I’ve walked around Hollywood Blvd a couple of times in my life, and it’s definitely not what I’d expected. My friend and I were doing the tourist thing there in ‘93, and we noticed some film trucks on a side street with a policeman watching over things. The policeman said that there was a movie scene being shot in the restaurant that we were all standing behind. He said that Joe Pesci was in the movie, and in the scene that was being filmed. So we waited a few minutes, and people started coming out of the back door of the restaurant, but we didn’t see Pesci. We were about to walk away when I saw Pesci in the passenger seat of a Towne Car on the street right in front of me, and he had the window down while they were waiting at a red light to turn onto Hollywood Blvd. I asked Joe if I could get a picture with him really quick, and he said sure. So I’m standing on the street shaking Joes hand and making small talk, but my friend couldn’t get his camera to work. The light turned green for them, and they were nice enough to wait a bit, but I thanked him and told him we didn’t want to hold them up any longer. And of course, as soon as I walked away my friend yelled that he got the camera to work…Joe heard that and we have a couple of pics of him sticking his head out of the car looking back and waving at us. I’m glad that happened because the only other things I remember about the area were a lot of Scientologists offering free ‘readings’, and how run down the area looked.
Adam, that was like a walk in the past. I loved this one. The reality of Hollywood (broken dreams) and how time keeps moving. You are just the best. Thanks Adam.
The lack of tourist visiting LA is why many of the businesses along the Walk of Fame have closed. German in Venice (G.I.V.) has talked about how tourism in Los Angeles has dropped off these past few years, especially international tourism, and G.I.V. went so far as to close his shop at Venice Beach.
Hello Adam David here I been a movie buff and a fan of Disneyland for over fifty years, and a fan of yours for many years. Thanks for the tour of downtown Hollywood. I owned a very little part of Hollywood in downtown Palo Alto California, very close to Stanford university called Movie Memories poster shop. We sold original and reproduction movie posters black and white photos and rock posters. I had 3 celebrities come into my shop over the years Joan Baez, Neil Young and Fred Savage from the wonder years. In front of his restaurant in Palo Alto I got to chat with Francis Ford Coppola. Everyone was very nice didn’t have a chance to ask for an autograph, but I will never forget my encounters with them. See you at the movies! 😎

Hi Adam, another well done video from you on Hollywood Blvd. I grew up here in S. Ca., L.A. County, and I have not been down there in some time. During the Summer tourism months they do indeed have clean up crews working so it doesn't get too trashy down there on the Blvd. I love to go to Larry Edmund's bookstore on the Blvd. and talk to Jeff behind the counter. I got to meet actress Mamie Van Doren and actress Julia Adams there when they signed their recent books. This was 11 or 12 years ago. Remember it well. Ms. Mamie let me take a photo with her for free but I had to kneel down next to her as she was sitting in her chair. She had her left hand on my right knee. lolol She said I was a tall drink of water. hahaha I will never forget that as long as I live. Keep up the great work!

Hi Adam, my girlfriend now my wife lived on Sycamore, between Hollywood and Franklin back in the '80s. I always shopped at Hollywood Liqueur and the pizza and hamburgers at Andres Pizza next door Across the street before the Rite Aid or whatever there is now, used to be historical Brown's Ice Cream Parlor, famous for their Tin Roof Sunday. My wife and I were disappointed when we heard that Snow White's was no more, we used to go there for breakfast before my girlfriend went to work at Fredericks of Hollywood, she was a sales girl there. Hollywood has really changed, great vlog, thanks.

Hollywood boulevard is the epitome of the American saying. "It doesn't matter if it's any good, as long as it makes money." America. Ruining nice things for over a 100 years.
I really enjoyed this one because I enjoy the Walk of Fame Stars never been there but it was nice to see some of them maybe you could do another one and focus on those more the stars and it was nice to see them after doing the Carl Weathers ceremony I didn't know who some of them were but that was very fun watching them come by and do autographs. Thanks for showing us East coast folks the area! I'm so sheltered lol
So cool talking g to Carol. Put a smile on my face Adam. Thanks for the video. Good Old Hollywood. Now I have Celluloid Heroes by The Kinks going through my mind.
That was a great day of randomness. I back packed around the world in 2010. When I got to LA, I had pre-booked a hostel opposite The Chinese Theatre. Little did I know that 'hostels' in America are not like the rest of the world. Across from the theatre ( more or less ) there is a parade of shops, and a doorway with a stairs. The hostel was above a liquour store. When the guy at check in saw that I was a proper back packer from Europe, he said "I'm gonna put you in a room on your own". So I was in a room with 2 bunk beds facing the street, with a neon sign blinking on and off all night ( just like in the movies ha ha ). The poor soul in the next room howled like a banshee all night. "Hostels" in America allow long term residency, and the guy at reception the next day said that most of the other people had mental health issues/ just out of prison. It was a trip ... Looks like Andy Dicks has got himself together finally. Some great people at Carl's star ( RIP ). "I can make it ... I can make it !"
