Thank you! You are the only one who's solved my problem(Jacking the car up using the vehicle jackpoints and placing jackstands)I now know i can use the front/rear vehicle jackpoints and place jackstands on the side i need to work on.🙏
How about driving the front onto ramps, then jacking the back up in the middle and placing a stand on each rear? Wouldn’t this work to get all 4 elevated and access to the rear?
One observation: always undo the locking nut first and do it up last. It's the weakest one so if you undo it last, it's taking all the compressed weight of the wheel (hence 'it's always the last one that won't undo' you hear people say). Equally, I always do the locker up last as it's not then heaving the wheel upto the hub. Great video!
Did your Porsche handbook tell you the jacking points front and rear? My Ford Galaxy MK4 only has jacking point on the sides of the car by both tires according to the manual.
instead of buying 2 car jacks, one low profile and one normal, can I just get only the low profile and use 2x4 wood when I want to work on normal height cars, is this commonly practiced or it's not safe.
I have a accord 94 same position to your car where the jack stand holds. Is ist safe to have a jack stand over a year? Hoping for your response thanks.
I've just bought the same stands and there're several things mentioned in the manual like: - DO NOT use four axle stands on one vehicle - DO NOT lift one end of a vehicle if the other end already rests on an axle stand - DO NOT work under lifted vehicles - etc... Is that just some kind of legal BS?..
I personally don't trust axle stands so I use a ramp when I need to under the car. For the times I need the wheels off then I use axle stands but don't go under the car.
It is just legal BS, but you should always use a back-up, even if it's just putting a cinder block or tire/wheel under the lowest part. This way if it does fall off, it won't kill you, even if you're pinned.
not clear! need to show broader perspective then show the detail. If I walked you into a jungle and show you a tree, it would be hard for you to understand where that tree fits in that jungle. Reinforced front part of the chassis? where is that in relation to the jack point?
As Neil clearly indicated, go to your factory manual and look up the areas that are appropriate to your vehicle to lift the vehicle and place the stands. Your ineptitude is not license to be obnoxious especially to a guy that has, in my opinion, the best videos of this sort on TH-cam.
thats an ignorant approach to jacking up just the front end. instead of raising each side independently, lift the front of the vehicle and place both jack stands on each side
You seem to be the only person on youTube who has actually solved how to get a Boxter on to stands using a normal jack - thank you

Thanks. Starting work on my Clio tomorrow and didn't fancy being crushed.

I'm not an expert but I only have a low profile jack and it's been fine on a number of different cars for me.
Did you have to use 2x4 or no need at all? got a focus st wonder if low profile will work on that. thanks
well done, as are all of your videos. Thank you.
hello i like the iphone mod you did on your nissan 350z. i was wondering if you could fit a mini ipad insted? john
Hi John. I think a min iPod will fit. The process would be the same apart from needing a different mount.
Incredibly informative, thanks a lot!
Do they sink into your drive?

Hard to say without inspecting the stand. I'd advise not getting under the car on stands though.

When you do an oil change with the car on ramps does some oil get left in the pan or is it not an issue do you think? Btw are you in the PCGB?
+BraddersCat7 It's better to have your car level but I don't think it's a big issue. The amount of oil left will be small.
Nice and informative. Thanks
Thanks Jae.
These are good . Thanks

Damn you tightened that jack like you’ve done that before lol
LOL
Thanks for sharing.
Can you get the wheel nuts off without cracking them :(
Yes with an impact wrench
Perfect video, thanks.
Thanks! Glad you liked it.
How the hell I will start lifting from the rear? should be at front first.
Unless you have a low profile jack, the rear is the way to go
Helpfull !
Good idea on race ramps. Jack stands can be scary. Heidi
stubbk3 you can make your own with wood my friend for 15 quid max :)
I use 4 body jacks and on hydraulic Jacks accompanied with Wood wheel chocks. I dont trust any of it.
Exellent😊
Always wear suitable foot ware kids, I dropped a jack on my foot like a twat once and fooking hurts😂😂😂
+Duck Hunter that is a top tip!
My other car is a Bentley....that's what my bumper sticker says anyway
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Porsche is pronounced 'porSHa' never 'Porsh' 👌

Kodar isn't that what he showed later in the video?
