lol, "Dumbledore" is actually Leland Sklar one of the most in demand bass players in the business. This whole concert from 2004 in Paris is really worth a watch, truly amazing
I saw Phil Collins live with his solo band perform this song 4 different times. Incredible and spine tingling every time. Altogether, I saw Phil live with Genesis and solo 14 times live.
Loved her reaction to Phil Collins! She doesn't know who ZZ Top is??? Don't keep her in suspense any longer! I've seen them in concert and they were awesome! I would love to see you guys react to them and the Eagles too! Who doesn't love Phil Collins, The Eagles & ZZ Top? #RockOn
I watch everyone's reaction to this video! I still get goosebumps (or chicken skin) when I watch it. Phil Collins is the greatest! "Easy Lover" is a must if you haven't seen it! The video is funny and highlights his friendship with Philip Bailey.
First time I heard this song was on Miami Vice! It seemed to be the beginning of pairing great music to shows and elevated their attraction. Miami Vice and this song became iconic!
Can't stay away from your channel I'm literally going through my teen years with this great classic rock ❤ it ! . Your wife seems pretty cool... Y'all make a cute couple. Rock on !
I’ve watched this so many times. People, in the beginning, are so ready for it to get going. Then it starts and they are mesmerized by his voice. Then the drum drop at the end blows them away. Perfect. I heard this song the first time on Miami Vice but this performance is so much more incredible. I was a young adult when Collin’s first came on the scene so it seems natural to watch him drum and sing at the same time. Just like Henley and the Eagles. Roger Taylor in Queen. David Grohl from Foo Fighters started out as a drummer. Karen Carpenter. Collin is an incredible performer. Wonder how many people know he’s also actor Lily Collin’s (Emily in Paris) dad?
I love Wifey's reactions. She was like, "Hey, don't pause this yet." She was just SO into it at that point. I watch all these reactions to this video just to watch the people discover Phil does the drums. I grew up with this song and it didn't hit me until I found this video it hit me like a ton of bricks just HOW talented is on it. Going down that rabbit hole has been a fun ride.
Phil is a 'Prog Rock' God having played with Genesis from the early 70s. You gotta check out his live Genesis dual drumming with Chester Thompson. Checkout the live Rome open air gig in 2007 in front of half a million people it is insane. It is amazing so many have never heard of Phil before along with Genesis he has sold over 300 million albums! yes 300 million! He took over from another legend Peter Gabriel as lead singer in 1975. Again checkout the live old Genesis medley of In The Cage/Cinema Show/ Dukes Travels/Afterglow it is off the charts!
I never get tired of seeing reactions to this performance!!! It's so much fun to sit back, relax, and watch others enjoy the ride for the first time!!!!
It is fun to watch people see Phil get on the drums, for the first time. The guitar player with the long white beard, they show head shots of, is Leland Sklar. He is probably the most heard, least seen bassist out there. Phil and Genesis have a lot of music between them. If you are looking for a fun Genesis song then check out "Land of Confusion". It's one of my favorites. A note on playing drums all ones life. Drums are hard on the body. Actually an occupational hazard, due to what the repetitive vibrations do to your joints. I believe Phil and Neil Peart were suffering from the effects.
Bass player is Leland Sklar….you will be astounded by the number of artists he has played with and records he has recorded. You must react to some early Genesis…anything from the 70’s will be a revelation for you!
Phil Collins is the goat 🐐 I wish I would have seen him in concert ❤ Another drummer you should look at is Godsmack’s Battle of the Drums. Lead singer, Sully Erna is originally a drummer and he and their drummer, Shannon Larkin, almost always battle it out on their drums. It’s so cool!
He's actual a drummer in first and singer on second. He took over the vocal in Genesis, when the singer left the band. Drumeo released a cool docu about him recently.
I love seeing both of you react! I highly recommend watching the video Miami Vice - In the Air Tonight scene. No reaction requested just thought you’d like it.
