- One of my favorite villains outside of anime, and he's criminally underrated, but cuz of resurging hype from Teen Titans GO to the movies and a possible OG Teen Titans return, let's talk about the awesomeness of Deathstroke, uh, i mean Deadpool...
Best DC Super villain after the Dark Knight Joker, and the Deepest Cartoon Villain of all time... in my humble opinion XD

Slade won his plan was turning them into teen titans go
Youssef Hany if that was his plan then he is truly evil and a true villain.
No man can be that evil. Must have been a wamen who thought this up in the boardroom amarite? (bah dum chhh)
That FUCKING BASTARD!!
Probably the most horrid thing a villain has ever done
Yes it was a villain plan
But it was Control Freak's
Slade may be weaker physically, but his overall training and intelligence makes him stronger.
Oh trust me. A normal human getting punched by deathstroke would die. He's a super soldier. The only reason Robin doesn't die is because of his training. He pushed his body and wears protective body armor
Jacob Dodson oh shit right he is a super soldier isn’t he damn!
He also can use 90% of his brain
Tbh he was a better villain than Brain and the Brother hood in my opinion
It’s because death stroke is not weak
But Thanos was originally just a dude that wanted to *bone* Death.
Not enough emphasis on bone.
Josh Brown Thanos wanted to *_BONE_* Death.
Thank you.
Do not forget that Thanos wasn't the only one...
Deadpool....Captain....Deadpool...
They even had a kid
Slade, aka Deathstroke is actually the perfect villian for the titans because he despises them for personal reasons regarding his son and his death. Deathstroke is unique in the aspect that he broke the mold for some of DC's villain line up as he was more three dimensional in design. He is also a perfect villain for Robin because he is like the opposite of his mentor, Batman, in terms of Philosophy and isn't above psychological warfare to strike at the heart of the Titans utilizing Terra, whom he had a relationship with, in effort to break their spirits by showing them the world is not what they think it is, revealing its darker aspects.
In this version they never explained his back story and motivations
Not gonna lie, I probably couldn't have said it better myself
I know that’s right 💯 because Deathstroke is my boy my favorite villain/Antihero of all time lol and yes he’s the perfect villain for the titans.... not to mention in the cartoon this man was so clutch he had no use for his katana or hand guns, he used a bo staff after his resurrection but that’s all I got to say 💯💯💯💯
That sounds like villain that would be good for anyone not specifically the titans.
@@fightingmedialounge519 especially for mha a great villain for someone like deku and Bakugou well the version where he is still powerless
Slade's most OP characteristic is he's voiced by Ron Pearlman.
Joker=chaotic evil, Thanos=lawfully evil, slade=neutrally evil
*Ozymandias= Naturally Evil
Fate reference
Doomguy= ohFUCK
Fate reference? Came off as a Dungeons and Dragons reference to me
Thanos is actually Neutral Good, and Slade would be True Neutral. Thanos believes he is doing the right thing, believes the laws should be made around that or, failing that, breaks the laws (or conquers the area and reshapes the laws) to obtain it. It doesn't mean that he really is good, but the alignment is based more on benevolent philanthropy vs malevolent misanthropy.
Likewise, Slade isn't evil. He's ruthless in pursuing his own goals, but he's not seeking to harm anyone else through malevolence. They're a means to an end. Evil would be harming others simply for the sake of harming others, similar to how good is helping others simply for the sake of helping others.
In the same sense, the Punisher would also be considered to have a "Good" alignment in most incarnations.
Edit: It's important to note that character alignments are part of a character's personality and philosophy, and as such have less to do with real ethics or laws and more to do with a sort of order vs anarchy and benevolence vs malevolence with a wide spectrum of nuance intended. It's about a character's approach, not how successful or rational it is, and is partially made up of how they view themselves and their intentions.
A little heads up, The reason Robin though he saw Slade and fought him what's because the chemical dust in Slade's old gear he touched made him who hallucinate, not because he had PTSD.
Maybe Robin's PTSD got exaggerated by the chemical dust. A shame we never find out how the dust got there, it was clearly something they planned to reveal, but never did.
Greatsaiyakirby in my opinion slade was deathstroke and my theory 🤷🏾♂️he probably had some of scarecrows fear venom on his old gear or somehow used some on robin at a point of time in teen titans timeline
@@TheYungjay82 Slade IS Deathstroke. They're the same character
@@TheYungjay82 the scarecrow toxin is a good theory, and yes, Slade is Deathstroke, Cartoon Network wouldnt let them call him Deathstroke because of the word death, and Deathstrokes name in the comics is Slade Wilson, thats why they call him Slade
Thank you!!!
Obviously Slade is just a pawn in Black Zetsu’s master plan
He probably has Hashirama cells as well
@@vision313 senju dna
Came back to life too, just like madara
Zetsu may be a pawn in Slade's plan (much written than I want my mommy zetsu)
@@vision313 so that means he has wood style
Honestly, Slade is a very interesting reflection of Batman. He is basically a morally grey Batman.
Salman Ige yep he is
Salman Ige That's why DC kinda changed him to a Batman villain in the comics.
Although not entirely, he still fights Green Arrow and the Titans a lot.
"Who knows, I could be like a father to you"
"I already have a father."
But Batman never has a overarching plan. He rides around in his battle prius jumps out and punches bad guys in the face. Sometimes he instead uses shiny new toys instead of his fists but its mostly his fists. Batman has no plan and as such is not like Slade who is 90% plan, 10% actually getting the plan done(punching). If Batman had a well thought out plan first thing on the list would be kill the Joker and don't give a flying flip if he thinks he won a philosophical victory.
Batman is known in DC as one of the world's greatest strategists and Detectives, he is both a fighter and an insane planner. Plenty of storylines revolve around just how many plans he alreayd has in place.
Little did Nux know even Slade was just a pawn in Lord Twigo’s game.
Ron Perlman's vocal performance is a big reason why Slade is such a good villain. His voice is very intimidating but cool at the same time.
Agreed
My dream is that Slade is adapted into this mastermind villain, never shows his face on-screen, is instead played by a top-tier stuntman in the suit, and voiced over by Ron Pearlman, like James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader.
Slade is the living embodiment of “I know what you are, but what am I?”
Literally all I could think of whenever I saw him in the og series. He scared the fuck out of me everytime he appeared and I loved it
@@kianrodriguez4455 he always had the answers
Joey Wilson( Slade's kid) in the show yet don't mention that it's him
( Jericho blonde kid emerald eyes. Mute
Yeah he's only mute becaus Slade didn't get to him in time to save him from getting his throat slit( summer assassin shit)
(Which caused Slade and his wife to get a divorce which is why he's looking for apprentices
he's lonely. He lost the kids in the divorce
Why did he have a bone to pick with the Titans? Well they were implicated in the death of his other son Grant
Honestly, Jericho and Grant were treated better by Slade in the comics. Original run of the Judith contract ( Jericho was the Judas for Wilson's family and Tara was the Judas for the Titans.
Oh and Tara was just a psychopath who actively wanted the Titans destroyed. Comics are weird.
To sum up slates backstory in the comics It's I lost the kids in the divorce and I'm bored

