It can be confusing because we humans love seeing things in black and white.. but at the same time it's intriguing because it's different from the stories we are used to seeing. In all honesty, Xtale is more realistic due to the fact that in real life, things really aren't just black and white.
Can we just talk about the Heart locket for a second? I didn't notice it before but in every timeline Chara or Frisk has given the locket to those they trusted or cared about. Ex: Asriel, Muffet, Mettaton, Papyrus, Undyne and I assume Cross later on. I don't recall Alphys ever receiving it which would honestly make sense
the reason why alphys never got one because a) she never had her own episode, each person got one during their episode, b) she was one of the only entities/creations of XGaster that had a saved memory and worked with XGaster directly c) she didn't interact well with frisk and chara, considering that they disliked her.

Gaster does not really expect any of his creations to have sentiment against him, as we learn with Mettaton and Undyne. When someone as passive as Papyrus begins to speak up, you can tell that he's surprised by it, even if it's barely noticeable. Frisk is devastated by what he's told Papyrus, even if he thought it was in both their best interests at the time. He's realized that he, Chara, and Gaster have even broken the ones with the most good in them and that they really have destroyed everything. He wants to make it right, and his determination to do so ultimately resets everything so that Papyrus can be happier. My heart. Curse you, Jakei.

The first time frisk cried, it was from only one eye and that was the purple eye, thus making it so gaster's purple eye had tears as well. Think of it as they are sharing eyes that do the same thing.
After this came out, I rewatched all the other XTale episodes to refresh. I paid close attention to each character's arcs and I am just so thrilled at how beautifully done they all are. On its own, XTale feels like a story dedicated to the writers of stories. Of course there are other morals and meanings throughout as well, but that one sticks out to me. I have come to love XGaster the most because I feel like I can relate to him a lot. I always fret about being unoriginal and shred up stories so I can make them better, but they always end up being torn and revised again in a never-ending cycle. Honestly I bet it is my perfectionism, which really sucks. I also depend heavily on if others accept my stories, like XGaster relying on Ink's judgement. XGaster seems pretty happy with this reset which makes me happy, and I hope that any other artists struggling to be content with their own work can find a way to be happy too.
The fact that Papyrus of all people asked them to chain away their free will by taking away their feelings the next time is just, so painful to watch. Him of all people shouldn't have been the one to say this, but considering he was looking after everyone's well-being, it suits him, enough for the line between black and white to become thin.
I like the idea of Gaster being a silent watcher of his creation, and that even in his world, he still chose to have the humans and monsters be hostile to each other. Still, begs the question of what Frisk and Chara did after Resetting... Also are we about to get XLittletale?
Well the comic X-Tale mentions that the events of the tenth timeline vaguely correlate with Undertale Cannon. Monsters are sealed underground, until the human (just Frisk, and none of the others, though) shows up. They grow up with the Royal Family and become friends with the Skelefamily (XGaster included). They eventually break the Barrier, presumably with Overwrite, and the monsters return to surface and bring about a rather peaceful society. At this point, XChara and XFrisk start shenanigans with Cross, and its his turn to change the X-tale timeline. Which leads to his backstory, then the Underverse series.

Which begs the question, is RESET more powerful than OVERWRITE? Then again, we see the SAVE button in Season 2 opening, so that might be important too.

the colours, the animation AAA ITS ALL SO PRETTY!!! and the way that emotion is shown so beautifully and clearly on these almost silent characters is just amazing!!

It's amazing that through season 1, you know that Chara is hurting in some way, but you feel like Cross hurts so much more than him. Through the XTale episodes, this shows how much pain and suffering XTale Frisk and Chara have been through.
I really like this version of pappy, even in a world of sorrow he still smiled and tried to help. Then when the truth of everything is shown, he doesn't attack gaster, but just wanted to know for sure it true.

I think XGaster is officially one my favorite characters of all time. I love how you've taken the difficulties of being a creator and bumped it up to make a conflicted person.
For some reason I started crying when Papyrus went to give back the heart locket This episode/chapter/timeline is just so sad... The music, the atmosphere, somehow it managed to get me in tears in moments that I wasn't supposed to cry Wow Jakei, you really hit me that time, like not on my heart, ON MY SOUL That's why it's so good, you know the thing is good when you feel what the characters are feeling, keep up the good work, you're awesome at what you do! (Dunno if my English is bad or not, I'm Brazilian, but love your series!)
I'm catching up on these animations and I'm just completely blown away by the quality and skill of them. I am so happy I got to sing Underverse's credits so I could be introduced to such a talented and amazing universe! Cannot wait to see what's in store this year! Papyrus has always been my favorite, and seeing how he manages to touch the hearts of both characters even when they are more or less 'strangers' is really emotional. Great work!

It's amazing that through season 1, you know that Chara is hurting in some way, but you feel like Cross hurts so much more than him. Through the XTale episodes, this shows how much pain and suffering XTale Frisk and Chara have been through.

@@maiki7045 no theres one more for cross. The only reason cross's page isnt there is because he's not under xgaster's influence/control/ didnt side with gaster. Its also why chara and frisk's pages arent there either in that scene. Nonetheless she still needs to animate something for cross because the original comic was left unfinished so that she could finish it here. Furthermore not everyone read the comic so she would still need to animate it. Either way shes going to do one for cross

I'm catching up on these animations and I'm just completely blown away by the quality and skill of them. I am so happy I got to sing Underverse's credits so I could be introduced to such a talented and amazing universe! Cannot wait to see what's in store this year! Papyrus has always been my favorite, and seeing how he manages to touch the hearts of both characters even when they are more or less 'strangers' is really emotional. Great work!
