I’ll never forget how a year ago I watched a video of a guy doing the fan made voiceover for this scene and he used Light and Shadow. It was so well done that it became my expectation for the anime, when the anime shined by itself. Seeing this song used for the anime version puts a smile on my face still, brings big nostalgia back :D
As good of a character as Eren is, I think this will always be my personal favourite moment of his, just because I love Ymir (she might actually be my favourite character) and seeing her finally, finally, finally find the one person that could understand her and allow her to make her own choices is one of the most relieving moments I’ve seen in any story ever.
What I love about this scene is that we really see how Eren feel for Ymir. Although we know that most of what he did in season 4 was pretending to be THAT guy, he really just seemed mad cold and seeing him feel compassionate, emapthetic and sad for Ymir warms my heart
This song bringing a heroic vibe is kinda how Ymir felt in this scene. After so long of being the victim, there is finally someone there for her. Freeing her from the torment that she've endured. Eren was the hero in her eyes
Erens goal isnt to destroy the world, its more likley he wants paradis to save the world from him, making them seen as heros instead of monsters. He purposefully made his friends hate him by lying about disliking them. Hes trying to be hated on purpose.
@@meurum2561 I don't think you get my point, this scene is supposed to be horrific because of what's about to happen (literal genocide of the life beyond the walls btw), not a heroic action at all, I'm not saying aot is a horror anime
@@user-qx1id1dt8x I’d say it’s a heroic action depending on the pov. Eren knows to achieve true freedom for him and his loved ones, he has to kill literally everyone outside of the island. But if no one is alive then the issues will never come.
Just some warnings, since a lot of people doesn't seem to read the description neither the video title: 1 - The song name is Light & Shadow, it's composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (The same composer of Shingeki's past seasons). Yes, it was made for League of Legends, for the Star Guardians video. You can find the song just by searching "Light & Shadow" or "League of Legends Light & Shadow". 2 - This is an animated version of J05H manga motion video, where he used the same song to the same scene, but with the manga. I just wanted to see how it would look like in the anime version. At that time, the anime wasn't out yet, so we didn't know which song would fit the scene. 3 - Making the scene "heroic" or "epic" wasn't my intention, I just wanted to put Hiroyuki Sawano song because I like Hiroyuki Sawano and it fits Shingeki, that's it. I don't care what you think about the Rumbling, I know is not a good thing and it wasn't my intention to make it look like a good thing. I literally just like the song, that's it. 4 - What this video is about is literally in the title. If you prefer the original song, good. There's no problem in that, but I don't know what you were expecting when you clicked on this video after reading the title. 5 - I'm not very good at editing stuff, so some parts are indeed not synchronized. I apologize for that. This was not a serious video, I just wanted to see what would the scene look like with this song. Anyways, that's it. c:
It's cool to see an animated version of that one trending video that used this combination, but honestly, the official version we got is supreme in every way and incredibly dark and chilling.
Yo this was on point! The moments hit with the music just right!! It matched a perspective I learned after realizing the first episode was titled To You, in 2000 Years
If you think about it, it is really sad how it took Ymir 2000 years to be finally free. She was a slave to the Royal Blood descendants all this time. Eren set her free.
Honestly, the hero we thought Eren was died at the end of season 3. The moment he kissed Historia's hand, everything came full circle and fate took over.
I lowkey wanna see the rumbling played in a heroic theme while they show the brutality of the casualties. To portray that the universe of AOT is never just black and white.
Mate, let me tell you something... This is one of the best scenes of the anime, seeing Ymir crying gave me goosebumps like few scenes do. She really was waiting for Eren.