I thought Slade from the Teen Titans series was amazing. Every time he was in an episode I was so excited to see what he would do. I think Slade is one of the reasons I enjoyed Teen Titans as much as I did. The writing seemed pretty good too, but it has been a while since I've watched it so I may be wrong.
adamgtrap it’s still good and a classic
Season 6 hype
Slade was my favorite character
I got 14 episodes of teen titans on my phone, all with slade in it.
Can we mention the fact slade had a sexual relationship with terra
Terras like 14
Cooper Dickey in the comics and Norman Osborn already did that
@@Deathmare235 Actually, the Norman and Gwen affair was revealed AFTER the Clone Gwen and Jackal affair and Deathstroke and Terra affair even though it did indeed occur before chronologically !
He also ripped off Raven's clothes until she was almost naked in the episode Birthmark. Yeah, Slade is pretty damn pervy.
FBI OPEN UP!
I wouldn't exactly call Slade "weak" though. Sure, in the grand scheme of things he can't fly or shoot flames out of his hands (at least until Season 4), but he's surely a force to be reckoned with in his own right. He has combat skills comparable to those of Batman and demonstrates superhuman levels of strength as well as durability throughout the show. He is extremely fast and agile for a man his size, and strong enough to manhandle Robin with relative ease and go toe to toe with the Beast Boy. This is obviously on top of all of his genius as a strategic mastermind.
Now if Slade's comic book powers and abilities can also be considered canon within the Teen Titans universe, then he also possesses a healing factor, albeit nowhere near as extensive as that of Deadpool or Wolverine, but one that still allows him to survive certain fatal wounds such as being impaled in the chest by a sword, and apparently even regenerate lost limbs and nerve damage. Additionally on a side note, his enhanced healing apparently decelerates his aging to such an extent that he is virtually rendered immortal.
It should be noted that comic book Deathstroke has also demonstrated cojones to single-handedly take on the entire Justice League and nearly come out on top.
Could Slade be Bruce Wayne or there's no way about that ?
@@clementmukundji5526 No... He's Slade Wilson.

