', knowing full well they'll never step foot on disney proper as children again 🤭
Absolutely disgusting! It's such a shame how much it costs to take your family to Disneyland. We just went back in July, and for 1 day at Disney, it was over 3,000 dollars. You pay all this money to ride, what maybe 5-6 rides maybe, and have to deal with a packed park all day while it's 95 outside. I told my wife we would do Disney 1 more time when our youngest, who is currently 5, is around 10 or 11, and i never want to hear the name disney again.
Holy Moly, that's a huge amount of money. And if any one of you have a dodgy tummy, or a youngster who 'throws a wobbler" ( kids are kids ), it could take out a child and 1 parent for some of the day. The kids I don't have will never know what the inside of a Disney resort looks like :)
Told my wife if I hear the words Disney vacation again I will flip out. Disney is nothing like it used to be. So disappointed how they’ve turned their backs on traditional family. Too expensive as well.
Just went with 4 friends even with a deal we got for 5 day park pass with park hopper and mickeys not so scary party it cost us $4400 total or the 5 of us. That very pricey compared to what’s it been in the last 10-15 years.
Don’t do it. Start telling him now how much better Knotts or some other park is. My daughter is 20 now and never brings up her trip to Disney, but she does remember going to Hershey Park and our local park Kennywood. Disney sucks!
Hi Adam -- FYI, reading further into the announcement, the Premier Pass for Disney World is priced differently for each park. The $129 rate is the low rate for Animal Kingdom only. Magic Kingdom starts at $349, etc.
Exactly, he seemed a little excited, but it’s so much higher for HS and MK. 😅 Proving if the price had been a little lower, they would’ve had more traction from people.
I'm glad I was an AP from 1992-2010 and got my fill of the parks when the passes and room prices were reasonable, and Fast Pass was free. Now I only go once every 5-6 years for a week, but would never pay up to $450 for Premier Lightning Lane per person. It's all a money grab.
And to think, when I went to WDW in 1986 I was SHOCKED to the core when we paid $75 for four adult one day tickets. I had NEVER paid that much for four adult tickets to any amusement park.
When I can go and have full on vacations in europe and japan for less than the cost of driving 2 hours north of where I live and go to disney (including florida resident discounts), there's a problem - I haven't been back since 2018, gone every year before that, I put my foot down and went to ireland, west ireland is crazy beautiful and awesome, not expensive and the people and culture (music, craic) is amazing, get out there people, don't limit yourself (I still go to dollywood though, they still care about families there)
This is where we are at too. They've pushed into a price point where there are just SO many other options for how to spend that money - including flying overseas with the whole family.
This!! You can either go see the world. Or go see the world showcase! lol I will choose the real deal from now on. And I always loved the world showcase. Smh.
My wife and I said no to Disneyland this year after going multiple times every year for the last 21 years. I agree...Goodbye Disney! Europe, here we come!
Meanwhile Silver Dollar City is announcing a 1500 acre expansion today and their season passes are cheaper than 1 day at WDW. Come out and see us Adam!
I don’t think Walt would’ve agreed with the notion people can give a bribe to the guy in charge of the line so they can cut ahead of all the other people. The notion of being cut in line has always been a negative thing. Why do we even allow such a thing?
I could get behind bringing the ticketing system back, for example, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, being E ticket rides, but this lighting lane stuff is for the birds.
Im 64 here now from the uk and just done the route 66 and decided to drive down to Florida for a bit of Disney and relax. Now i wish i didn't bother. Been 9 years since I last came. Don't want to sound a old prude and i know its food and drink time at Epcot but there were a few having to much and walking around with can beers and bring sick and seeing poor cast members having to clean it up! Its got so expensive.
You're spending $160 bucks a day on tickets. That's not accounting for the price of the hotels. Let's say $400 a night. You also factor in food if you don't get a dining plan. Now, tack on $200 extra on a lower end for Premier Pass. That is a stupid amount of money. No thanks, Disney!
