I think this would be a man who spent a part of his life watching a Mother, or sister or loved one being abused but having no way to save them. He saved them all that night.
It does happen more than you think, but i was born and raised in the south and its understood around here that we handle things that we know are wrong.
@ now she is an angel. Thank you for your kind words. It’s been over 30 years and it still hurts. I’m now 10 years older than she was when she was killed.
I believe this actually happened to one of Hardy's friends and from what I understand he is still in prison. You might want to listen to it again because you missed some key points. Thank you for reacting to this
Not true. “The idea for the song came from a conversation between two of its songwriters, Hardy and Hunter Phelps. When discussing what they would do if their fiancées were attacked, Hardy mentioned he would direct the attacker towards himself and then tell his fiancée to "wait in the truck". The pair then realized that "wait in the truck" was a good song title.”
My mama was treated like this by my father. People just looked the other way. This video is a little extreme, but people never help at all. I lived it as a child and because of that my take away is I will never allow violence, I will intervene and always have when I see it. Great tune!
Watch her pant legs at the end. They get wider. He traded. She lost her shackles and he took them for her. I WAS HER at one time. So… It hits hard! 🙏💜🙏
Plus, he sings, "Have mercy on ME Lord" while she sings, simple, "Have mercy". Both are singing for themselves. He is singing to the Lord while she is singing to the justice system. She is singing for mercy for the man that removed HER shackles.
I think the line " I don't know if he's an Angel, because Angels don't do what he did.. " I think he just may be the Angel.. Think about it. He was in an area where he don't go... He was there for a reason...
I think this would be a rare occurrence. Even in the south. (I am born and raised in the south). UNLESS this young woman was known to the man and considered himself responsible for her. Such as her husband, father, brother, cousin, Uncle, grandfather, friend of family, etc. Then this outcome would be expected. If it did not result in death, the result would leave the abuser wishing he was dead. I have known this to play out in my own family. No one died, but medical help was needed. And it was successful in that no more abuse and no further punishment was necessary. In this case, it was the brothers coming to the rescue of their sister. An understanding was reached and the marriage continued on for the rest of their life.
Just a thought here, he gave his life for another’s and I don’t think u can get any more biblical than that. This goes with the concept that angels live among us. And no it isn’t romantic, this is a glimpse of an ugly environment some souls r living in right now this very moment. ✌🏻
To do the morally right thing sometimes violates the law or rules of engagement; and it takes a good MAN of strength to do the correct thing then wait for the justice to meet up with him. By the way, this was a based on a friend of the song writer, he served his time, she was still waiting in the truck, and they were married when he got out of prison.
7:22 not often at all. Many just ignore it or will make an anonymous report to the police but most of the time there’s no one to help them. If he would’ve used the abusers gun he probably would’ve gotten a light sentence or let off entirely as self defense. Not sure how it would work with him showing up but it seemed he didn’t care if he went to jail and he might’ve even lost someone to DV and he wasn’t going to let it happen to her.
Hi Sir love your honesty in your reactions Could you Please check out The Cadillac Three "THE SOUTH "VIDEO A MUST AND JACK INGRAM "LOVE YOU " VIDEO A MUST TY
I respect your opinion but I whole heartedly disagree with several things you mentioned. 1) The video is almost identical to the lyrics and the beauty of country music is story telling, which was masterfully done in both song & video. 2) 60 months = 5 yrs. 3) if there were a lot more men out there that believed and behaved like this man did, I think our children of tomorrow would be in a much better place. Yes, it might break up a toxic family unit, but healthy ones promote a better tomorrow instead of generationally repeating cycles. 4) the symbolism in this video, I could write a term paper on! So brilliant! One example, you pointed out, she’s driving his truck at the end. Another in with the line in the lyrics about “….day of justice would come from under a seat…” a judge is a type of gun. 5) many x’s, with our currrn
Continued 5) many times the way our current law and order, things do not handled. But as this story goes, he’s not sorry he did it. He gave up his freedom for hers. That’s something!
I only come in when I really like a song. If you watch the video instead of your chat; not break-up the story by playing the first :30 seconds; maybe the reactions would get better.
Every country girl knows what he means when he says...Wait In The Truck!! You Do It!!❤
Felt that to my soul! You are 100% correct 😂
I think this would be a man who spent a part of his life watching a Mother, or sister or loved one being abused but having no way to save them. He saved them all that night.
Notice the only person he asked for mercy from was the Lord, not the justice system.

