    "What is better? To be born good or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" This quote by Paarthurnax from Skyrim best exemplifies Bao-Dur during his story. Rage and anger became his nature thanks to the Mandolorian Wars, but thanks to Meetra Surik, he could finally overcome that which haunted him and held him back for over a decade. His life with the exile, and his subsequent death, were beautiful pieces of story telling where we see one man struggling with the sins of the past and before finally overcoming them and dying content in the knowledge that he is not evil, but good. One who helps, rather than destroys. A true hero, a true Jedi.

    Damn good redemption story. Not sure of his characterization. While the weapon he created did kill millions, and he made it with hatred intent, but the weapon was used in a battle, on orders of a legal commander, it sounds as if no civilians were killed, and the weapon was simply more powerful than expected. Bao Dur, I'm sure, would accuse himself as being a genocidal murderer but I don't think he fits that definition. I do love his regret of what happened, and think it shows what kind of Jedi, and man, he was. Another great story that fans would love and so the Rat won't ever attempt to bring to the big or small screens.

    Can you do a video commenting on how Dave Filoni developed the Jedi in clone wars as an institution that made big mistakes and if that deviated from what George Lucas developed the jedi to symbolically represent in history? Do you think this "subversion" ended up working and giving the story the depth it needed? Do you think that George Lucas already raised this question, but didn't develop it in the story of the Prequels because that wasn't the focus of the plot?

    • @gabethebabe3337
      @gabethebabe3337 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole plot of prequels is that the Jedi failed themselves by not listening to Qui-Gon on both the return of the Sith AND training Anakin as a Jedi. Had they listened Qui-Gon would have gotten the aid he needed on Naboo, and Anakin would have had a Jedi Master who actually understood how to deal with his unique circumstances as a Jedi.
      It's not that it's under developed, it's all there in the Duel of the Fates, it's that people tended to disregard Qui-Gon as a character because they hated the fact that Yoda wasn't Obi-Wan's direct teacher. Obi-Wan only said he was instructed by Yoda, not that he was his formal Jedi Master. Yoda taught younglings and guided Obi-Wan on his path to Knighthood.
      The Council simply did not support or trust Anakin, and because they never did he simply never belonged, even when given a seat on it. They had the messiah of the Jedi and they handed him over to the devil through negligence and arrogance. It's all there in the prequels based on their actions and how they visibly treat Anakin.

      Both amplified each other: The dark side nexus which already existed before on one hand and the taint of what happened at the Trayus academy on the other hand. It had been a cursed world even the Mandolorians considered it taboo.
      Revan didn't choose it by accident for the final battle of the Mandalorian wars. He used it to get rid of the Mandos and eventual opposition in his own ranks.

    Wonderful video, but the title feels a bit misleading compared to the contents. Also, I don't know if this is within your control, but in the course of watching this fifteen-minute video, I had to break for ads five times. I don't get it.

    it would've been better if this was made into a movie instead of what Disney made

    • @hackman669
      @hackman669 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disney just needs to revive Luke and bring Jedi back. Heck Rey could reinstate Jedi Order with Luke's ghost. We need New Republic, Rogue Force, and Luke's Jedi like in Legends.

    Could you talk about midichlorians I've seen nobody talk about them really at all is their no history. It just seem like they be far more important then well everything sense they let the sith and jedi use the force are they evil or neutral or nothing.