It’s a complete ripoff and your kids would have more fun at a regular ole amusement park. I took my daughter once when she was little and it was ehh. If you ask her now about park memories as a child she’ll bring up Hershey Park or Kennywood. 🤷♂️
I use to go with my family every week for 3 years cause it was only 98 bucks a month for the payment and that was all 4 parks , free parking. I use to be able to schedule fast passes and go for 4 hours and come home. As soon as cocid was over they started this crap and it went down hill from there. I'll never go back to any of these parks. Not paying almost 200 for 4 people, parking, food, drinks, and wait in line and do 5 rides 😂. Nah, no, thanks
@@pittpanth I was going to mention Hershey Park and some of the other local parks around PA and NY and OH. Far less money and the kids will remember and enjoy them. They may have hoped to met Mikey and the other characters, but they will soon forget it.
I gave up on Disney years ago. The business reality is that there are enough wealthy families, with a lot of money to spend, to keep the parks filled at all times. Why cater to the working class or even the middle class? When Disney files for bankruptcy, I'll celebrate. I won't care about it at all anymore until then.
How can they file for bankruptcy. This is pure profit. Long lines=too many people. They price theses passes so that a very small percentage will buy there way out.
Ah, the latest “Magical Money Grab” from Disney.. My family and I used to go to WDW multiple times per year since 2012. We are DVC members and were AP holders up until last year. We have no problem renting out our DVC points for cash and spending the money traveling everywhere other than Disney. They alienated their biggest and most loyal fans with their politics, taking away perks, and constant money grabs.
Agree 100%. They did alienate us! We were also AP holders and would travel from New England 4 times per year and stay at one of the Fab 5 at Epcot (Yacht Club being our favorite). Not any more! Let's be honest... Disney has always been expensive but if you stayed in the parks (because they want to hold you captive...), at least you had some nice perks to go along with it and that was at any level resort which was fair. And, if you didn't stay in the parks you also got raked over the coals as well in other ways and lost out on perks. I miss the old Disney. Always a pleasure watching your videos, Adam.
@@genageeraert8039 You’re delusional. Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave if he saw what these people did to his company.. ESPECIALLY from a political standpoint.
The second to last time I had my annual passes after many years was the week I ran into you at Epcot like a week before it closed for Covid. We went back after it reopened and there were dozens of reasons not to renew. And now I mourn what once was. We had a good run. Much love buddy!
We got married at Disney in 2000 and have been there at least 4 times. Seeing these prices is disgusting, there is no reason for it other than greed. Tourist probably make up the majority of visitors, like others have said, how can a family of 6 afford a trip there. It is insane and pure greed. Needless to say we will never step foot into a Disney location ever again!
it's ridiculous. It created a tiered entry system to rides and the lines will be even longer for the regular folks who arent traveling elites. The lines moved way better before the fast pass, genie , and now this.
Planning a trip now for me 2 of my children and my 3 grandchildren. 2 rooms and tickets for 7 days is 9,000. Now that would be 16,000 more to do this lightning Lane. Are you kidding me! Disney does not want middle class at there parks. Iger said it years ago “ we don’t need middle class to make money”. I’ve been going to Disney since 1995. Also I have a handicapped son no DAS. I’m done absolutely done. Universal here I come!
Said it before and I'll say it again. We paid 3700 for 4 adult APs and 1 child AP non FL residents in 2019. Those same APs plus one more child would now cost us over 10 grand. Talk about inflation...
@@trickolas78Grow up. Corporations are terrified of negative word of mouth on social media. No, they don't care about TH-cam comments but they are worried about their image. At the end of the day we can all vote with our wallets. Disney only charges what people will pay. When the general public stops paying Disney will adjust their prices.
My daughter and her husband travelled to Disney shortly after they were married. After huge crowds and only able to ride FOUR rides in one day, they gave up on their Disney trip. The next day, they drove up to South Carolina to spend the rest of their week at the beach. They had a much better time. They'll never go back to Disney.