That bassist with his foot-and-a-half-long gray beard is Leland Sklar and has been one of the most instantly recognizable sessions musicians on stage or in videos for decades. He has played with the Wolfgang Band & then with James Taylor & Carole King as part of Taylors backing band, and many other notables like Willie Nelson & Nils Lofgren. Most folks don't know his name, but they do recognize him!
Phil Collins was the first CD I ever owned back in 1986. I played In the Air Out bc UT sounded so clean and crisp unlike anything ever heard for that time!❤❤❤❤❤ Love it when your wife in on.. Ya'll should do Gerry Rafferty "Right Down the Line" together. She has to do it with you!
Everytime I hear that drum solo, I think about Mike Tyson in The Hangover when he makes everyone stop and listen to it in the middle of an argument 😆 🤣 😂 .. it's super funny!! 😁 😂
Bassist Leland Sklar, is the " ZZ Top" man you guys were talking about. Played bass with Jackson Brown, James Taylor , and a host of others. Very talented, and played on many studio albums, tv, and movies
The bass player (Dumbledore) is Leland Sklar. Who is in the top 100 bass players list. Always fun to watch, love and best wishes to you and yours. Be well.
This is from the 2007 Genesis Tour. Phil Collins's health issues began with a spinal injury in 2007 that damaged the vertebrae in his upper neck. Phil Collins is in a wheel chair he is unable to play drums and walks with a stick or uses a wheelchair. In 2022, he appeared with his band at the O2 Arena in London, at a gig billed as Genesis’s last ever show. Collins appeared on stage in a wheelchair to sing and play tambourine, as he joked that he’d have to get “a real job now”.
One of the best songs ever performed. Everyone just waits for those drums. This was back when singers actually sang, so their voice always sounded the same on stage as they did on the radio. To play the drums as he does, and do do it perfectly as he sings perfectly is sheer talent. It's heartbreaking to see his health failing as it is.
Maybe you would like The Warning if you like drummers that sing, take a look at their performance of Dust to dust / Dull knives at the Pepsi center CDMX, then tell me if you liked it!
It is awesome that you have figured out how to react to the Eagles content. You should check out Don Henley’s solo work. I recommend “The End of the Innocence” b/c he worked with Bruce Hornsby to write it and he plays the piano for the track. It is a great song you would enjoy.
His daughter is Lily Collins, the actress. You may have seen her in movies such as The Blind Side or Abduction or the current tv series Emily in Paris.
If she liked this she'd love The Warning- 23 live at Teatro or Pepsi Center. You still haven't heard a song from them with Pau (drums) on lead vocals yet.
There is a 5 min 48 sec interview on TH-cam about In the Air Tonight. Phil doesn't know what the song is about. He just wrote the song while angry. His wife told him if he went on tour her and the kids would be gone when he got back. Has nothing to do with affairs. Anyways his ex is mad at him because she feels he is capitalizing on their divorce. There are other interviews about this song and I've never heard Phil talk about any affairs.
B.P. nice seeing you introduce Wifey to Phil Collins Live .. You mentioned ELO - Evil Woman but there is another song of the same name, a band called "Crow" had a hit "Evil Woman" in 1969.. I still have the original vinyl album.. If you want to listen to it I will send it to you and you can do a reaction straight of the vinyl album.? Dave
Speaking of Genesis, BP, you should give a listen to "Misunderstanding." It's a very different vibe from what you've heard from them before, but in a way, it's kind of close to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil. It's from 1980, I believe.
BP, another singing drummer, or, drumming singer, from the 60s-70s, would be Rare Earth. (sorry, no name coming to me.) "Celebrate", or "I'm Losing You" would be a good place to start.
There's a great vid of his son Nic doing a drum solo. His band Genesis reunited in 2022 for their final tour and his son Nic replaced him on drums for the tour.
