I have finished a few easy projects over the last few years, but haven't picked up a hook in 12 months or so. Your tutorial was very easy to follow with a clear view of the stitches and an easy pattern. Thank You! I'm confident I can make these with your help.
Thank you very much for sharing this pattern! Really easy to follow. I made a version where I did a couple double crochet and chain one rows in between instead of all dc’s so I can see the soap inside 😆 for my yarn choice it became a lot sudsier 💕
You’re so explanatory and detail oriented. I love it. You’re channel caught me eye cuz of crochet and my name is Amanda as well. lol. But I love that you explain what you’re doing to make it easier for beginners. ❤❤love!!!!!!
I absolutely loved this tutorial. A lot more simple compared to others that I've seen. Will be using this for an upcoming craft fair at my work. Gained a new subscriber and a fellow Amanda❤
Thank you for a lovely tutorial, I had to watch a few times to get it right but everything’s fallen in place and I’ve made two for my daughter using different sized hooks. Now to make some for my son. Quick and easy to make, definitely a favourite. Thanks again again x
Thank you so easy. I’m going to try & put in Irish spring soap & hang in garden to try & keep, deer out. Maybe try & figure out what to put in them for a squirrel repeller. I have plenty of dish cloth cotton to use up.
Oh my. I absolutely love this and I'm determined to get it right. As of right now, my one side looks botched. I'm new to crocheting and my ends are always messed up 😢
@@AmandaCrochets I'm definitely going to try using markers. I'm attending a crochet class today at my church. Hopefully the ladies can help me understand how to recognize my last stich. Thanks for the reply!
I made one of these to practice my age-old skills. I successfully completed it after watching your video several times.... it's very thorough, Thank You! When it was done, I put a bar of soap in it and washed my hands. I hung the bag (with the soap in it) on the faucet to dry but the 100% cotton yarn holds onto so much water that the soap just gets mushy. I think the soap will melt very quickly. I would like to give these as little gifts but seeing how mine looks hanging on the faucet (droopy and saggy and melty), I wouldn't. Would it be possible to make these out of some kind of twine? Maybe it would be more "airy" and dry better. Is it practical/possible to crochet with twine, or is there another "non-yarn" material that would allow the water to drain off the soap? e.g. natural jute, macrame cord, or cotton baker's twine?
Thank you! Cotton is super absorbent, so I would understand why it might take longer to dry. Maybe try wringing out the soap saver to help get rid of excess water? I don't know if another material would work, but you're more than welcome to try it out!
When you cinch the drawstring it just loosely closes. When you use the soap, it slides around and wants to jump out of the bag because the drawstring doesn't keep the bag closed tightly. I tied a knot in the drawstring but I would be interested to see how you would solve this problem.
As far as I know, you can either tie a knot or pull the drawstring closed. Maybe try weaving the drawstring in and out a little more, so there's more of a closure on top? Or I guess you could make the drawstring chain a little longer, so you can not only cinch it closed, but you can also tie a knot as well. Hope that helps!
Yay my first crochet project done. This tutorial was fantastic, thank you!
I'm so happy you enjoyed the tutorial!
This is a really nice pattern, easy to follow, and the soap saver makes such a nice gift with a lovely bar of soap. Thank you.
Glad you like it!
You are a fantastic presenter! Very thorough and good pace. I enjoy how you zoom in and give stitch count. Thank you.

I have tried a few things but this was the first project I completed and it actually looks good! Thank you for this tutorial!

I used a rainbow yarn I was gifted, and didn’t wash it before I popped the soap in😂😂 that’s a fun lesson for future projects

Keep trying! You can always use stitch markers to help mark where the first or last stitch needs to be.

I use mine just to store dry soap when traveling. Maybe if you used a different type of stich which resulted in bigger holes, it would dry quicker?

@@NasriaAliyar thank you!
@@NasriaAliyar someday I will. I’m very shy 🙈
Also do you do the 2 chains every time you get to the ends? I haven’t been I just kept the double crochet going all the way round
Yes, to start each round, you will make a chain 2.
Hi Amanda, love this! I noticed you don't mention weaving in the tail after slip stitching. Do you leave it the way it is?
I probably forgot to mention it lol. Yes you will weave in both tails before complete long your project.
Loved the video. Very helpfull! I was wondering how long it takes for 100% cotton to fade?
I’m happy to hear! As far as the color fading, I would assume after many, many washes, but I guess it depends on the saturation of each color.
So should I be using a 5.5 mm hook or a 5 mm hook?
I used a size H 5.0mm crochet hook for this pattern 😊
thank you, I can’t wait to make this!!

@@haleytyrrell9609 yes great ideas! Love it🥰🥰
Yes you can! Glad you enjoyed this tutorial!
How does yours finish like all the same level? Mine doesn’t get even for me to finish it, idk where I’m going wrong 🫣
It's possible that your tension is too tight in some spots and loose in others. You could also be skipping stitches. Keep trying! :)