Same thing happened to us one Christmas. I don't regret going, but I literally got on like 2 rides the whole day at Islands of Adventure, think it was 2018? Can't remember--pre-covid.
Over the years, we have travelled from the UK to Disney multiple times. We love the parks, but the prices are insane. At a push, we can afford to still travel, but I find it way too hard to justify the cost. It's even crazier that the Brits get a better deal than US residents, too (14 days for the price of 7, etc.). As our children get older, I find myself looking constantly at deals, hoping for a miracle to take them one last time before they grow up. It's such a shame. Disney is determined to kill its brand and allow Universal to become the leading Florida destination. To think that a family of four just getting into the park can be upwards of $600, and you have no guarantee of getting on all the rides, is just crazy. Sad times we live in.
I’m a grandma and take 8-10 people when we go. There are definitely cheap ways to go! One park per day is fine!! We don’t buy Lightning Lane - and have no trouble getting on rides. Bring breakfast food to your hotel, then bring a small cooler with sodas and sandwiches to the park and the food price goes down. It’s definitely doable!
I live in southwest Florida. Less than two hours from Disney. I've been a repeat customer since 1973. This year is my last year. In February I took my daughter and her two children to EPCOT, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom for 4 days. We stayed at a good neighbor hotel by Disney Springs and that short trip was over $9K all inclusive. Never again.

As long as people keep coming to Disney world in Disneyland and pay the outrageous prices, this company will continue on raising them. I hope with this new system I hope they lose lots of customers. I already know I'm one of them that cannot afford this. But I'm okay. There's other places to go on vacation!
We got rid of our APs and started boycotting Disney back in 2008 (after over a decade of buying APs). Disney just isn't worth it anymore. Sea World and their APs are a MUCH better deal.
As someone who would come over from the uk for 2 weeks as a family of four, this extra "premium" is ludicrously expensive. If they are pricing out our family, both work full time exec jobs, they are cutting off a huge demographic of visitors.
You brought up a good point that the choices about Disney parks is a personal one. Time spent vs. money spent vs what you get out of it . ... in so many words.
I wouldn't pay a squirt of dog urine to go to Disney these days. Their values do not align with that of the American people. It's clear they are price gouging in the parks to make up for their lost profits from all the crappy movies they have put out over the last 4-5 years.
His grave is in a beautiful family plot I visit it everytime I'm there for other family. He is IN his grave no freezing no still alive people are looney to believe that. I met him in 1967 in Disneyland n he IS upset this not what he wanted
I get the sentiment, but I am sick of people saying how upset Walt would be. Number 1, he was super greedy in business and loved taking credit (and money) he didn’t necessarily deserve. Number 2, if the ride roster was the same/similar now as it was opening day, it wouldn’t be expensive. People expect WOW from Disney. WOW is expensive. Ya, they should decrease hotel pricing a bit and either lower ticket prices or give more value. We’ll see what happens when epic universe opens, but crowds at Disney are down this year. There are multiple reasons for that, almost none of which have to do with politics btw. But minimizing these issues to “Walt would be rolling in his grave” both makes no sense and discounts 1000’s of things at play. Not trying to be argumentative, but pointing this out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely frustrated at pricing as well.
After 3 years, I let my AP lapse. I'm not happy with the directions they are going in, and I decided to give Universal and Sea World my entertainment dollars.
@@riparianlife97701 yeah, but only 1 of only about 3 movies that have made them any money in the past 2-3 years. They're literally using revenues from the parks to prop up other areas of the company.