Thats kind of what I think is funny really, it's never referenced in the teen titans but slade is deathstroke, one of the best assassins in the world, has a limited regenerative factor, has military experience, and i'm pretty sure has physical strength on par with captain america.
@@Nyghtking lol its never refrenced? Bruh look up Deathstrokes name lol. This is like if in teen titans they call batman bruce the whole time and your like i dont think its actually mentioned but i think that bruce guy might be batman.
Slade is a villain so good at getting into people's heads, that if you've seen any episode that he's in, he's probably already playing with your mind from just you seeing him for a few minutes.
And that's why we love the PTSD-inducing bastard. :D
MIND MANIPULATION @_@
Slade's one of my favorite villains ever. So much subtlety and subterfuge. That's how you make a great villain, keeping the fans in suspense and attacking the heroes not just physically but psychologically and even making them question their own morality. Slade, The Joker, Handsome Jack and Kefka are my all-time favorites. Also RIP BB & Terra, that was such a harsh ending.
Wow, when you said DS was the anti-batman, it added weight to the whole Slade-Robin relationship that I never even realized.
Robin was fleeing Batman's shadow, and thus, Bats could be seen as a sort of demon that must be conquered. Slade is like the representation of ALL Robin was fighting against: a tangible foe, a mental demon (hallucination episode), and his sidekick/batfamily roots (apprentice story arc).
Finally, by defeating human Slade, turning the lights on, and accepting that he already has a father, he was able to grow exponentially.
Slade was at his most terrifying during the episode haunted, the one you talked about where Robin saw visions of Slade. It was so shocking watching that episode because out of all the titans, Robin had the strongest mental fortitude and set an example for his team. Seeing Slade terrorize Robin and cause him to lose himself, while not even being there, is what makes him so threatening imo. I think the relationship between Slade and Robin is similar to that of an abusive father and his son, cause those who were abused as children tend to become abusers later in life, like how Robin began to act like Slade whilst trying to stop him. There’s also the psychological effects Robin suffered that could be similar to PTSD, it’s an interesting comparison imo.
That episode gave me nightmares for years... now I understand why
I like your comment but feel compelled to suggest to you that ppl who are abused as children do not tend to abuse their children. If that were true then abuse would be abundantly common to the point where it would be the normal. That's just math. If the parents have 2 or 3 kids who also abuse and keep going and going... You get the point. The world is a better place than ppl would have you think, and the ppl who live in more resilient than ppl in power would like you to know.
I guess Robin just really hates Deathstroke I mean it would’ve been pretty similar for the other titans especially Cyborg
Even the creators said that Slade doesn’t need to know you personally to get to you and he can attack you from anywhere …
Nux: “Im so excited for season 6”
Me: [sheds a single tear] me too...
When I was little, I thought Slade was a batman who became disillusioned, and Robin was fighting his master because he still believed in being a hero. No joke. It was so much cooler in my head.
Slade's motives was so mysterious, even the writers had trouble figuring out what it was. Pretty damn awesome villain.