Back in 2002-03, I lived on Whitley just north of Hollywood Blvd. The upstairs facade of the building at that corner you pointed out at 6:15 is used in Get Shorty as the front of Gene Hackman's dusty office.
There is so much more to California (e.g. Central area, wine country, coastal towns, natural beauty, mountains, deserts) than Hollywood and Los Angeles but you keep going to the same places over and over again. Hollywood Blvd was "weird and dirty" when you were there several times before, yet you're there again with the same description of the place as if anything was expected to change. Consider exploring more of the state.
Exactly!!! Theres so much more to California than the Basic ‘ Basic Tourist trap’ things…. Theres San Diego County, Northern California, Fresno. Ugh i miss it….
For sure don’t recommend Fresno. Sorry. Went to Kastner and Clovis West. I know the area. Also, those complaining that he isn’t exploring scenic countryside and things. You might be missing the point. Adam has always been about pop culture and nostalgia. P.S. My Papa, used to Walk his Siblings to the Pantages, back in the late 1950's to Watch all day long Cartoons, Movies etc.
Didn’t know that about the cartoons . That’s very cool
@@TheDailyWooYes! My Papa, said it was wonderful to spend all day at the Movies❤️
I was delighted to see Yul Brynner in The King and I at Pantages theater about 1978. Memories.
Wow what an honor to meet Carol Connors!
Adam: So cool seeing LeVar Burton. Here is some trivia you might enjoy. LeVar Burton's father, Lee Burton, was my boss in the 90s when I worked at the Disney Store and Market House in the Magic Kingdom, Florida.
That ROCKY lady is Rock and Roll history and you didn't even realize it.
That’s how it goes around there , Never know who is walking by.
Carol must b very wealthy if she can afford to live in Beverly Hills,!@@TheDailyWoo
Butterfly in the Sky!! I can go twice as high!! Ahhh, childhood in the 80s.
That was amazing meeting the co-writer of Gonna Fly Now! You find some very interesting topics, thanks for sharing today
Well Adam, that was certainly a fun interesting day on Hollywood Bl.you never know who or what you will see on the Bl.Nice video today from Universal Jamie.
Wow, what a fab day, loved the vlog, l need to visit from the UK
Hey Adam great video from Hollywood, CA..Walking down the hollywood walk of stars, meeting celebrities like Carol Connors, LeVar Burton and more..Enjoy your weekend..
Dang dude. You make some incredible hollywood blvd videos. Carl Weathers was a legend! Ding, ding!
It’s amazing what you can stumble on just walking the Blvd
@TheDailyWoo Both Good and strange!
Wow I absolutely loved this! I'm exited a thousand miles away. I would love to see stars and people behind the camera
Was thinking I may see you tonight at HOB Anaheim for “Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies” but since youre in LA, I doubt that would happen
Insane!!! Carl Weathers star ceremony with insane Hollywood celebs, right place at the right time 😎 some great actors came out to support!!! Amazing!
Great video Adam. That Star was right up your alley.
Watching from the UK and thoroughly enjoyed your walk about, very interesting and informative 🎬📽
To see Peewee still in window made me happy. Hollywood changes so much but still seeing Peewee Doll in window gives that area some type Consistency.
🤦
well that was a treat! great walk on the hollywood walk of fame that day.
I liked your tour. Lived there 1977-1980. Worked at now torn down Metromedia Square, home of Norman Lear Productions....worked at Pacific Bell. Watched, (All First Run)The Wiz @Cinerama Dome, The Amityville Horror, @The Hollywood Theatre. A Star Is Born, and The Main Event @Chinese Theatre, and at that time they called it "Mann's Chinese Theatre" Also loved your series on The Columbia/WB ranch.
That was Emily Swallow in the white suit dress who played the Armorer in the Mandalorian ! AND Bryce Dallas Howard!!! Wow you got there at the right time there, Adam! :D
Pretty dang cool I like that show
I thought that was Emily Blunt at first. Nobody recognized her without her armor. I’d go nuts being that close to Bryce Dallas Howard, I just love her… total fanboy. I’d be going Bryce Bryce I love your work.
I lived in the Gershwin for three years about 2013 through 2015. The boulevard is an amazing place. I'm glad some new construction is cleaning up some of the old buildings.