I have no idea how everyone but me seems to afford these price increases. Here in SO CALIF my homeowners insurance has doubled (never made a claim in 24 years, my car insurance just went up (never had a ticket or accident in 45 years), just got my property tax bill, another increase...what a surprise. These are my versions of SCARY DARK RIDES. Adam, you're right...I am a huge Seinfeld fan and truly believe so many things in life relate to Seinfeld episodes. I thought of the one when Georges father, Frank Costanza talked about moving to Florida (Del Boca Vista) to be specific, because he and his wife Estelle couldn't go through their money quick enough in NYC. His line was (SCREAMING) YOU CAN DROP A GRAND IN DISNEY WORLD LIKE THAT! 🤣🤣 P.S. Yes, your Seinfeld impression was pretty bad, but definitely like the reference. 👍👍👍
The good thing about the overpricing of this option is that it will limit the use, unlike regular lightening lane which causes the biggest impact to wait times.
It’s an optional add on commensurate with competitor offerings. Some people would rather spend money than time. Others would rather spend time than money. No one is forced to buy it, and I think a lot of commentators need a reminder that vacations are not government entitlement programs.
Those prices are CRAZY. They are making it harder for people to afford going, my sister, brother in law, niece , nephew and his wife went to Disney World last year the beginning of December. They stayed off park and spent almost $10,000 for the week for their vacation. INSANE!!!!!! NOW, nobody I know can afford those prices. They wouldn’t have been able to afford it then but my sister’s work helped pay for it.
I was just talking to my brother who is going to the Mets/Dodgers tonight. The conversation included the cost of the tickets, which is relevant to the title here. He's going to spend $800 for two people tonight between tickets, gas, tolls, food and parking. That is insane in my mind. Not only is the cost outrageous, it's the extra time. If you watch the game at home on a big screen TV, you maybe make some snacks first and then sit down and watch. He's going to be driving about three hours each way due to traffic. You're tacking on six extra hours where you're not watching the game. I went to Pittsburgh about 12 years back for a four-game series, three nights in a hotel. The total cost for two people was $780. That included gas, tolls, hotel, parking, tickets, food. He's going to pay more for one game and no hotel. At some point people are going to weigh cost vs what you get from that cost and just stop doing things like games, amusement parks, etc.
The "hungry family of 5" should be working harder to put food on the table first ... yes? Don't go crying charity with me with that example. What are you a socialist or something?
@@riparianlife97701 Just a character I liked the look of many years ago, and it's actually from a film. Better than being a socialist like you. If one has five children and they're going hungry, well, their parents really should have either used appropriate birth control or gotten better jobs. Because their children shouldn't be going 'hungry'. Pathetic.
Disney has been expensive even in the 60s where you bought the ticket books, and some rides you didn’t get but one ticket to use, so you had to go and buy more tickets to ride those sought after E ticket rides. As a middle class family, we couldn’t afford to go on the E rides. Now, it’s going back to that same kind of thing, by charging you for special privileges, on top of the entry fee! It was bad enough in the 90s when I last went. And the worst part is that Disney, instead of fixing the problem in a more suitable way, create queues that take up more space and takes away from the appeal of the park! What is the solution? How about building a third Disneyland in the Midwest….say like Missouri. Buy enough land to make it a sizable park, room for expansion, and then build it so that it is not full of stanchions to guide you to a ride or attraction. And as they design this third park, make ABSOLUTELY sure that they have Walt Disney’s frame of mind as well as foundation on what he would have done if he had the space to do it with. Disney will price itself out of business if they can’t control the crowds better, stop charging so much to get in the parks, fix ALL rides that are down or broken, and start thinking of the guests first, before the company’s pocketbook. If they are not making a profit now, they never will. That’s my thoughts on Disney’s price hike. It’s too much, and they still won’t fix what is broken.
@@terryd317 if you check, it was per ticket, not for the book. They then phased the books out in the 80s for an all inclusive passport to all rides under one price. Which is quite expensive for back in the day if you wanted to ride serval attractions.
Adam thank you for putting this through the eyes of a family and not a local passholder POV. It’s ridiculous. That’s why we’re saving to go to Tokyo and Paris instead. It’ll be cheaper. 65 dollar tickets in Tokyo and they don’t shove LL at you
800 comments so I know this will never be red, but this will be the first year since 2014 that we have not went to Walt Disney World. We just got priced out.
