- It's my second Birmingham Pen Company ink haul, and I have eight new fountain pen ink swatches to share with you. I've said this many times, but I really do love the colors BPC develops, and the formulas are so wonderful and wet.
Quick note: there was a weird glitch when I got to Horseradish Mustard. The swatch is fine, so you absolutely get to see that (which is the most important thing), but my commentary about it ended up recording oddly, so I had to cut it out. Devastating, I know. *sarcasm* :)

I am loving the colors you chose. I had pitted nickel inked up last month and loved it. I have Milkweed, stormwater runoff, mudpuddle and basil pesto on my wish list. I think the weathered brick is a stunning red. Mud puddle sorta reminds me of Robert Oster Choc pudding. I am absolutely addicted to BPC inks. I have several bottles (and some samples from friends) and clearly want them all. Thank you for sharing these.
I am really, loving the Basil Pesto (I did ink up a pen with it right away), so I definitely recommend that one, but they're all really beautiful shades. Thanks for watching!! 😍

@@snarkywordsworth I got SO MANY. Whoops! Maybe we should trade samples! I got ambered Adobe, Bordeaux, boiler steam, waterfront dusk, magnolia mirage, burlywood, sterling silver, butcher's broom, rotted cork, kenai fjords, Robin's egg, molten magma, Canterbury raisin, Scuttlebutt. SO MANY!!

So relevant! I just ordered 3 bottles of BPC inks. I'm about to order 2 more that went on sale, too. They have such amazing colors. I love all of these.

I love them all and your nail polish is pretty too ;) What color is your polish? Horseradish reminds me of Platinum Classic Citrus Black. Basil Pesto is my favorite, love the light green pale color is shows. The Stormwater Runoff is very pretty. Those browns are beautiful, Mud Puddle and Hemlock cone are some of my favorites too. I just love BPC inks. Thanks for swatching new colors. Great video as always! I can’t wait to see a video of the pens you choose for these inks.

Big fan of Birmingham Pen inks; their Stormwater Runoff a quirky name, but wonderful shade. In fact, the quirkier the name, the more I like a BP ink. 😆. They make you wait two weeks for order fulfillment, but satisfy anticipation.
I've found I end up with a two week handling wait, too (though the site does say it'll be up to that long, so I don't really have an issue with it), but a couple pen friends of mine were saying their orders shipped out almost immediately, so maybe we've just had bad luck. 🤷♀️
@@snarkywordsworth …nah, no bad luck, I’ve been buying from BP for a few years, and two week wait is normal. I get the impression shelf inventory is minimal, but I have no issue waiting. Unfortunately, Amazon Prime mentality is pandemic….🙄

I wish BPC sold samples. I would love to try weathered brick, stormwater, and basil pesto without having to buy full bottles.
Agreed. It's definitely a little bit of a gamble, but I haven't gotten anything I've truly hated so far. I think my least favorite has been Sugar Kelp, but it's actually grown on my quite a lot, plus when I've mixed it with a few of my other BPC inks, I've gotten some wicked nice results.

Love Birmingham Pen and am awaiting my third order. I had an ink catastrophe and ended up with a cracked cap on one of my bottles and inquired as to whether I could purchase a new cap, and they send out a fresh cap in a care package complete with the postcard, nib paper clip, everything, and quickly, too without charge.
It's really nice to know that as a small company, they do care to make sure their customers have a good experience with them. Can I ask what ink you picked up? Did you like it?
@@snarkywordsworth In the current order, I'm waiting on Voltaic Arc, Tesla Coil, Hydrangea, Ladybug, Butcher's Broom, Emerald Fusion, Carnation, and Sugar Kelp. Sugar Kelp is a replacement for the full bottle I dropped on a cement floor in a moment that lasted forever and will be memorialized eternally by the colorful floor stain. It's a beautiful ink.
Of the inks I currently have on hand, Ohio River, Magnolia Mirage, Snapdragon, and Bougainvillea are my favorites, with Ohio River being the best behaved/most serviceable.

And the best part is they all feel really good to write with, too. I haven't really had any issues with them being dry or "sticky" like some inks. The worst thing I've come across is maybe one will be too wet for a very wet writing nib, but that's about it. Just great formulas overall. Thank you for watching!
I recently had a very bad experience with buying a whole bottle of ink from a swatch that I saw online. Luckily the company took the ink back because it was not at all what it was described as. Learned my lesson. I would have kept the ink, but it was completely illegible. I think if you do art with your inks, I would have kept it also. But I don’t so writing with it was out of the question. Have you ever had an ink that you could not read? I Enjoy your videos a lot thank you. I think the horseradish mustard and the basil pesto are going to be too light for me to read in my fine nib. But that’s just me. They are all beautiful.
A few color I've tried that were beautiful on swatches but I just couldn't read in my fine or extra fine nibs were Dominant Industry winter pine, Wearingeul Vayu and Dominant Industry November leaves. I was sad and will try them in a broader nib one day. Thank goodness they were only samples.
I've not had any illegible inks from BPC so far, but I have picked up inks from other companies that ended up being too light for me. I'll usually just send samples to pen friends who I know prefer really light shades, and then I at least know someone will appreciate them. Thank you so much for the kind comments and for watching!!
To me horseradish mustard look ver much Ina ho like. Pitted Nickel is not what I would think of for either word. I like the first 3 personally. Enjoy!