Firstly, love Phil Collins and got to see him once (thanks to a friend) at the Hollywood Bowl many years ago. Was an excellent drummer. Speaking of Genesis, I’m back again with my recommendation for Land of Confusion, as others have also mentioned. It’s a wacky video with puppet representations of the band and a message to care about earth’s environment. I love when Wifey gets to see new things on the channel. By the way, directly to her: Luv the hair. I also have long blond(-ish) hair and only ever had success getting it a little spirally by braiding it while damp and letting it dry overnight with curlers on the ends so it wasn’t weirdly straight. Too much hair to only use hot curling iron or full head of curlers. My hair is so damn straight the hot iron wouldn’t keep the curls if iI took all that time to try it that way.
Although best known for his powerhouse role in Queen, Roger Taylor is anything but a drummer confined to his kit. With rock n'roll in his veins all through his schooldays, he has always been a highly active, vocal member of Queen. His vocas are higher than Frddie Mercury.
Phil Collins can't tour anymore, due to severe disabling issues. He no longer can drum at all due to nerve damage. Last time he toured with his band Genesis in 2021 he sang from a wheelchair.
Genesis "Misunderstanding" "Mama" (becareful with Mama because it's got alot of meaning) "Throwing it All Away" "Turn It On".. Genesis has a ton of hits! " "Man on the Corner" Abacab "Tonight Tonight Tonight"
You should now step up and react to Phil Collins doing a drum duet and instrumental with Chester Thompson, the second drummer with Genesis, called DRUM DUET/LOS ENDOS at Wembley Stadium 1987. Incredible drumming and playing by 2 drum masters and some great kick azz jazz fusion from Genesis.
Yeah, drummers who sing while drumming are thin on the ground, Phil and Karen Carpenter are the only two I can think of right now apart from a new kid on the block Paulina Villarael from The Warning, Dust to dust at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX or maybe 23 from the Pepsi center CDMX are both great examples.
I love when people find out he’s the drummer , it cracks me up. 😂😂😂
me too
Me three.
It cracks me up when people find out he’s a singer😝
😂😂😂😂
Old school singers could really sing ‼️ they didn’t have all the buttons and tricks they use today 🤨☝️ ❤️ the 70-80-90Ties ❤️✌️
lol, "Dumbledore" is actually Leland Sklar one of the most in demand bass players in the business. This whole concert from 2004 in Paris is really worth a watch, truly amazing
I saw Phil Collins live with his solo band perform this song 4 different times. Incredible and spine tingling every time. Altogether, I saw Phil live with Genesis and solo 14 times live.
He's also very into Texas history. He donated a huge amount of artifacts that he collected over the years to a museum in the Alamo.
This song has been awesome forever 😍! It still slaps ❤. Thank you and your wife for this reaction
#RockOn
I agree! Wifey has gotta see some ZZ!
This never gets old ❤
I watch everyone's reaction to this video! I still get goosebumps (or chicken skin) when I watch it. Phil Collins is the greatest! "Easy Lover" is a must if you haven't seen it! The video is funny and highlights his friendship with Philip Bailey.
Great song! 👍🏻
First time I heard this song was on Miami Vice! It seemed to be the beginning of pairing great music to shows and elevated their attraction. Miami Vice and this song became iconic!
I bought Face Value the day it was released, by the time this song was on Miami Vice I was already tired of it lol.
his ability to sing and play the drums is amazing
Can't stay away from your channel I'm literally going through my teen years with this great classic rock ❤ it ! . Your wife seems pretty cool... Y'all make a cute couple. Rock on !
Love Phil, thanks guys. I really enjoy watching the both of you reacting together 😊

I loved when you paused your wife's reaction was the same as ours. LOL She was just really into it!!! ❤❤❤
Guaranteed goosebumps every time, I loved the delight on Mrs Pegasus face 💜
Has wifey seen the Disneys “Tarzan” movie - he does the entire soundtrack. Brilliant. Two Worlds, You’ll Be In My Heart, Strangers Like Me
I still get chills watching this. Nice to see your wife on again 💚 Bendicion to your beautiful family. Good reaction together.