The eren zeke and ymir moment in the paths is definitely better with light and shadow but the part where the walls fell down and the colossal titans started to emerge is way better with the footsteps of doom.
This looks good as a single scene, but what Mappa is doing awesomely is making a whole episode, they have to make sure everything flows smoothly. And also dont forget that we r now in war era, not some inspiring shits of previous seasons anymore.
The speech of Eren with this OST is incredibly best of just silence of the official one I found, because it amplify the power of this scene, and all emotions So perfect 👌
Ymir be like: "Alright, fine. You want this Titan fiasco to end? Be my guest. But if you're asking ME how I want it to end, then I'm going to take a big fat shit on this entire world on my way out."
It’s actually sad. Eren does it all out of genunine kindness He truly wants to protect his home and family And even as he wanted to use Ymir, he also wanted to set her free of her suffering and let her choose for herself It’s the biggest twist of all time, how the protagonist does all this suffering and doesn’t really change and still wants to help those that matter to him
He does it out of selfishness to see a flat world. Doing it for his friends and Paradis was just him trying to rationalize his inevitable actions that he saw.
OH GOD! You nailed the match between the music and the scenes! I love this video 👍 This music replaced the 'Armageddon' feeling from music before with 'Hope' nuance 😁.
This really fits imo, Ymir was outright treated like a pig and she was so deprived of her humanity that she was desperate to please literally any person, you would think that her kind meek demeanour would get her some attention or approval but no, she was the the one living amongst pigs, all she got was a betrayal by EVERYONE she knew with false accusation, an arrow and cruel sentence. Then she fell into the "Tree of Life" and lucky her, obtained Godly Power- so maybe this time she will get approval or even find love, but no once again she is meerly and arrogantly called worthy to bare the children of his, by the King and how grateful she must be for this honour, she was so deprived of her humanity, her self, that she accepts even with overwhelming power, still hoping in being a part of her fellow humans, part of atleast 1 "circle" or family. Then only sacrifice her life to save the Vile Creature they call "King", To have him disgrace her death by calling her weak to die from an arrow and thereby decided by the filthy f*ck that their own children to eat there mother (alive) to preserve her power for his use. I know it's an anime but damn that ticks me the wrong way. The soundtrack is amazing with this scene for the fact that after all of that she still has love, hope and wishes for someone in this humanity to free her, waiting 2000 years just for that someone to give her the mere words of acknowledgement and affirmation of her humanity, of her own free will, so she may finally, Be free from her own compulsive restraints not knowing how to do anything for herself and Eren does just that while Zeke tries to assert his bloodline of "royalty" and false control over her freedom and choices just like the King.
i did the same edit on my yt channel but the only different is that i synced every single scene with the beat even the end of it using the useebiggirl ost
The original music doesnt need to be emotional with this scene because is not about the most emotional thing ever, is about a person to end a lot of lives, and a lot of people trying their best to stay alive or fight it. Thats why the original still fits even if this one would fit for ymir suffering.
as person above me said! this scene is not supposed to heroic or epic, it is emotional to an extent, but in this scene, ymir literally comes to term with her hatred for the world and decides to give eren the power to flatten it and kill everyone, the music may fit without context but to me it just seems tone deaf to the meaning of what's actually going on! in the episode the silence with zeke shouting in the back, slowly leads up to dark music as they show ymir's face, revealing that we're about to see the rumbling happen, it's perfect that way, atleast imo

