I own an E350 wagon in the Milwaukee metro area in the US. I live in a neighborhood with $1M+ homes and I haven't seen another E series wagon in months. This video amazes me. I flew to Ohio to purchase mine. I bought it as a nicer performing luxury vehicle, which I could commute with good mileage, still fitting my big dogs and kids. Also 3rd row rear facing seat... I just don't understand why wagons aren't a thing here. People think they're going to be big off road people. I've never had a problem with snow, and also have an SUV from subaru which has been off road once in 3 years. Buy a car for your every day, and rent for your aspirational days.

I as a German am pretty surprised by how much attention the Mercedes station wagons get from Doug because here in Germany they are one of the most common things. It feels like everybody has one
well yea bc its germany + its europe. europeans love wagons and germany has a lot of mercs. as doug mentioned people in the usa don't care for wagons too much, its suv's. but he mentions older americans do go for the wagons. i agree with this observation. the only wagon in my neighborhood, which is a merc too, is owned by a very old couple. everyone else is in an suv or sedan.

As a subscriber to most high profile US car TH-cam channels (I like the 60's - 80's cars), it's apparent that the US car manufacturers have no models currently for sale, that can match the quality, design, engineering, driving experience of Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Lamborghini, and even bread and butter VW stuff. Why has it taken Chevrolet so long to join the 21st Century and produce a mid engine Corvette with a sequential gearbox, - the C7 Corvette has been amazingly successful in GT racing world wide. Astonishing really.

Absolutely love these car spotting vids, Doug. I personally car-spot pretty much all the time, but with barely half the automotive knowledge and far less interesting street-parked cars to spot, so it's an absolute treat to watch you do it!

As a Brit in the UK, really loved the 'Car Spotting' videos. As a subscriber to most high profile US car TH-cam channels (I like the 60's - 80's cars), it's apparent that the US car manufacturers have no models currently for sale, that can match the quality, design, engineering, driving experience of Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Lamborghini, and even bread and butter VW stuff. Why has it taken Chevrolet so long to join the 21st Century and produce a mid engine Corvette with a sequential gearbox, - the C7 Corvette has been amazingly successful in GT racing world wide. Astonishing really.
Doug is the guy I wanna go on rides with...I really enjoy spotting cars in autobahn or anywhere else and we'd have a lot to talk about

The funniest thing is that the Neighborhood tried to have them removed! I saw an article about them about a month ago and how they had to be moved inside, so it looks like either they were allowed to stay outside or Doug visited before they were moved.