You vote with your wallet. Don't go if it's too expensive. Simply complaining while paying does nothing except motivate them to raise the prices even more.
Absolutely, true capitalism is letting the little people vote with their wallet and choose what thrives and what fails. Disney is going to fail, but only temporarily, and when it’s crashing someone is going to buy it and actually give the people what they want in order to turn that woke failing company around. They rejected their client base, dug their own grave.
I wonder if there will ever come a time when Adam says enough is enough and refuses to pay the IMO outrageous price to go to any of the Disney Parks. ?
Growing up close to Orlando I was lucky enough to go to Disney word parks several times a year and always for free. Either through performing in the park or through company picnic’s. Later in life taking my kids to the parks by being given tickets through vendors. And just recently going because my wife’s aunt works for the parks. We strongly considered buying season passes this year for our family of 4 And realized that $5000 is just ridiculous and opted to stick with our local theme park Wild adventures and only cost us $350 for 4 passes.
As a family of 5, I can't imagine what it would cost. Really pushes me to Universal and stay at a Signature Collection hotel and get unlimited Express included for staying at that tier resort. When I went to Hollywood Studios 2 years ago, it cost $1100 for 1 day and Genie+ and LL on Rise. This would almost be an all-inclusive vacation for a week in Mexico for the price of 2 days at Disney in hopes of knocking everything out! Or almost why not just do a VIP tour? So much for some magic.
I hope Disney suffers for this! Walt would turn over in his grave what has been happening to Disney what took him years to build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stating the obvious here, forgive me: Disney parks are for two classes of guests: those with formidable resources who can pay ANYTHING Disney chooses to charge and those who will either save up for years, sacrificing many other aspects of their lives, for ONE vacation, or go horribly in debt for the experience of waiting in lines, shoulder to shoulder with thousands of folks. It's still a free country, so far, so it's still free choice. Disney recently announced investments of $1.9 billion in EACH of the U.S. parks. Be prepared to pay for those investments with more, endless price increase schemes.
I live in MA. I was last at Disney in 2018.. took my husband to CA for our honeymoon. There was a panini, we've had 2 babies.. and I didn't want to go until everyone was out of diapers. Now I spend almost $1k/wk for daycare. I don't think we'll get to go back to Disney until 2030😢
I'm wondering what Walt Disney would say about how expensive it is going to one of his parks today. I know prices of things go up, for me going there today is out of my price range. The last time I was there in 1980, it was $17.00 not included ticket books.
Spoken as a man who has more money than most people. There's NOTHING wrong with just spending a little time waiting in line. It won't kill you, and you'll get to enjoy the theming in the queue.
Disney just doesn’t get how to compete with universal now, if someone opens a new park with their 2 existing parks slightly lower prices and a cheaper express pass system and instead of being competitive Disney is gonna charge more money 🙃 I just can’t wrap my head around that poor business decisions. 🤦🏻♂️
Finally Adam admits the costs are stupid crazy. Apparently Disney is still in trouble and is not making as much money on the parks which they usually always do.. It seems like ever since ESPN. The company has been going downhill regardless of who is the CEO.
If you watch the video, Adam plays both sides of the fence. Yes, he admits the prices are steep, but then he gives a couple of scenarios where the price is worth it. Adam's a "Disney, Wrong or Right." guy. In his defense, the prices wouldn't be as high as they are if people stayed away. The fact is, DL & WDW are packed year 'round with millions of people willing to pay whatever the cost is. Because of the throngs that show up, Disney probes to find out where the pushback price points are. So far, nobody pushes back.
None of us are feeling the magic right now. My friends were just there at separate times and both Tiana and People Mover broke down on them. I burst out laughing over the kinky temperature.
