What bothers me about these plans that show windows upstairs on the outside of the house is that there isn't an upstairs. Why make it look like that on the outside???
Maybe it increases the value if they go by appearance? I have no clue. Just throwing that out there. Lol
They most probably let in more light but then you would have to pay extra to have them cleaned.
So far not seen any windows up high in the house. Could be an attic with the windows but should show it. What a waste having the windows

There's some features I really like, especially the powder room off the entrance to keep guests out of the bedroom area. I'm no expert here, so probably take it with a grain as a personal viewpoint here: I'd be inclined to look at the utility room plopped between the entrance and the powder room, bringing the front straight all the way across in front of the bedroom. Then there'd be room on the side where the utility room is now for an office & studio, coming out further than the rest of the front (I'm a scientist and artist so going towards retirement such a room accessible from the entrance is very attractive). This would make the front very much in line for what is traditionally South Australian architectural style, with a beautiful bullnose verandah across the front to what would be the front of the office/studio. Just thought I'd offer this observation in case it's useful to you.
Not bad. There are things that I really like about this one.
I like that you have a mud room/1/2 bath to your left as come into the house, in case you have been working outside and need to use the bathroom or to clean up some before coming into the main part of the house, if you got dirty.
I like that you have a bench to sit down on to put on/take off shoes/boots right in the same area of the mud room and coat closet. I like the laundry room being on the opposite side. That way if you do have dirty clothes, they can be put in there right away instead of possibly tracking dirt throughout the house. Although you didn’t show a washer/dryer, so they or a combo of the two, must be hiding behind one of the doors in there.
I love the archways between the different sections of the house.
Living room is about the right size, for a small home. I would remove the “fireplace” though and put in an efficient wood stove, using the space to the right of it for an enclosed cabinet, designed to hold firewood. I don’t watch tv, so no need for a place for that.
One thing of concern to me in the kitchen is having the stove(s) and refrigerator literally right next to each other. It’s not a good idea having them literally next to each other like that, there needs to be some sort of space. So what I would do is, put what looks like a pantry and put that in between them. I, personally, don’t see the need for two stoves, so would remove one of them and gain a little more storage space, if I were to have a regular stove. In fact though, for myself, I would probably put a smaller convection oven (love the one I have) on the counter, as that works for what I need and turn that whole space where the stoves are located into a bigger pantry.
The one thing I don’t understand with most of these designers that I have been watching, is that they don’t seem to believe in having something in the bathroom, like cabinets for holding your bath towels and other bathroom necessities. Who wants to go to the laundry room room to get towels and tissue when you need it? I know I don’t. So add in a couple of cabinets in the bathroom. There is space above the toilet for a smaller one or better yet, put a full length one on the opposite wall and move the hooks for bathrobes over or put them on the door.
I would probably put in a sofa in the second bedroom, that turns into a bed, for when guests come, but use that room more as a study/library/office space or at least have it set up for a computer and printer.
Over all though, I like the layout!

A beautiful house, Jasper. The entrance foyer is lovely and having both laundry and powder room off it is great. I would add an interior door to the foyer to separate it from the living room, but that is because of the climate here. The kitchen is very functional, being well planned and laid out. The footprint is a good size, as is that of the dining area. My personal preference would be to separate the kitchen from the rest of the space, and there is plenty of room to do so easily without it feeling cramped. Both bedrooms are a good size, which is nice to see. With the powder room at the front door, I would think of making the bath inio a jack and jill en suite, eliminating the door into the corridor. It is not so nice to see right into the bathroom from the living area. Other than those two small changes, this is an ideal home indeed. Well done!
I love the entrance, to the left, half bathroom, the window seat, to the right, laundry room, beautiful living room, beautiful kitchen, instead of black N' white tiles, you could go with a pale color that would come close to color that is there, love the bathroom, the 2 bedrooms are awesome, probably a pale blue or grey for the floor

Nice house. Fridge not beside oven
This home was made for entertaining! Love the open concept but I would lay that kitchen out differently. Storage space is at a minimum though and I would want a washer and dryer, stackable is fine. Maybe some shelving would accommodate the holiday decorations. Not sure where the deep freeze would go either. It’s a medium cheat freezer. When you live remote and it’s winter 5 months out of the year, you’ll always have weeks of being snowed in. Hence the need for storage.

Windows upstairs are dormers for looks. If you don’t like tv over fire there are two available walls. I like this plan. Has everything!

This is a good plan, and it manages to include an entry with a bench, a powder room and a laundry room. Although there's no pantry, there's space near the back door for a pantry cabinet. I'm not keen on having the TV over the fireplace, but that's a detail that could be changed.
Beautiful home! I want to say that I do not care for the black and white floor tiles. I'd like to see something a little more organic with softer colors. Great layout.
I really like this house. The only thing I might change would be taking in the space behind the toilet and sink in the full bath to make a place to put the toilet behind a wall. There is still space for a dresser in the front bedroom and the only full bath would have just a bit more privacy. Then swap the sink to the other side. I love having the laundry room up front because it provides so much extra storage.

Nice layout except for the kitchen. Instead of the oven next to the fridge (which forces the fridge to work harder when the oven is on) replace the oven and cooktop with a range instead, moving the microwave above the range and vented via the hood. This in turn would allow for another pantry/cabinet/counter area next to the fridge. Minor quibble: the refrigerator doors need to swing the other way, into the kitchen. Am assuming this house has an attic (due to the windows)? If so, how is it accessed? Also noticed that since there are several steps to the ground floor of the house, there may be an allotment for a basement, again how would it be accessed? Love the mermaid scale tile in the bathroom! Overall nice layout!!