It’s so cool how Phill goes from almost goofy to being in character for the song. This is such an epic song! Thank you guys.
I love Wifey's reactions. She was like, "Hey, don't pause this yet." She was just SO into it at that point. I watch all these reactions to this video just to watch the people discover Phil does the drums. same here

I came here to recommend Land of Confusion, as well. 😂👍🏻
Now I wanna pop in my Genesis and Phil Collins CD'S
Listen to some of Phil’s long songs with wifey… “Against All Odds”, “Two Hearts”, “Hold On My Heart” (Genesis)
" I got this paperwork though" bout made me spit my drink out laughing! 😂
Bass player is Leland Sklar….you will be astounded by the number of artists he has played with and records he has recorded. You must react to some early Genesis…anything from the 70’s will be a revelation for you!
He is a insane drummer 😂!! It's funny you just realized that 🤣
He is not just a drummer, he’s a percussionist extraordinaire!!! Master drummer.
Phil Collins is the goat 🐐 I wish I would have seen him in concert ❤
Another drummer you should look at is Godsmack’s Battle of the Drums. Lead singer, Sully Erna is originally a drummer and he and their drummer, Shannon Larkin, almost always battle it out on their drums. It’s so cool!
I just wanted to say thank you for posting as often as you do. It has pulled me out of a funk and I appreciate that.
As a fellow viewer, I hope things improve for you.
BACK IN 2009 ROBERT & WIFEYYYY!!! 😊 AROUND 80,000 FANS, INSANE!😮👍YOU GUYS HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE YEAR AND MORE, NIIIICCCE FAMILY PORTRAIT ALSO!💯
Just to let you know FYI Karen Carpenter is a drummer also❤❤❤❤
I have watched this so many times, I love watching others react to the legend that is Phil Collins.
Yeah, I was surprised by that too.
The other one who I was also surprised by was the drummer and Lead Singer was Don Henley of The Eagles.
KAREN CARPENTER ROBERT, HOW COULD YOU FORGET!!! 😮😊ONE OF YOUR FAVORITES I KNOW THAT👍BUT NOT A WHOLE LOT SANG & DRUMMED AT THE SAME TIME💯
❤ your wife sways to the melody and you go with the drum beat…lovely couple

No auto tune and just a small amount of reverb. Truly incredible voice!!!😲😲
Have albums seen in concert awesome 💯😎💯😎
Phil Collins did most if not all the music to Disney's Tarzan. I believe one of the songs " You'll Be In My Heart " was nominated for an Oscar
Everytime I hear that drum solo, I think about Mike Tyson in The Hangover when he makes everyone stop and listen to it in the middle of an argument 😆 🤣 😂 .. it's super funny!! 😁 😂

Loved this!!
you and your significant other reacting together is my fav
Phil Collins/Genesis & Heart were my two favorite bands of the 80's and to this day are still at the top of my list.
Phil is amazing with Genesis and also solo! U both should react to Land Of Confusion! 😁🙏
This is one of those songs from my young adult life I NEVER get tired of. To Quote Phil Collins - I'm a drummer that sings a little. :)
The bass player (Dumbledore) is Leland Sklar. Who is in the top 100 bass players list. Always fun to watch, love and best wishes to you and yours. Be well.
SOooooSmooth SOoooooGroovy TY for sharing this
This is from the 2007 Genesis Tour. Phil Collins's health issues began with a spinal injury in 2007 that damaged the vertebrae in his upper neck. Phil Collins is in a wheel chair he is unable to play drums and walks with a stick or uses a wheelchair.

Nope. This is from Paris 2004 on a Phil solo band tour. Phil never sang In the Air Tonight with Genesis. They kept their solo songs for solo tours.
I love me some phil collins!
The documentary on Phil Collin’s by his son is incredible, highly recommend!
Phil Collins - Drums, Drums & More Drums.....You have to watch this..
How hard it is to play the drums and sing perfectly.