I feel bad for the people who aren’t pass holders. For us locals or AP holders we have better options. But it’s hard because I love Disney but I hate how much everything has become a paid experience or add-on.
Being retired military I can stay at Shades of Green for about $200 a night. I can get a 5 day park hopper pass for $385 a person. I would say in light of what Adam is saying this is reasonable 🤷🏻♂️. Plus food , ride passes and souvenirs …
Disney has jumped the shark! This new Lighting Lane Premier is way to expensive. I have been a annual passholder for over 10 years in Disneyland & DCA. I REFUSE to buy this new LLP! I am so mad at Disney! Bad MOVE!!!

I can tell that the prices has n\more than doubled since my family and i were over in 2013... And i think its a shame they got rid of "orlando flex ticket" i think it was called..
They'll drive an Uber on their off days, to save up for it.
Can't do this for a family of 7. Glad we have Dollywood to go to!! Thanks for the info!
Why would a family of 7 get a Deluxe Resort and get all this? You could go during low-demand times, stay at a value resort, not have to get any Lightning Multipass, with rides being less than an hour wait. That right there saves $500/day!
Love Dollywood!!! ❤
Rather go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge any day than go to a Disney World.
@RandyLWhitaker im with you. Im only 2 hours away and we go very often. It's actually more fun and way cheaper and don't have to be in a rush..
Dollywood is AMAZING!!
We gave up on Disney 5 years ago and held on to a little hope that they would “figure it out”. It appears they will not! 🤦🏻♂️
A cruise is cheaper and better
@@jlo2o199 Absolutely agreed! Still burns not being able to enjoy the parks and the experience with my kiddos though!
Not wrong but we're in the minority here
Disney is really making reliving your childhood and nostalgia expensive. How much longer can Disney exploit their cult of Disney adults?
Based on attendance they’ve run out of adults with expendable cash
@@omnicognatesnr5947 true, but they're giving guests a beer experience at champagne prices. That's not sustainable business.

At this rate it will be none and done by next week.
I agree half the parks will be in construction and what's the value of half open park skipping 5 rides. You will be done in like 2 hrs.
I’m guessing the people who are currently in charge of Disney don’t care what Walt would think anymore
Disney is totally out of control people should start boycotting them money talks a big drop in revenue would speak volumes
Exactly. People have to hit them in the pocketbook. That's all they understand.
Except people never do - we’re our own worst enemy
I have. One drop in the bucket but add us all up going forward.
You don’t have to buy the lightning pass.
@@kathyc9669 Did he say lightning pass? No. He's referring to base prices ($129?) which are already ridiculous.
Thank you I will probably never be able to visit Disney again. I went with my Son . He passed Dec 2021. He worked at Disney a long time ago. I am going to be 70 and my knees can’t take the walking. So enjoy looking around the park with you. Your friend from Ohio.
I'm sorry for your loss❤. My sister and I used to take our kids and she passed in 2014 and I haven't been back since. Couldn't afford it now anyway.
I hope the memories can help you through this hard time.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. 💔
I took 300.00 along in 1979 to do 1 day at WDW and my hotels and food. Money went so much farther!
Same here, $500 in 1977. Drove from Maryland, five people, five nights Polynesian, food, luau, Hoop-de-doo Revue, five days in MK, River Country and horseback riding for two of us.
Bet there was a ton of silver quarters in that pile of quarters.😢
To me that was the golden age@constancejohnston570
All these extras used to be included more proof of Disney greed
The prices are absolutely ridiculous for us non pass holders 😤
BOYCOTT !!!!
Look at the price for Deluxe resorts rack rate per night. It’s absolutely insane. They force people to get DVC
I feel bad for my future kids, they will never get to experience Disney as it originally was, before the dark times, before Iger.
well it's official.....I will not be going to Disneyland or Disneyworld ever again......these prices are insane....Disney should be ashamed of itself.
People keep going. Including the person you’re watching.
Try Dollywood, it’s beautiful and the food is great!
