  • How to crochet a soap saver? In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a very simple soap saver that is ideal for crochet beginners. This cotton soap saver has a tail-free easy to pull cinch that doubles as a hanging loop for ease in the shower. This is a very quick crochet project that shouldn't take you longer than 15 minutes to complete. This project is ideal for campers, zero-wasters, or anyone who uses bar soap.

    How to Crochet a Simple Soap Saver Pattern:
    Yarn: 4 Cotton, Worsted Weight, Lily Sugar N’ Cream, Teal, need ~ 2 skeins
    Crochet Hook: F / 5 / 3.75MM
    Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
    Row 1: CH 11, turn.
    Row 2: Skip 1st CH, place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row. Turn slightly and place 1 SC in the FLO of each st in the row. SL st into the 1st SC st (20 total SC in the round).
    Row 3: CH 1, place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row - including the same st where you placed the SL st. SL st into the 1st SC st (20 total SC st).
    Row 4: CH 1, place 1 SC in each st in the row - including the same st where you placed the SL st. SL st into the 1st SC st (20 total SC st).
    Rows 5 - 19: Repeat Row 4.
    Row 20: CH 2, place 1 DC in each st in the row - including the same st where you placed the SL st. SL st into the 1st DC st (20 total DC st). CH 35 and pull crochet hook out of loop. Cut yarn, but don’t tie it off. Weave the chain between the DC st (~every 2 DC st) around your row. When you get back to your 1st weave, SL st into the top of the corresponding DC st. Tie off yarn and hide tails on the inside of the soap saver.
    Insert soap and pull on the cinch somewhere other than where the SL stitches are and hang the soap saver from the cinch.
