The history of my life bro. Today, at my 25 years old, i have a lot of unfinished projects with cubase and fl studio (classical, metal, electronic, sci-fi, folk, etc).
don’t produce an 8/16/whatever bar loop to the max and then try to arrange it. sketch out your idea until it works, then start arranging right away. that way you won’t run into the problem of being stuck at some point in the arrangement as easily. this approach really changed a lot for me.
Thank you so much darling lady you have open my eyes to how I am able to use my NKS hardware. I pretty much didn’t have any idea and I knew it was capable of what you were showing us but I had very little intuition on what to do thank you so much I appreciate the video and your input incredibly kind regards Patrick
Just waiting for the s88 mk2 to arrive! For those who have things arriving, I suggest going into komplete kontrol plugin and managing your third party plug ins and presets, it helps with organization.
Best NI Tutorial of all! I wish much more NI Tutorials with Jane! Everything was explained very easily understandable. Unfortunately the exception. Its very difficult for beginners to get a overview about all Programs like the DAW (e.g. Ableton), Komplete, and the Hardware (Komplete Kontrol and Maschine...). Wished more tutorials for beginners in this way. And i miss everytime the link to the TH-cam Channels of the Musicians/Trainers from the NI Videos! Often i would wish to follow them but i can't simply find them.
Thats only relevant if you do mixing. If you only produce, nobody gives a shit where the speakers are or what the speakers are as long as you somewhat hear the sounds you produce. I love how people don't understand that.
I just cant use this features like arp or scale when i load komplete kontrol as plugin in ableton live 10 and my keyboard turns to completely midi mode and hence cant use this features..any help NI
How does she change tracks using the keyboard? Does this need extra setup on the DAW or can she do this simply because the has a KK instance on those tracks?
ever since NKS was installed, my 3rd party one shots and samples don't play all the way through in the maschine browser. It makes it almost impossible to find sounds when it only plays a split secoond. Hardly even plays a snare sound all the way through. I hope you guys can fix this in an update
Thanks for the feedback! We actually published a blog article a couple of days ago with tips and directions to start producing. Feel free to check it out here: bit.ly/3z01Fxi 📖
How does one learn to take this further? I am having a lot of trouble setting up splits with the colors on my KK S61 mk2 using Komplete Kontrol standalone. Any tutorials for folks have have learned as much in the video but really want to get to the next level?
Great video and very explicit and exploratory...Thanks Jane...Just got the 61 Keys Komplete Kontrol from NI. The dedicated keys and control options like Machine Studio, will surely make it easier than manually MIDI learning on my AXIOM. Day and night difference.
When I try to refresh and search for installed instruments it doesn't show up. For example I installed guitar rig 5 via native access and my komplete kontrol cant find it. Can someone please help me with this problem?

And not comfortoble work with 8 or 16 knobs! For normal work need 24 or 32 knobs! You have a great system, but 8 knobs ..... Please support my comment friends!
How do you automate 3rd party effects? I want to automate a Waves One knob plugin the same way I would automate the Cutoff of the TRK-01 but I can't seem to record that automation in the track. Is this something that is possible? I feel like it should be as easy at automating the instrument is.
Hello, i found à KK MKI, In good fonction and for a good price? Is it a good choice because i dont need thé twoo screens and i prefer to buy thé Ultimate collection for 999€...
When i load the libraries up through komplete kontrol none of the parameters are mapped? Any ideas anyone? Using mac and logic but even in stand alone KK is not using NKS
No, NKS is strictly about being able to browse and see what you're browsing. It is not available for MK1. This is evidenced by Native Brower Preview that becomes the available download once you purchase an NKS instrument: Maschine MK3 and KK S Series. And it will be available on the A series controllers.
It also means getting stuck into a single company-determined ecosystem. It's basically the same drug that companies like Apple and Pioneer push to make you become totally dependent on them. Stay critical!!
@@SsgtHolland You basically pointed out the issue yourself. You're stuck because it would mean losing functionality for you. From a consumer and producer perspective, this is in the end always bad as it limits your freedom of choice.
NO MENTION of fixed MIDI on the product page or specs page. Anyone that wants to map CC avoid this product. Only discovered after purchasing one. This detail is hidden in a help page. A one paragraph blurb. Failure.
Huh. I dig the main window layout in Logic X; didn't know you could do that. Easy on the eye, contrasting with the dark mode of my environment. Thanks for that, and for the workflow tips with the NI hardware! On it.
Personally I think this is just an expensive toy. I like the idea of using a sub-host so I can open my plugin presets in any DAW or OS, but the idea that using this thing is more efficient than the mouse and keyboard is a fallacy. If my keyboard is directly below my computer screen, and my hands are already on the keyboard and mouse, I don't see how fiddling around with knobs and looking into a minuscule LCD that's far from parallel to my face (unlike the computer screen) can be considered more efficient or ergonomic, not to mention the fact that the keyboard and mouse give you access to the entire feature set while the hardware controller only gives you a sub-set of the functions. I can see how this would be useful while playing a live set where you might want to tweak a few key parameters, but otherwise this is just gear porn with flashy LEDs to impress your friends when they visit your home studio. They keys are nice though and, as I said, the using a third-party host can be handy.
Perfectly agree, I have all this set up thinking it's so cool and then I just end up doing everything with my keyboard and mouse. I can change anything with the KBM easily and it's all there in front of me on the screen rather than having to spin various knobs to find this, that and whatever.
@@nickmeredith002 I think we all go through an initial "hoarding" stage where we get addicted to gear and buy a lot of stuff, and then we realise that too much gear is distracting us from the real goal which is to finish tracks. Then we go through a stage where we sell a lot of gear on eBay. Finally, a third stage ensues which is when we actually start making music. @@nickmeredith002 The other thing is that most NI products are designed to become obsolete after a couple of years to get customers to upgrade, and they often drop support for their products pretty soon e.g. Kore. Can you use KOMPLETE KONTROL(Soft) only with MASCHINE Mk 3? I want to browse with that.