Maybe you would like The Warning if you like drummers that sing, take a look at their performance of Dust to dust / Dull knives at the Pepsi center CDMX, then tell me if you liked it!
Love it, thank you very much 🤗
The late Karen Carpenter also sang and played drums at the same time. She started as a drummer, not a singer. R.I.P. Karen Carpenter. ✌️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Here we goooooo 😂
Wifey sparkles up the show. She should have her own channel. ❤
😊
It is awesome that you have figured out how to react to the Eagles content. You should check out Don Henley’s solo work. I recommend “The End of the Innocence” b/c he worked with Bruce Hornsby to write it and he plays the piano for the track. It is a great song you would enjoy.
I second doing Don's solo music! The End Of The Innocence is one of my favorite songs! The Boys Of Summer is a very close second! 🙌
This song as also used in the morning v show Miami Vice
His daughter is Lily Collins, the actress. You may have seen her in movies such as The Blind Side or Abduction or the current tv series Emily in Paris.
If she liked this she'd love The Warning- 23 live at Teatro or Pepsi Center. You still haven't heard a song from them with Pau (drums) on lead vocals yet.
Still would love to get a Heatwave reaction. “Always and Forever “ is the best R&B Love song of all time . Extremely underrated.
Your wife is gorgeous! God bless your family!
His son is now the drummer for him…
Phil can play multiple instruments (drums, keyboard, guitar, vocals)
Piano, drum machine etc....
B.P. nice seeing you introduce Wifey to Phil Collins Live .. You mentioned ELO - Evil Woman but there is another song of the same name, a band called "Crow" had a hit "Evil Woman" in 1969.. A band called Kyrbgrinder also has a drummer/singer. He is also drummer for a prog band called Threshold.
Review Phil Collins drum duet, it's awesome.
Speaking of Genesis, BP, you should give a listen to "Misunderstanding." It's a very different vibe from what you've heard from them before, but in a way, it's kind of close to "In the Air Tonight" by Phil. It's from 1980, I believe.
Never knew he was a drummer saying that I’ve never watched his music videos 😆😆😆😆
Love it! 🎉🎉Happy new year guys! ❤
Another great Phil Collins reaction would be Mama, when he was with Genesis. Awesome song and surprisingly off the beaten path...
It was a huge radio hit in 83-84.
MIAMI VICE + FERRARI DAYTONA COOLEST SCENE EVER❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸
For another drummer/lead singer, check out Rare Earth. They were the first white band signed by Motown.
BP, another singing drummer, or, drumming singer, from the 60s-70s, would be Rare Earth. (sorry, no name coming to me.) "Celebrate", or "I'm Losing You" would be a good place to start.
show, Miami Vice, Phil collins was on it, had the song in the air tonight on it, sheena easton singer was in the show as well.
Not even the movie Risky Business? 😂 Lol! Keep it going guys! The channel is great! 🙂
There's a great vid of his son Nic doing a drum solo. His band Genesis reunited in 2022 for their final tour and his son Nic replaced him on drums for the tour.
I will always air-drum to this one! I don't think you've given your wife a TH-cam name yet,but I think of her as Georgia!
I urge you, I beg you, I implore you, I beseech you to share Peter Gabriel's live performance of "In Your Eyes" from 1993 with your lovely wife.

Arthritis amongst other things
Genesis "Misunderstanding" "Mama" (becareful with Mama because it's got alot of meaning) "Throwing it All Away" "Turn It On".. Genesis has a ton of hits! " "Man on the Corner" Abacab "Tonight Tonight Tonight"
Those are mostly their worst songs.
I think the wifey is now a Phil Collins fan😅
You should check out the drum battle between him and Chester at his Paris concert....it's great!

He was 56 years old here. He sounds the same now in his 70's.
Levon Helm from the band !
Only a suggestion but Phil has another song called 'I Dont Care Anymore' I always thought was real good js 👍 🔥 thx yall ✌ appreciate 😊
The song was used to great effect on miami vice