Be prepared for the tokyo crowds though.
These prices are scandalous! Disney has lost their mind!

What you are missing is its only available to deluxe resort stays
Yes, it's only for guests that are staying at the Disney Deluxe resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and other select hotels. It's not for everybody
At disneyland it's available to everyone just FYI.
How many people were in your party?
Too expensive and much more complicated than a fun day at a theme park should be. (In fairness, pretty much all of them are gravitating that way.)
It feels like they are trying to make up for all their box office failures.
Bingo nailed it
This. Park goers are paying for Disney’s other unprofitable lines of business.
Amen to that
Made worse because the parks themselves aren't being managed necessarily any better. Ex: Splash vs Tiana, World of Nations fountain vs planter box
Don’t forget that Star Cruiser failure. 😂
And to think, when I went to WDW in 1986 I was SHOCKED to the core when we paid $75 for four adult one day tickets. I had NEVER paid that much for four adult tickets to any amusement park.
When I can go and have full on vacations in europe and japan for less than the cost of driving 2 hours north of where I live and go to disney (including florida resident discounts), there's a problem - I haven't been back since 2018, gone every year before that, I put my foot down and went to ireland, west ireland is crazy beautiful and awesome, not expensive and the people and culture (music, craic) is amazing, get out there people, don't limit yourself (I still go to dollywood though, they still care about families there)
Although Dollywood added blackout dates to the silver level pass... 😡
Disney just lost my business with these prices. Hello Universal!
Excellent one less person in the lines.
@bosskbounty awesome with him not in line, you will only wait 85 min for a ride instead of 86 min
Meanwhile Silver Dollar City is announcing a 1500 acre expansion today and their season passes are cheaper than 1 day at WDW. Come out and see us Adam!
Adam is the type of dude who would love Branson
I liked how you showed the actually app. It explained it so well and now makes sense.
Those who bribe belong at the end of the line, my thoughts
Because it’s called consumerism and people are willing to spend their money on what they consider exclusive experiences.
The truth is no one wants to wait in line anyone. We live in such a world of conveinace now where everything have a minor wait
Fastpass is the least egregious thing they’re doing wtf lol what an odd thing to specifically get mad at it
Im 64 here now from the uk and just done the route 66 and decided to drive down to Florida for a bit of Disney and relax. Now i wish i didn't bother. Been 9 years since I last came. Don't want to sound a old prude and i know its food and drink time at Epcot but there were a few having to much and walking around with can beers and bring sick and seeing poor cast members having to clean it up!
@@omnicognatesnr5947 Yeah, I saw that after the comment. So, yeah definitely waaaay too expensive. Disney is mental!

My family and friends have been DVC and park pass holders since the early 90’s. Everyone has said “they’re done going to Disney.” It’s too insane.
I gave up on Disney years ago. The business reality is that there are enough wealthy families, with a lot of money to spend, to keep the parks filled at all times. Why cater to the working class or even the middle class?

Let's be honest... Disney has always been expensive but if you stayed in the parks (because they want to hold you captive...), at least you had some nice perks to go along with it and that was at any level resort which was fair. And, if you didn't stay in the parks you also got raked over the coals as well in other ways and lost out on perks. I miss the old Disney. Always a pleasure watching your videos, Adam.

Walt is turning over in his grave! He always wanted it affordable for families to go to his parks.
I wouldn't pay a squirt of dog urine to go to Disney these days. Their values do not align with that of the American people. It's clear they are price gouging in the parks to make up for their lost profits from all the crappy movies they have put out over the last 4-5 years.
Don't you mean his cryo chamber
It kinda seems that the people who are currently in charge of Disney no longer care about Walt or what he would be thinking

as a kid it was my dream to visit epcot and stay on-site… i doubt i’ll ever be able to afford it now
Those prices are CRAZY.
Haven't been to a park since, well before the pandemic. Even though I'm a Florida resident, I can't justify the pricing.