@@EnclosedPoolArea if she didn't want to help Eren you think she would? It's not because you are helping someone do their bidding that you are some mindless slave. And if anything, the way this scene is made, I would say the actual master there is Ymir, not Eren.
Nah that silence and cut to Ymir crying after the last drum is unbeatable.. this is cool too
01:00 very emotional and fits for that, really awesome.
yeah
I’ll never forget how a year ago I watched a video of a guy doing the fan made voiceover for this scene and he used Light and Shadow. It was so well done that it became my expectation for the anime, when the anime shined by itself. Seeing this song used for the anime version puts a smile on my face still, brings big nostalgia back :D
Got the source of the fandub?
This song wasn't used for the anime version?
As good of a character as Eren is, I think this will always be my personal favourite moment of his, just because I love Ymir (she might actually be my favourite character) and seeing her finally, finally, finally find the one person that could understand her and allow her to make her own choices is one of the most relieving moments I’ve seen in any story ever.
Ymir is also one of my favorites and this scene is definitely my favorite
What I love about this scene is that we really see how Eren feel for Ymir. Although we know that most of what he did in season 4 was pretending to be THAT guy, he really just seemed mad cold and seeing him feel compassionate, emapthetic and sad for Ymir warms my heart
This song bringing a heroic vibe is kinda how Ymir felt in this scene. After so long of being the victim, there is finally someone there for her. Freeing her from the torment that she've endured. Eren was the hero in her eyes
The fact that Eren did that obviously to achieve his goal, buyt also because he understood that she should also have freedom after all those years
Don't care what people think, i support eren and his decision.
hope this will change ur mind th-cam.com/video/iX9vp5zhMHI/w-d-xo.html
@@newt2120 WOOOOO WORLD GENOCIDE!!
Erens goal isnt to destroy the world, its more likley he wants paradis to save the world from him, making them seen as heros instead of monsters. He purposefully made his friends hate him by lying about disliking them. Hes trying to be hated on purpose.
@@jeo228 true i thought it was obvious, considering what made eren change his entire personality into a genocidal person
@@jeo228 I think Erin knew his friends would kill him, but was so broken by this point he didn't care if they did or not.
I still think of this edit. It's incredible, thank you for this.
This music actually makes this scene more epic in my eyes.
Edit: I feel after the part she gives Eren the power it didn’t fit.
It fits the horror, this is too heroic for the literal apocalypse
@@user-qx1id1dt8x I don’t consider AOT a horror anime
@@meurum2561 I don't think you get my point, this scene is supposed to be horrific because of what's about to happen (literal genocide of the life beyond the walls btw), not a heroic action at all, I'm not saying aot is a horror anime
@@user-qx1id1dt8x I’d say it’s a heroic action depending on the pov. Eren knows to achieve true freedom for him and his loved ones, he has to kill literally everyone outside of the island. Sometimes threatening people with absolute destruction isn’t enough. They won’t accept that, they’ll eventually try to counter you, then the cycle will repeat. But if no one is alive then the issues will never come.
@@meurum2561 It may be but he still intends to genocide the entire world. The deed itself is not heroic and it shouldn't be viewed as one.
FINALLY WITH LIGHT AND SHADOW THEME
Just some warnings, since a lot of people doesn't seem to read the description neither the video title:
1 - The song name is Light & Shadow, it's composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (The same composer of Shingeki's past seasons).
Anyways, that's it. c:
The lesson I've learned:
Don't let yourself be a slave, but don't be arrogant too...
Just be a normal and simple person😊
It's cool to see an animated version of that one trending video that used this combination, but honestly, the official version we got is supreme in every way and incredibly dark and chilling.
this will be my favourite video on YT for at least the next 72h
straight into my "play it til you hate it" playlist
Holy cow! The insert song match perfectly with the video. Truly masterpiece!!!
Man, the animation team sure knows how to make creepy faces… I mean, this shiz gives me goosebumps.
Can you imagine how powerful that hug felt to her?
Finally someone cared
The words definitely hit her even more, but the hug was also powerful
The density of the moment is just too much to handle. Its impossible to decribe what that does to you in words.
Eren is/acts like a true king 🤴. (Leader)
One who wished to protect his people and their future even at the cost of his own life....
Yo this was on point! The moments hit with the music just right!! It matched a perspective I learned after realizing the first episode was titled To You, in 2000 Years
Eren giving his great great grandma a hug
That was the moment when Zeke realized that his dreams will never come true, only Eren's just as their father foresaw in the future
If you think about it, it is really sad how it took Ymir 2000 years to be finally free. She was a slave to the Royal Blood descendants all this time. Eren set her free.
Knowing how the manga ends, the way the music re-contextualizes this scene fits really well.
1:03 RIP ALMOST a perfect sync HAHAHA still amazing tho
This is one of the most incredible scenes!! I’m still not over it
one of the most powerful moments
Zeke be like “heh what’s he going to do? It’s pointless I already gave her a command!” And then is like “oh S*** he’s treating her like a person!”
Funny how his dad literally said Eren gonna win yet Zeke still choose to do nothing
I am totally with Eren. Destroy this world and everything in it.
#teamjaegerists
Okay they should’ve played this song with Eren freeing Ymir because it fits so well
This is addictive. I've seen this now 20 times. And gets better each time
Honestly, the hero we thought Eren was died at the end of season 3. The moment he kissed Historia's hand, everything came full circle and fate took over.
I lowkey wanna see the rumbling played in a heroic theme while they show the brutality of the casualties. To portray that the universe of AOT is never just black and white.
"Vogel im kafig" would be perfect in my opinion.
So damn mysterious how Music changes ways you would see if you know the plot in the End Eren looks more like a Hero than a Villain
Cuz he is a hero of eldians....
Eldians outside the wall is joke to you ?
I really feel sad for Ymir.. everyone used her,, until eren understood her hidden pain..
This should be called, "The Rumbling, But, Eren is the Hero"
AoT really did shift the tone to "nobody is the hero/villain" just for the cheap excuse of not making more epic OST's
@@ryuukami__ the OST in this show is so amazing tho!
@@K4V3man yes but I just miss the old ones