Every abuse victim needs an angel like this. I wish my mama had had one. She was murdered at the age of 52 by hart husband of 18 months.
So very sorry 😢
I wish your mom had an angel too.
@ now she is an angel. Thank you for your kind words. It’s been over 30 years and it still hurts. I’m now 10 years older than she was when she was killed.
Couldn't imagine that happening to my mother,I'd be hellbent on revenge 💔
This Hit Hard, if you've been there! Thanks 🧡 Much Love!
When you save someone, trust me, you feel responsible for them the rest of your life!
I think he had seen someone in his past that he witnessed domestic abuse and could not do anything. 60 months +5 yrs. Essentially he saved her life!
@@pamspead9090 I've heard one of his friends went through this.
I agree. For a reaction this extreme for a stranger, I believe there would be a pre-existing trigger.
It's a very rare situation but has happened

Laney Wilson wore a wig for this video. Her hair is actually blonde. She’s a wonderful singer/songwriter.
It has happened before in real life. I actually watched the trial many years ago, but this artist wrote the son himself, not based on the real story.

I lived it too. I don't understand how nobody ever stood up for my mom. I also will intervene now as a result of that.
@ ❤️
Every girls dream and nightmare😮
This is a true story a friend of the artist

@ absolutely! I’m so thankful someone else understands that part! It’s a truly deep and beautiful song! 💜🙏💜
Thanks buddy...you did a great job..really liked it...63 year old former marine from south carolina

60 months is five years :) and it sounds like he got life.
He waited for the cops and confessed. Bet there are more than a few abusers whose mysterious deaths are never solved.😊
Lainey is in the show Yellowstone! I hear it’s a very popular show. I don’t watch TV anymore!
She's still waiting in the truck.
Avenging angel if i was the judge i would say one day time served
Damn, powerful story...made my eyes water up lol
First time for me as well, didn't see it coming, but as a man! I can relate, no reason to beat a woman!

Watch the awards where they open with it.
I was looking forward to this vid but~honestly~you didn’t watch or hear what is what about. I hope you watch it again-it’s an important piece of work.
It’s a true story.
As a mom, id do the same thing!
A Judge under a seat....in the south, a 45 is called a Judge.
Loretta Lynn Always On My Mind. You won’t regret watching that
Great reaction. Go down the Ole 60 rabbit hole. “Smoke and a light”, “Brother Joe”, “Rose”
Hardy has another I think is great. Give Heaven some hell
Please react to Give Heaven Some Hell video by Hardy. I will love it. Thanks for a great reaction
Hardy looks exactly like Kurt Sutter the actor/director too it’s crazy
Real men will always protect a woman

Started out in county jail taling to his lawyer then to Lainey at the trial then to prison for a visit

I just rewatched the reaction and I don’t understand what you mean Texas. I’m not going to hit the mark on every reaction and I’m okay with that
First scene in the video he's in shackles and you're asking if he's in prison? And then you cut the video in the middle of the first hook?
Can you react to Biggg8 x MotoZilla - Stevie Wonder?
60 months is 5 yrs....this woman is still visiting him and driving his truck after that long? She waiting in the truck for her man to be released
You’re ruining it, I want to hear the song
It's a reaction video.
There's an artist rendition if interruptions annoy you.
Thank you for having my back! lol

Omfg! I WASN'T subscribed?!
I watch you! Sorry!
Rectified!
Corny song about being a tough guy 😂
I think it's a tad cheesy but I'm good with anything that gets people to talk more about domestic violence, and this song definitely has done that. ✌️
Oh, very romantic. Have to disagree. This is a real man!