"There must always be a Batman."
"There must always be a Lich King."

"There must always be a Dearthstroke."

One of the interesting things about Slade is that he actually learns from his encounters. In the end of season 1, he got his shit wrecked when he had to deal with the entire team, and as a result he never fought outside of one-on-one fights.
He is definitely my favorite villain. That voice and his calm disposition are unforgettable. He helped inspire a villain I'm writing.

To be honest, when I was a kid, it was the only explanation I can think of. Why would Slade, who has been constantly testing the titans and finally have a way to smite them all when Robin got himself infested with the nano machines, choose not to? I don't understand it. BlueVortex01 lmao slade is deathstroke in the comics, in teen titans hes a super-villain and in the comics hes just a merc. Actually i use the word "just" lightly seeing as he beat batman in every single encounter they had he single handedly took down the JL at one point. He also single handedly beat the suicide-squad.
He is good in arrow too, then he gets put in a silly motivation, than he gets redeemed again. He is good as olivers bro.
Slade is probably the best executed villain in teen titans, and trigon.

Also don't think I didn't hear that Homestuck music in the video. I approve.
I'd always figured that "Slade" felt like a more threatening name. "Deathstroke" can seem like he's trying too hard to be a supervillain.
@@Thalanox He isn't actually a Super Villain...more of a highly intelligent Anti-Villain. Most of his beef with the heroes is strictly personal. Including the Titans.
A week old, but I think you meant his beef was strictly professional/business. After all generally the most important thing for him was just making money(besides in TT), every fight or battle he got into was just someone hiring him to do a job. He was a bounty hunter/mercenary through and through.

Lex Luther: Pretty much proto Superman
Slade: Being mysterious is his character trait. That is all

L: Japanese Equivalent of Batman
Shigaraki Tomura: Edgelord learning to grow out of his edgy phase in order to become a great villain
One For All: Basically Apocalypse from X-Men
Garou: The ending of Unbreakable
I guess you could say that but they are deeper then that lol

You’re using the word Archetype wrong, there is an archetype Joker and Slade fit into. It’s called force of nature.
Edit: archetypes are a set of traits a character can fit into, similiar to stereotypes but not the same. There are tons of listed archetypes not two.
Such as the Archer Archetype: Archers in fiction are typically distant, cold, focused, patient, and precise. They also use a bow, that's very important. There's a lot of overlap with the Sniper Archetype too.

