    I've only been watching for a little under a year but since then I have gotten a kitchen aid mixer, got the pasta attachments, made homemade pasta for the very first time, made homemade ranch, made homemade brown sugar, and made the most amazing pie crust from scratch (that my family absolutely loved for Thanksgiving)!! ALL because you have been such an amazing inspiration! I would never have done any of those things in the past but watching you has renewed my love for the kitchen. I'm so grateful to have found your channel! We just love you around here Becky!

    Please place the CO² detector down close to the floor. It doesn't work up at the ceiling as CO² falls to the floor not like smoke where it rises to the ceiling. I used sell the stuff and the fire dept told us this info so when I see this anywhere I can't help but inform people so they can avoid issues because of an incorrectly installed CO² detector.

    • @convivialgirl
      @convivialgirl ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would anyone have a CO2 detector unless you are adding CO2 as plant food? She SAID CO2 but I think she meant to say it was a Carbon Monoxide detector. CO2 is plant food. Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas that will kill you in large amounts. They are very very different.

    • @lisalittle7484
      @lisalittle7484 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this is true for the radon detector too. When you test for radon the test is placed 3 feet from ground, so maybe its a heavier gas and best detected at lower levels. I have a house that has a mitigation system running continuously in order to reduce radon to safe level. So wise of you to be aware and take action concerning radon. Many blessings to you and prayers for baby's anticipated arrival.

      @@lisalittle7484 "The preferred device location is near an interior wall at a height of 0.8 m to 2 m (3 to 6.5 feet) from the floor in the typical breathing zone, at least 50 cm (20 inches) from the ceiling and 20 cm (8 inches) from other objects so as to allow normal airflow around the detector." This is for the radon detectors where they should be placed. I get it that most don't want multiple units of detectors in their house but if it's not going to be accurate because it's combined with something else that has a differing level of where it sits then it doesn't help. Where I live it became mandatory to have CO detectors in 2015 so where I worked the fire dept came out and trained us on things to be able to properly sell them and explain the dangers to our customers and what to do when they go off etc. I just wanted to point out the best way to have it for it actually working out of concern for them and other watching so I hope it comes across that way

    As always, your video brings joy to my evening 😊
    Just a couple of pointers:
    - you should really bake focaccia in a metal sheet to achieve the classic crisp bottom 😋
    - “ravioli” is already the plural form (raviolo is singular), so no raviolis 😅 same for “biscotti”, it’s already plural (biscotto is singular) 😊

    I don’t want to put any pressure on you to share the life of your baby once they arrive… but I did want to tell you that you have been so inspiring to me (I’m a mom of two and a full time homemaker) regarding house projects and cooking and gardening. I find myself thinking often when I watch your videos “man I wish I had all that kinda time to focus on those projects”. But I don’t in this season of life with two under 2. I’m looking forward to seeing how you balance being a mom with all the things you normally get up to in your videos. 1) I want to encourage you that it’s ok to not be able to keep up the same pace once the little one gets here. And in fact I’d encourage you to lean into the slowing down. I spent a lot of time anxious about how little I could get done with a newborn. Looking back I’m disappointed I had such crazy expectations of myself and I find it’s a very common thing with new moms, which can lead to doubt and ppd and trouble with breastfeeding and everything! I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. 2) I’m hoping that, when you find your new rhythm with the little one, that you can be transparent with your viewers about just how you’re juggling everything! You’ve always been wonderful at showing us messes and mistakes, and I hope you feel comfortable enough to include the things that happen because of being a mom. I’m hoping there will be more inspiration from “if she can do it, so can I!” When it comes to cooking and gardening even with a baby! 🥰

    Becky every time you use that cast iron pan,you have to clean it and oil it before putting it away.prior to cooking again,make sure to wipe the pan out,checking for rust, you don’t want to eat food cooked in a rusty pan, and you don’t want to poison yourself or your loved ones

    Here in New Mexico, there is a season where people go out and actually pick the pine nuts. Also very time consuming as they are picked off the ground. But getting them and roasting them inside the shells is a real treat. A friends daughter once said "it's like a mouthful of heaven"!

    If you're looking for something to do with your new card table over the holidays, my neighbor had a great idea. She bought a Christmas jigsaw puzzle and left it out for the length of the holiday. When people would stop in for a visit, they'd spend some time working the puzzle. By the end of the season, the puzzle was finished with everyone contributing. Your table looks lovely! As always, the food looks wonderful! Have a great time with your friends!

    Best tip I got for cooking pinenuts (I do it on my gasstove): When it really STARTS to brown turn off your stove. Stir it while your pan is still cooling off and you have perfect pinenuts!

    • @convivialgirl
      @convivialgirl ปีที่แล้ว

      So many people make this mistake because the propaganda keeps telling us that CO2 is dangerous and will end the world. That is not true yet we aren’t allowed to debate it. Carbon Monoxide however will kill you in large amounts. It’s good that she has a detector because if you have a propane leak in your stove, it could build up Carbon Monoxide and kill you. CO2 on the other hand is the air you breathe out which is plant food and why plants are healthier if you talk to them. I know you know this. Just clarifying for Becky and anyone else who has been misled by the global warming narrative!

    Your carbon monoxide detector should be mounted lower around 5 ft on the wall. Carbon monoxide is heavier than air so you don't want to put that all the way at the top like a smoke detector. If this is a combo unit I believe you should mount it Midway in the wall to cover both situations

    When you were setting the table I noticed you have a window seat - which iis great for seating!!!!!
    You could have a thick cushion made to fit it, or make one yourself to sit on and lots of back cushions in a variety of sizes and shapes, And you could change the covers over the years for seasonal accents, some solids and some patterns.
    I have collected pairs of really nice napkins and used them for the centers of pilliows all over my house, and change them out to keep from getting bored. all the best, fun being with you.

    Warning!!! Your cO2 detector really needs to be close to the floor and definitely have one in the basement. cO2 and radon are heavier than our "air" and sink to the lowest level. Plz let your viewers know. I live in Colorado and have learned this repeatedly due to several families passing from cO2 poisoning. Love love love you!