Genuinely one of the grottiest places I have seen
Hey Adam
This is the first time watching the channel in a good while
You look so different and much healthier/great
Didn’t know you lost all that weight
That’s great keep it up 👍🏽
Carl Weathers ❤I was lucky enough to have met LeVar Burton at Paramount years ago. Nice to see that he's still so gracious.
We started watching you right as you were moving out of Hollywood. Been watching you pretty much everyday for six years! 😊❤
Thanks for watching all this time
@@TheDailyWoo thank YOU! 🙏
We just went to El Coyote on Beverly Blvd, which was in Once Upon of Time in Hollywod. It was great and definitely old Hollywood. We want to try Casa Vega next. How about a Griffith Observatory video while you're in the area? Or maybe a Paramount or Sony studio tour?
The decay is really sad 😢
Great video, was that the chap out of Lupin? With the autograph hunters? Cracking series on Netflix.
Loved this 👍 great job
Thanks for the virtual tour!
I wonder if Hollywood has a restoration society to keep these stars and cement handprints/signatures from deteriorating…..
I love that you referred to the movie Waiting for David Koechner, didn't think many people appreciated that unknown comedy. "I do pretty well"
Fun fact: writing a name in red ink in Asian culture, and probably other cultures, means death or ill-will towards the person.
Great video and still makes me laugh your video with the guy coming out the pavement when you did Hollywood before
I wouldn't recognize any one famous if I tripped over them! 🤣 But, I'm curious as to why Levar Burton won't dign in red ink. Google doesn't know.
as a mega Disney fan on my childhood and mega fan of all things american/Hollywood this wud be my IDEA of heaven just to BE IN the vicinity of whare the world's most famous superstars once stood! wow ur SO lucky! x
Can’t believe no one knew who Emily Swallow is! She just sailed past everyone!
Is she the one who got asked "are you?"...ummm no
I thought it was her, and as soon as she said, "I'm Emily..." Love that she was there for Greef Karga.
I always enjoy your Hollywood Blvd videos!
I'm a big fan of star trek tng. It's cool seeing Levar Burton. I was fortunate to get a chance to meet him at megacon orlando a few years ago. He was extremely friendly and gracious.
He seemed very nice
@@TheDailyWoo But why no red ink???? Inquiring minds want to know.
@@d__g615just a guess… Some cultures believe that if you write someone’s name in red it means that person will soon be dead.
Billy Barty was a dear friend. I hadn't seen his star, thanks. Good to see him there on the sidewalk
Wow that was Carol Connors! I would love to read her book!
You always know who the nice stars are, who stop and sign autographs. Not like that snoot, Larry David. Great video Adam!
WHO wants Larry David's autograph anyhow??
Hollywood boulevard is the epitome of the American saying. "It doesn't matter if it's any good, as long as it makes money." America. Ruining nice things for over a 100 years.
Hollywood looks good in pictures only in reality it is a big disappointment.😮😅
I really enjoyed this one because I enjoy the Walk of Fame Stars never been there but it was nice to see some of them maybe you could do another one and focus on those more the stars and it was nice to see them after doing the Carl Weathers ceremony I didn't know who some of them were but that was very fun watching them come by and do autographs. Thanks for showing us East coast folks the area! I'm so sheltered lol
I love your Southern Cal vids!
Thank you
You never disappoint, Woo. ❤
So cool talking g to Carol. Put a smile on my face Adam. Thanks for the video. Good Old Hollywood. Now I have Celluloid Heroes by The Kinks going through my mind.
Yep. Me, too. It's been a long time since I've heard that classic song. Will be playing it (probably a few times) later today.
Thanks Adam good as usual appreciate you 💯 your great
That was a great day of randomness.
I just love your virtual tours!
💖 red Skeleton was my 3 rd cousin
Ugh i miss it….
lol nailed it
Fresno is like the armpit of America
For sure don’t recommend Fresno. Sorry. Went to Kastner and Clovis West. I know the area. Also, those complaining that he isn’t exploring scenic countryside and things. You might be missing the point. Adam has always been about pop culture and nostalgia. A giant Sequoia is pretty and majestic and all, but anyone who’s watched his channel for years should know what they are getting into when watching his content.
I’m fascinated by the place and always like checking in. Don’t know what else to tell ya
I knew this video was coming out today 😂 classic
I love some Hollywood Blvd weirdness
Thanks for doing the dirty work and showing us the latest and greatest (and not so greatest) from Hollyweird!
It’s kinda fun honestly . I love walking the Blvd
💯- You never know who or what you’ll see there. It’s cool when celebs are able to talk with people and share their stories.
