  • Taking a CoQ10 supplement can have serious benefits for your health. It has potent antioxidant properties to help support cell function, healthy blood pressure, energy production, and overall cardiovascular health. It’s been found to be neuroprotective and can help those who suffer from migraines, and can stave off Alzheimer’s. You can find the full episode on The Doctor’s Farmacy.

Well, everyone needs something, why not invest in what you value the most, especially if it's health? If it's not supplements, a person is usually buying something that is not even helping them in the long run.
People ALWAYS complain about buying things that might truly help their health or whine about investing the time to turn around their health. But people are more than glad to waste money and mess up their health by jacking up their blood sugar levels on their daily Starbucks order, for example.
If a person saved a few days to a week's worth of Starbucks money to buy a high quality supplement and committed to it, they'd start to see positive change. Then they can build on it and invest time and money into seeing a nutritionist and fitness trainer AND COMMIT to it, they see a difference over time.
I'm not rich, just smart. I see the worthy investment to my health as an asset that keeps building. I only buy the necessary supplements like vitamin D3 and iron. And I need to get a few more key nutrients in supplement form and I'm invested in fitness training and a nutritionist.
I'm saying all this to say, a lousy supplement isn't going to fix a person's health, it's their TOTAL mindset, attitude and commitment to improving their over all health that matters! Use the supplements to correct actually deficiencies testing by your doctor and probably add things like COQ10 when you can.

🌷Yes, thank you Dr. Hyman. My mother and I took it …. I noticed an improvement in her energy level and her memory. Also, the redness in her eyes and her eyelids nearly went away; her eyes were brighter. We got a good quality CoQ10 from Life Extention Foundation. Mom passed away 2013 … Alzheimers truly is the longest most difficult goodbye.
We also took R-Lipoic Acid & Acetyl L Carnitine (first thing in the morning on an empty stomach) The CoQ10 we took with fatty foods (butter, mayo etc). My best to all :-)

The problem here is all these doctors or health experts always talk about high quality vitamins and supplements along with ingredients that you should avoid but they never recommend vetted brands that they take or would take personally. This makes it hard to determine whether or not your buying something that would be helpful or cause other problems down the road.

If you use CoQ10 for an antioxidant, then use ubiquinol, the reduced form. If you're using CoQ10 to make the electron transport chain in the mitochondria more efficient, then use ubiquinone, the oxidized form. The Redox process in the electron transport chain requires that you start off with the oxidized form, which is then reduced in the third enzyme complex.

    • @drsharukh1098

@@drsharukh1098 I've had good experiences with both. Perhaps the most salient experience was with my father who was given approximately 3 days to live due to progressed cardiomyopathy. I used ubiquinone plus acetyl L-Carnitine. Instead of dying, he was back home in 3 days.
I know you know this... CoQ10 is best absorbed with a fatty meal or with a fish oil supplement. MCTs are not carriers of fat soluble nutrients including the delicate array of phospholipids.

The oxidized form is for someone who drinks a lot of antioxidants. My vitamins are mainly hormonal related, but now, I added more antioxidants like Glutathione (I have really low levels of this), Vit C and Vit E, COQ10 makes it worth it.

I used to get debilitating migraines. Sometimes they would last for months, not days. No medicine would help. It was magnesium that helped me. I take 300mg EVERY night before bed. If I forget I get a migraine 3 days later.

I've been taking statins for years but still had a heart attack then a stroke. Suffered all the side effects and now have heart failure. Statins cause a shortage of CoQ10 which will cause heart failure. People who live into old age usually have high cholesterol.
      Statins are a con.

We don't know longterm effects in pregnant women, so you should stop as soon as you know you're pregnant. CQ10 helps improve egg quality though.

Correct. I've been keto carnivore w/ Intermittent Fasting for almost 2 years now. I'm off all medications and down 60+ lbs. CoQ10 supplements really aren't needed for healthy individuals unless they're on a statin. Statins are awful and don't really do much to begin with.
