STAGE 2 POWER UPGRADES 🚗💨

- When people refer to upgrading their cars to Stage 1, Stage 2, etc, they are referring to installing bolt-on hardware upgrades on their vehicle, followed by a tune to get the most power out of those modifications. Typically, the higher the stage number, the more power you should expect to see.
In my previous video regarding the KTuner V2, you would have seen there are 2 different base maps that are included on the tuner, and depending on what hardware you have equipped, you can select and flash your ECU to Stage 1 or Stage 2. For my car, Stage 1 refers to the use of 91 octane fuel in addition to an aftermarket air intake. Stage 2 refers to the the use of 91 octane, an intake, along with a fuel aftermarket cat-back exhaust. Before today, I had the Stage 1 tune, but with the addition of the upgraded catback from Magnaflow, Stage 2 is now possible.
The stock exhaust system is meant to be fuel efficient and economical, coming in with an ID of 54mms. It does the trick and still to this day works, however when you rev the car out past 6000rpm, you can definitely feel it is restrictive. The upgraded stainless steel Magnaflow catback and the RV6 downpipe & test pipe have an ID of 60mm, that splits into dual 54mm pipes at the rear of the exhaust. Looking at piping size alone, this will allow 23% more air to flow through this pipe vs. the stock setup. The resonators on both the stock and aftermarket setup are the same straight-through design. The muffler on the stock setup is not a straight-through design, making it quiet, yet not efficient at flowing air. The Magnaflow’s dual mufflers are straight through, which means they aren’t going to be as quiet as stock, but they will for sure allow more air to pass through the inlet to the outlet. What does all of this mean..? MORE POWER!!!

@@5.3lchevysilverado80 intake, exhaust w/ cutouts, throttle controller, injector upgrade, throttle body spacer, ktuner flash, eco mode delete, truhart coilovers and full control arms, then just little things like wheels, stereo system, custom headlights, a-pillar gauges, strut brace. Dont really know what else to do tbh. Wish there was a larger aftermarket for accords. Especially the V6

Build the engine and boost it. That's the only way to go from here. I plan on doing all of this, plus a turbo one day... 300whp is the goal, while looking beautiful.
I love his solution. He had an exhaust that needed to be repaired, so he threw on aftermarket. That's the way I do things, too. Use the stock stuff. When things need replaced, that's the most financially sensible time to mod. Struts need replaced? Coil-over kit. Tires worn? Upgrade time. Hole in your exhaust? Magnaflow that thing. I find myself looking forward to maintenance this way, instead of dreading it. But start with the v6.
Facts AF. I had to replace clutch and flywheel for my 6-6 accord and I said fuck it and went with stage 1 clutch kit and light weight flywheel. Rated for just over 400tq most I'd hit with my car is probably 325 with nx tops

Good to see people modding Accords, I dont have it on TH-cam but I do have a 13 Accord V6 sedan with a few small mods, Injen Cold Air Intake, Borla Axleback, RV6 long tube J pipe, factory midpipe with Resonator delete, Acura RL 4 piston front brake caliper/Nissan 350z brembo rotor conversion, Tein Flex Z coilovers, pretty soon I’ll be getting RV6 PCDs, I have a 2015 Acura TLX intake manifold and throttle body to put in, a set of Ported intake runners and a ktuner V2 when I can afford it
Yep, downpipe and a tune will work wonders. Just went from stock to stage 2 on my GTI and its pretty fun.

Just got one of these today and it has this exhaust along with a kn air intake. Such a cool car and such a blast to drive. Just those two mods make the car fast as hell if you're good with pedal placement, I have a 13 Impala w/ 300hp at the crank and this thing takes off way quicker, it's a lighter car but still just goes to show how much these motors can really give with minor upgrades.