Imagine having a hungry family of 5, and going to a Disney park.
The "hungry family of 5" should be working harder to put food on the table first ... yes? Don't go crying charity with me with that example. What are you a socialist or something?
@@bosskbounty Your avatar is, what, a Star Wars action figure??? Wow. What a profoundly-unimpressive person you are!
I think America needs to grow up is what I think
The 15 ride ticket book cost $8 in the 70’s.
65 dollar tickets in Tokyo and they don’t shove LL at you
Yes, you can get an airline ticket cheaper than a lightning lane pass. Ridiculous.
Be careful in Japan, it's very foreign and not all of them speak "American".
800 comments so I know this will never be red, but this will be the first year since 2014 that we have not went to Walt Disney World. We just got priced out.
Good, and stay out.
No. He’s out of touch like the rest of them. 8:41
He has to beat the Disney addiction first & admit he’s done.
Nah, he's DVC, you can never put it down, it's a curse 😂
That is outrageous! No thank you, Disney. Money grabbing at it's finest! Walt would not approve of this move. Shame on you, Disney!!
I had enough of Disney when they started with this line butting caste system.
Im not playing that game.
I have zero desire to ever step foot inside any Disney park. I do not get it.
I hope Disney suffers for this! Walt would turn over in his grave what has been happening to Disney what took him years to build!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are about to see they can’t compete with universal with these price hikes, Disney should be dropping prices not raising
@@mattyg4186they will run their self out of business soon.
The only ones suffering are those waiting in ridiculous lines in unbearable heat and humidity.
I won't be paying for that. Disney is going to start losing fans to Universal.
Disney is making it way too expensive for us out of state visitors to be able to go once every few years and actually enjoy several rides.
The cooler weather feels great out it’s almost like it went from 90-55 like it saw a state trooper 👮♀️ 😂
Knott's Berry farm and silver Dollar City or my places .
Two Thumbz 👍👍
Yes! Love Silver Dollar City
This is why I like hanging out at the resorts more than the parks most of the time.
Us too. But just wait….Disney will ruin that for everyone too.
And it’s not front of line per say, it’s just the standard lighting lane, which can still be long!
Disney just doesn’t get how to compete with universal now, if someone opens a new park with their 2 existing parks slightly lower prices and a cheaper express pass system and instead of being competitive Disney is gonna charge more money 🙃 I just can’t wrap my head around that poor business decisions. 🤦🏻♂️
When Epic opens, Disney’s attendance will continue to drop, and Disney will have to reevaluate the way they do business.
@@jimcharles9705 Yeah I hear ya. 👍🏼
Many of the add-ons are to take advantage of passholders who don't have to pay for hotels and can get passes to go frequently.
Being retired military I can stay at Shades of Green for about $200 a night. I can get a 5 day park hopper pass for $385 a person. I would say in light of what Adam is saying this is reasonable 🤷🏻♂️. Plus food , ride passes and souvenirs …
You do know that the lightning Lane Premiere passes only for guests that are staying at Disney's Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa resorts.
@@lorraineraymond9565 what does that have anything to do with it? You know pass holders still stay at hotels right?
@travis962 only if you stay at a Deluxe resort. I didn't say anything about annual passholders
I’m sure if Walt was alive today, he’d tell you to hit the road and see the national parks.
Disney has jumped the shark! This new Lighting Lane Premier is way to expensive. I have been a annual passholder for over 10 years in Disneyland & DCA. I REFUSE to buy this new LLP! I am so mad at Disney! Bad MOVE!!!
The regular lightning lane will be called the Semi Dirtbag line now.
Then don't buy it? Problem solved... are you so mad at Chevrolet because they make $15k and $150k cars?
@@Dino55316 What if I want a $200.000. Chevy? How many coats of paint sealer do I need to buy for that? Maybe they can add three or four layers of floor mats or something.
Disney introduced the lighting lane to get ratings?
