When I say Midra is one of my favorite DLC bosses I mean it, gameplay wise he actually feels like a very old school souls-like boss which is nice compared to everything else in the game.
YES! This exactly! Midra is a DS/DS2 Era boss that somehow found his way into Elden Ring, he can hit like a truck and he delays basically every attack just about but the way he dances is like the perfected version of the older kinds of bosses, he rewards a more passive and patient play style, being very readable so you can really learn his delays and giving generous openings after his attacks to reward dodging them exactly. He feels like a refined old school boss and it's great, easily my favourite Elden Ring DLC boss and one of my favourite bosses in the franchise.
The only boss in the whole dlc (besides messmer mb), who had a fight that felt like a dance, like older souls used to be. He even has a waltz as his background music.
I wish the incantation you get from him was better. Too much FP and Madness cost for a minimal increase over the other similar spell. The sword is BRUTAL against other players though.
Good grief, I'm getting my ass handed to me by bosses in this DLC. Level 13 on the fragments but getting immediately assaulted when summoning is a real bitch. I don't play enough to get good because of work and this DLC is a skill check unfortunately. Managed to beat mesemer by the skin of my teeth but getting stonewalled by bosses since then. Extremely frustrating.
Midra shouldn’t take no longer than 10-13seconds to beat with No damage taken ijs. That’s why I love Souls games, everyone can play the way that “they” want to that fits “their” play style. Utmost respect on your boss fight.

Especially compared to the final boss, brutal flashy and unfair

True, it's boss type that "want to fight you", not "want to smash you with all abilities at once"

Meaning he's doable solo
Great dungeon, great buildup, great cutscene, great OST, perfect combat. Hitboxes are perfect on this 👌 favourite Elden boss for me
Uploads this right as I'm watching a lore video on him. Perfect.
Making it look easy as usual. Great job

Midra also doesn't even use that incantion himself I think, I would rather get that cool laser beam he does
@@Kai_Smeets Game already has a madness laser beam incantation.
You didn’t even let him finish his sentence.
I bought the DLC because of all your videos wwas great took me like 30 tries to beat consort but easily worth every penny this DLC
My first time against this mf was on ng+ 6 and my ass got beaten worse than a used mop
Reinforced my pure hatred over the frenzied flame