Been waiting for someone to do this

This is one of the best scenes of the anime, seeing Ymir crying gave me goosebumps like few scenes do. She really was waiting for Eren.
Nah bro she was actually waiting for mikasa. The ending ruined this scene. Eren couldn't free her at all. Mikasa did.
@@jyotirani8187it doesn't ruin anything wtf are you talking about lmfao

Suggestion: adjust it to make it sync It probably still works and will be more legendary

@@noir6171 aight bro can't wait for u to make history :)))
The eren zeke and ymir moment in the paths is definitely better with light and shadow but the part where the walls fell down and the colossal titans started to emerge is way better with the footsteps of doom.
I didn't know how much I needed this
And this is how he began his world tour with his only single "The Rumbling"
Funny how Eren hugged Ymir when mikasa didn’t know
This feels like when Eren first blocked the hole in the wall. Tatakae!
Incredible. It brings out the emotions

I loved it so much ! 😍😍😍The songade me extraa emo🥺. Nicejob man!!!!
This looks good as a single scene, but what Mappa is doing awesomely is making a whole episode, they have to make sure everything flows smoothly. And also dont forget that we r now in war era, not some inspiring shits of previous seasons anymore.
The speech of Eren with this OST is incredibly best of just silence of the official one I found, because it amplify the power of this scene, and all emotions
So perfect 👌
Damn I got goosebumps from this, I love both versions of this scene!
0:32 Ngl, that was so good
Damn i miss sawano but this honestly fits pretty well
Sawano = AOT
Light and shadow is such a powerful song. Truly represent ymir background. And that tear😢

To you, in 2000 years.
From you, 2000 years ago💔💔
"You're not a slave! You're not a god! You're just a person!"
This hits hard
"You're not a slave, but you're not a god either. You're just a human"
1:38. It's amazing. It's like Eren peojects its rage onto the Titans in the Wall.
Ymir be like: "Alright, fine. You want this Titan fiasco to end? Be my guest. But if you're asking ME how I want it to end, then I'm going to take a big fat shit on this entire world on my way out."
It’s actually sad. Eren does it all out of genunine kindness
He truly wants to protect his home and family
And even as he wanted to use Ymir, he also wanted to set her free of her suffering and let her choose for herself
It’s the biggest twist of all time, how the protagonist does all this suffering and doesn’t really change and still wants to help those that matter to him
He does it out of selfishness to see a flat world. Doing it for his friends and Paradis was just him trying to rationalize his inevitable actions that he saw.
For 2000 years she's suffering.... Zeke gave her an order,Eren gave her a choice.... The choice to chose rage over mercy
OH GOD! You nailed the match between the music and the scenes! I love this video 👍
This music replaced the 'Armageddon' feeling from music before with 'Hope' nuance 😁.
Eren: "You get to choose"
Also Eren: **Only gives her two options**
-And then she spent a "few" more years making Erens founding titan
When the music starts playing, I've goosebumps everywhere.
just a little reminder that Eren did nothing wrong
True
I'll say this is canon for me, the soundtrack of the original kinda lacks the emotional impact so I'm going with this one, gives me goosebumps!
i did the same edit on my yt channel but the only different is that i synced every single scene with the beat even the end of it using the useebiggirl ost
The original music doesnt need to be emotional with this scene because is not about the most emotional thing ever, is about a person to end a lot of lives, and a lot of people trying their best to stay alive or fight it. Thats why the original still fits even if this one would fit for ymir suffering.
The original suppose to be a scary thing, a thing that is going to be almost post apolyptic, not a thing filled with emotions or too much epicness.
as person above me said! this scene is not supposed to heroic or epic, it is emotional to an extent, but in this scene, ymir literally comes to term with her hatred for the world and decides to give eren the power to flatten it and kill everyone, the music may fit without context but to me it just seems tone deaf to the meaning of what's actually going on! in the episode the silence with zeke shouting in the back, slowly leads up to dark music as they show ymir's face, revealing that we're about to see the rumbling happen, it's perfect that way, atleast imo
@@shesus1986 that has more to do with the fact that this video doesn't have the best editing and directing that gives this OST along with the scene justice. The video below is much better despite being way less popular th-cam.com/video/sopVTTlLZ38/w-d-xo.html
Ymir fritz took my heart with just 1 episode ♥️
Fan-fucking-tastic! A perfect ost to start any omnicide with!
Ymir didn’t deserve what happened to her she was a whole child! She needed to hear that! She needed that hug
this ost was used for league of legends. But lets be fair - Eren told hiroyuki sawano to make it for this scene.
Goodness, I cried a lot when this OST came out... For that whole patch I banned Zoe in every draft and ranked game out of rage because she corrupted Xayah and Rakan 😭
I honestly felt Ymir because all I ever wanted was to sought freedom, my own hope and dream was to be able to follow whoever I want other than my parents who expect me to follow them because they produced me and the fact that I was blind my entire life until a samurai who doesn't even exist came, he was the one who showed me the truth about what it means to be rebellious and independent because it was what freedom means, to be able to have a choice rather than a command. My parents gave me commands, this man gave me the ability to sought choices
I just wish Wit studios had this chance to animate this scene.