While I don't agree with insulting him its clear like many youtubers who primarily make videos on Anime, he clearly only has knolwedge of DC/Marvel from movies or animation which isn't really fair to the characters as they are often changed or downright lose alot of interesting histroy to compress them down into a different medium.
His generlization of DC and Marvel fans at first really through me off and almost made me not want to watch the video. How he says what DC and marvel fans think is a good villain but he hasn't seemed to read a comic in his life or at least not the same extent to manga
Slade isn't a force of nature villain like joker
Hey Nux when will we see the honest descriptions of every kage?
Late as hell to make a comment but shit, I was on a DC comic/Teen Titan binge sooo, here we go.
Slade scared the absolute shit out of me as a kid, but in a very very weird way. He literally was like the Titans' own personal Boogeyman,. Not even just because of his thematic relativity to Robin, Uber-creep factor and the more dark and sinister undertones of his relation to Characters like Raven and Terra. Dude was scary BECAUSE of literally every reason Nux brought up. He wasn't a very in-your-face-Im-gonna-fuck-your-shit-up-and-maybe-your-mom-too-in-the-process sort of Villain. Not a Hulk smash one and yet definitely not a Noble Thanos sorts.
But you knew just as soon as he popped up on screen, heard that deep voice or even heard him mentioned, that it served some deeper purpose to the plot and all the temporary levity of anything the Titans were doing at the moment or any momentary peace was just that. Momentary. Because in any situation, if Slade was so much as mentioned, let alone involved, then shit was going to go down. Hard.
Not to mention the Underlying heavily Creepy moments with him and Raven or Terra, which struck some deep, primal fear in me even as a kid (years before some really personal stuff and unfortunately Abuse began in my life.)
Even if it seems like he's heavily mysterious, complex and unknowable with some super intrinsic role in the Plot of Teen Titans, as a 5-14 year old, I didn't have to know or appreciate all of that to know that Slade was one Scary Motherfucker and definitely not someone to be overlooked as far as top tier villains go.
(Sorry this is long. Had to rant!!!)
Slade always gave me the chills. I never knew how or why, his presence always seemed so lowkey and minimal that I felt like he *should* be a non-threat no matter how obviously he was a HUGE one.
Perhaps that's how he got in under my skin personally... I would honestly rather have Joker after me than Slade; at least I'd know the Clown Prince would only want me to suffer and die somehow. Better the devil you know, right?
First of all, they have to be very very smart and not too powerful, maybe stronger than the protagonist but nothing world breaking. They have to be able to get into the protagonist's head and be more or less manipulative so that it gives the threat that they are actually human and will give you a bad day on accident, but teen Titans Slade falls into all these categories seeing as he mindfu**Ed Robin on multiple occasions and he constantly beats the Titans with plans and not strength, that's why I feel Slade is one of the best villians out of any show
Shadow Williams Yeah, David Xanatos says “Hi” btw.

Shadow Williams Oh well I was referencing one of the villains of that show, Xanatos, who basically fit in the role of great villains who uses their genius and mind games to beat the heroes. Though I would argue he’s kind of a better character as, unlike Slade, the show allows Xanatos to be a bit more of a complex character in his own right with noticiable character development as the series progress and hidden depths which makes him more than just a usual villainous character with no morality. Which is really a shame for Slade as in the comics he was a more complicated character than some mysterious evil mastermind who wants to take over the city or something (and he was called Deathstroke).

