  • UPDATE: Renewal has replaced the problem windows and offered me compensation for the headache I went through.
I've had a terrible experience with Renewal by Andersen Knoxville. This video shows the inferior windows and my experience with customer support.

Amazing. I am looking at these windows now up here in Chicago. I am visiting their showroom tomorrow to ask many technical questions, and I think I will show them this video. While customer service is a local issue, the quality from the plant is unacceptable. I’m also waiting for a quote from Marvin, but they dont seem to care about my project. Its only 29 huge windows and 2 sliding doors!! Great detail, thanks for the information. Sorry you had to suffer through this mess. Your house “log home” is a dream!!

These appear to be Andersen, not Renewal By Andersen windows. RBA windows have morter and reason joints in the corners. Not 45 degree angle joints.
It looks like you have the Andersen fiberglass windows. I could be wrong. No RBA windows have joints in the corners that are angled for the exact reasons you are pointing out that are giving you issues.

I AGREE DO NOT USE RENEWAL BY ANDERSEN! Ordered the windows and doors in January 2022 and it's not June 2022 and the job is still not done! To this day 4/19/23 we are still having issues with our back door not closing properly and our 3 piece windows is still leaking. It’s frustrating and upsetting. Sadly I can’t recommend this company in California.

Ordered in May 2021 and still not complete. Installers did not even pull permits as they said they would in the contract. The main Renewal by Andersen in Minn does NOT stand behind the - "We are a full-service window and patio door replacement company-meaning, we own our entire process, from start to finish. From the initial design consult to custom manufacturing; from installation and service to warranty coverage…it’s all Renewal by Andersen. You will have the peace of mind that comes from knowing there is one-company accountability, a single point of contact, for the life of your windows. - Installers were completely unprofessional and not certified as promised by RBA.

Dealing with the same nightmare. Ordered 21 windows and a door - all Coastal Impact High Performance Impact Resistant SmartSun Glass from Renewal by Anderson Florida. The door is a disaster and doesn't close properly. One window came in white where as the other 20 came in black as ordered. Only 20 windows were actually delivered although 21 ordered. One window came in with its frame completely destroyed, but they already cut out the original window so installed the broken one while we wait 2-3 months for the replacement. One window came in with a broken pane, with a grill (which wasn't ordered) and it closes 1/2 automatically so won't stay fully open. The door doesn't close right and has 1/8 inch give and rocks in place. I live in hurricane land so if we get winds like we had with Hurricane Ian last year, there is no way it will hold up. The door is also black, but unlike the windows which are made of Fibrex, the door is wood and is painted black which chips off so easily. The windows and door have residue between panes as the video describes. Numerous other issues with the windows, the installation, and the sales process. DO NOT BY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I had 16 windows replaced by Renewal by Andersen in June 2021. I paid $35,000 for High Performance Low E4 Smart Sun windows using my 4O1K money. All the windows leak in cold air very badly. I put plastic over some of the windows that face the West and I'm appalled at the plastic that bulges into the room, I live in Ohio. I called the company and they sent out Shane who stayed 15 minutes and put in very small" H sponges" along the sides of two windows. He only had 3 sponges with him and said someone would be back. I got a feeling I had the wrong windows installed in my home. The windows are way WORSE than the windows that were removed.

I wanted to turn the living room window into 4 smaller windows, one for the air-conditioned and 3 to open when needed. The dining room window should look the same, so it would mean changing to 3 windows. I was told no I could only get sliders to replace both windows. The sales man would not listen, where am I going to put my a/c unit if there's no window to hold it in place. I don't understand how anyone thinks they have the right to tell me what I can do with my own house. I asked him to leave. I was finished with being told that I could not have what I wanted. Crazy that they have a 20k price cut but I get some people fall for that stuff.