Hi Milan, I'm in my 70's and was always a car nut. It's great to see a young person getting their hands dirty and working on your car. this is great! I've got an 2009 Accord Coupe with about 65k miles. It's got the 2.4 Ivtec. I never could see the logic of a timing belt in a 6 cyl and a timing chain in a 4 cyl. When I bought my 09 in 09 I went with the 4 cyl. Since Honda discontinued the Coupe I've decided to keep this car and do some mods. I've been curious about doing a dual exhaust. Then along came your video. I'll have to look over my car and see if I have that cutout for the drivers side exhaust. Do you have any idea if the 2009 Honda had the brackets factory installed. My son in laws brother owns a shop and he'll be the one to help dad out with the install. I've also got a cold air intake by K&N which needs installation. Please remind me of the year and specs of your Accord. Thanks as I said I am greatly impressed with you and the work you do. When I was 17 I was rebuilding Chevrolet 327 & 409 engines. I still have all my tools, buy my age won't let me crawl under a car anymore LOL. Thanks P.S. according to the manufacturer this system cannot be used on a 4cyl. Now is that because the 4 cyl doesn't have the drivers side mounts, heat shield etc as you described and it will work on a 4cyl with the necessary add ons? One other question, I'm not sure the noise level is legal where I live. Is it possible to use regular stock mufflers? We will still have some increase in efficiency with dual pipes, yes no? Tom Heckhaus I would stay with a single exhaust on a 4 cylinder. I run a 3” single on a v6 accord and I’ve noticed better performance than on a duel exhaust . Dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder or even 6 cylinder is only for aesthetics. It looks nice but no real function. Just stay single exhaust . 2.5 “ from the cat back with upgraded muffler for better performance . Magnaflow makes really nice sounding mufflers for your car . Oh and as far as noise get an exhaust system with a resonator set up and you’ll be fine .
SOH on V6 makes less resistance on the DOH i4.

This car looks and sounds RICE as hell.
Sounds good, a lower deeper tone. Probably because the K24 isn't oversquare like say a K20 or B18. Sounds more like my Focus. Currently looking for a 2013-2017 Accord Coupe, with a V6 and manual. Hopefully I don't end up with the K24 and actually find what I want but wouldn't be the end of the world. A 280hp V6 would be a sweet starting point.

The main reason it doesn't sound like a "typical" Honda is because of the head end pre cat set up.

I’m currently building my accord sedan I can’t purchase that cat back system anymore do you know of another good one?? I have a down pipe currently but everything is stock all the way until an after market muffler
I think, that if accord id now a project car, it would get a lot of aftermarket parts, right? Also honda aftermarket is really huge and affordable. But why don't you try to port your head and intake, instead of buying it? Also google some of aftermarket dyno charts and compare, how your DIY mod would compare to aftermarket manifold. Also if you'd try dimple texture it would be killa'.

i’ve always loved the v6s but the 4cyl accord (imo) have always sounded better than your average, and sometimes even modified civics. If you want power out of the gate and don’t expect to do engine mods v6 v6 v6. But if you’re a tuner bro i4 all day

Harman Ubhi go to an exhaust shop Get 2.5” tubing buy a high flow magnaflow muffler and have the exhaust shop custom make you an exhaust . Unless you want stainless. Then get a greddy exhaust system . But expect to pay a pretty penny for it

Hey man I’ve got an 08 accord coupe with the 2.4l I’ve got an aftermarket intake on it already and I wanna play with the exhaust a little bit I wanna find a nice loud muffler but I don’t want a whole lot of rasp I would love your opinion on what to consider that won’t absolutely break the bank I just want something that compliments the intake and sounds mean

Honda typically restricts the exhaust system a good amount stock, so when you change that up, and pair it with an intake and tune, you will get a noticeable increase in power. Both your butt dyno, and actual dyno will be able to show that 👍

Hey Milan, when you get a chance I'd like a photo of the underside of the car showing how you routed the drivers side exhaust. I have a Gen 8 2009 Accord Coupe, the bumper cover does have the cutout as yours does but the drivers side has no room anywhere for the exhaust pipe from the engine back. the passenger side has practically a tunnel for the pipes, cat, muffler etc. The drivers side is solid and has all the brake lines fuel lines etc running along the bottom. So if you get a chance let me see the underside and how you routed those pipes. Thanks

Check out my raspy exhaust. I'm also on ktuner. Still need to get a proper dyno. Mine sounds like a rice rocket but I dont have a resonator.

There aren’t any turbo kits for the 8th gen accord :( not only are the headers already built into the engine, but the ECU hasn’t been cracked in order to tune it for a turbo anyways you would need a engine swap and a ECU swap and even after that it still would t be faster than the v6