11:35 Hey I recognize that image. Oh...
*Cue SpongeBob saying "I'm a dirty boi..."*
I don't know what it is, but I'm willing to guess it's some teen titans hentai made by a r34 artist.
@@jugemujugemugokonosurikire4735 I'll save you the time wondering about it; it's from a hentai. The watermark in the bottom right can further clue you in to this fact
Nux shouts at the TV, probably watched Dora the explorer as a kid
Anyone know who the made the Strength of a Thousand Men remix that's being played at the end of the song. I can't find it anywhere 😱
Nux
Slade is only 2nd best girl.
You have to do an analysis on best girl Raven
Remember Cell funny how he hasnt been brought back in db series
I shriek and starting burning like a vampire faced against a cross at midday whenever a teen titans go clip or picture is shown.
This is a good video, you make very good and interesting points for every subject you touch upon (even if briefly) and you clearly have a very deep knowledge of what you're talking about,
But
Jesus dude
Calm down
Your editing, way of speech, and yelling is at such a breakneck pace I need to put the video on 0.25 speed just to understand you
-sans undertale-
Where is no one understand DIO from jojo
Papa Franku i understand he was gay and sociopatict, and goes full pisyco when become a vampire.
He's not all that complicated.
Avdol overhype him
Eduardo Souza Wrong.
Justin Thompson Wrong.
So, I still don't understand why learning Slade's motivations would make his actions lesser. You say it would, but I don't really see why.
It'll take away an attribute of the character the mystery and psychological edge on the viewer and Titans. That he could be up to anything an unpredictable villian because we don't know his motives making him an effective villian keeping info from the titans and the viewers leaving us wanting more. Plus more info like the star wars prequel can ruin an concept or idea or character
“ a magician never reveals his secrets. “ to reveal the clockwork removes the interest and the mystery.
Canaan_Crystal wing Debatable.
Canaan_Crystal wing Maybe so, but if it's slowly unraveled I see no problem with it.
I think it's because in the cartoon slade feels like a force of nature, something that just cannot be stopped, once you give that character motivations, he becomes humanized therefore diminishing his presence as unstoppable force
I like that you are doing more than just anime Nux. It is kinda refreshing
I think it is reasonable to surmise that Slade’s main goal (at least in part) was a sadistic desire to cause misery. He wanted the “oh so heroes” to suffer, both physically and mentally; to make those who were powerful to feel powerless.
Best Villian
Marvel : Kilmonger
DC : Slade
Naruto : Pain
Dc should be joker
It was such a good show. I really enjoyed the series and was sad to see it end. I was even more saddened that Titans GO! came out. It just didn't do it justice. I really enjoyed this video good job! You should do a video on Raven and the Chicken of DARKNESS!
Well teen titans go is a parody but atleast we have season 6 and young justice
Slade was a beast and his interactions with Robin was one of the best hero villain parts of the show. Robin vs the Anti-Batman. Very much coming of age for a young hero.
Even though Slade is only a man spared to Raven's father and other super-powered villian he was easily the most threatening villian in the series
Hey nux, I hear that Atomic Bonsai ',:3c can we see an op analysis on Jade Harley in the possible future :?
Edit: spelling error
Knew I couldn't be the only one who heard that.
Most Witch classpects have shades of OP
Mind manipulation
thats right
I didn´t expect a comicbook character on your channel, I love it.
I love your explanations so much. I am so happy I subscribed
Aye man Nux you're awesome bro. I appreciate watching your videos either it be serious or satire. I would love for you to do a video on Black Lagoon and to hear your opinion on it.
Oooh nostalgia points for this gem of an idea! 👌
Oh shit the gear symbolism. That's awesome. I didn't think of that, for some reason.
Really solid video. Your excitement about Slade is incredibly infectious. I'd definitely love to hear more of your thoughts about the series in the future :)
And thank you so much for the shout-out. I'm sure as someone who's worked hard to get where you're at on TH-cam, you know just how helpful and meaningful that can be. It's awesome that you'd do that. Again, thank you. I hope the fambase destroys my comments lmao
Deathstroke is a character inhuman enough to be threatening and imposing both mentally and physically, while still being grounded enough to where it’s not perceived as laughable or ridiculous.
He does not emote. He is not amused. In his voice you can detect no amusement, and so be plays little to no games similar to The Batman.
His consistency to overtake The Titans puts the sight of his existence something to be concerned about as long as he opposes them.
An uncompromising dominant figure.
This is something I like about certain DC Villains.
Joker’s risk is that he has no origin, on the surface that sounds boring but the pay off is satisfying considering the execution of said conception.
Darkseid sounds generic, but what he stands for and his lore carries him to be a memorable imposing figure.
Deathstroke in theory shouldn’t work, you don’t know what he wants, but he’s executed in a way that leaves impact.
Even when they gave Deathstroke immortality it fit his vibes of the impossible threat that just keeps walking forward, you can try to push him back, but he’ll return at some point.
Genuinely came across this video without knowing it was Nux; I only realised halfway through after the voice grated my ears enough (in a good way) hahaha!
Can we get hokage honest descriptions
Didn't he already do that?
Or did I just get r/whooshed?
No No /r/whooshed
Do you wanna know how i got this mask?
Slade terrified me as a child.
Remember how Slade played mind games with Robin to make him think he was actually giving him the worst beating in heroic history, when really he was never in his presence at all? One of the Robins he tried that trick with actually fought someone who wore that same costume as him. Even better? In revealing the plan Slade had for both The Hive and the second Robin, he took advantage of that information and proceeded to work alongside the other Robin. Best episode ever.
they called slade because the censors wouldnt let them use death stroke
richcreek I kind of think slade sounds cooler than Deathstroke.
11:35 is my favorite image

Wonderful video!
The description of your villain, was great. That's a reason I LOVE Task Master
