The thing about this boss is that I was always doing just fine, dodging great and all and get him to like 1/3 of health bar without issue. Then I get hit ONE TIME, that leads to fumbled dodge, getting blendered, so I have to retreat to heal, which is instantly healpunished (i fucking hate that input read so much), which leads to getting blendered again and I am on back foot for rest of the fight :D But overall one of the most fair and interesting bosses, even tho he can be somewhat cheesed by poise breaks (lions claw or - in my case - wild strikes on blacksteel greathammer) absolutely melt him. But it certainly doesnt look so fucking cinematic like Ongbals videos :D

Bro, I don't want to imagine if ONGBAL had his "Dragon Twin Sword" in ER. The guy is a legend!
i love the creative dodges he does w AoW's and spells
Really was expecting more from this fight. Dude was really easy for the lord of frenzy flame
Mist Noble finally decided to unleash his true power 😱
Both ONGBAL and this DLC are better than we deserve 🙏
The thing about this boss is that I was always doing just fine, dodging great and all and get him to like 1/3 of health bar without issue. Then I get hit ONE TIME, that leads to fumbled dodge, getting blendered, so I have to retreat to heal, which is instantly healpunished (i fucking hate that input read so much), which leads to getting blendered again and I am on back foot for rest of the fight :D
But overall one of the most fair and interesting bosses, even tho he can be somewhat cheesed by poise breaks (lions claw or - in my case - wild strikes on blacksteel greathammer) absolutely melt him. But it certainly doesnt look so fucking cinematic like Ongbals videos :D
Him holding the sword and it piercing it's flesh evokes the same feeling as Griffith piercing his neck on some wood just before eclipse. Both Midra and Griffith are in that moment completely powerless and in torment just before attaining supreme power
glad someone else caught that as well. This boss also reminds me of dead cells
I think there's a difference between Midra pulling a sword out of his head and the twink from Baby's First Dark Fantasy manga but ok.
Always gotta be some mf who's like "OMG IT'S LIKE BERK!!!"
@@BrainlessV2A little overly aggressive but a hilarious description nonetheless.
@@BrainlessV2 i don't even like berserk but Miyazaki does constantly reference it, what are you on about
@@BrainlessV2my brother in christ why are you acting like Miyazaki is not a massive simp for Berserk. Messmer is an obvious reference, Miquella is arguably one too, the Blackgaol Knight is Guts no questions asked.
This little circlejerk of people calling out every little thing as a Berserk reference has lead to contrarians like you that can't accept even the most obvious reference. I can't decide which side is more annoying.
Really good player, probably the best player I've ever seen in ELDEN RING.
He is hotter and more deadly than the king of the frenzied flame.
you gotta love the high poise damage the White light charge does, one of the best weapons in the dlc.
What a beautiful choreography honestly
That was so cool to watch!
Man I was really worried for you there in phase 1.
Using the meteor sword to close distance is actually genius idk why i never thought to do that
Im surprised you didn't go for parries with this guy, I found that to be fun. Regardless though you made it look easy as always lol
Here we go again! 🔥🔥
The order of Ongbal’s uploads further proves how erratic the patterns are in the DLC bosses.
This one ive waited for
Loved this boss fight. It felt like a deadly dance.
That Messmer's Orb dodge was sick.
Mesmer orb: I'm just an escape toy TBH
When Midra pulls out the thorns his body makes the Brand of Sacrifice
Messemer Orb for the dodge is the coolest thing ive ever seen
It’s like you’re the boss and he’s fighting you
I also just did this boss hitless:)
You are an inspiration Ongbal
The amount of times I've died to him before he becomes frenzy lord is frankly embarrassing but funny as hell too
He found the bear hat, very epic
Amazing run!!!
One of the best FromSoft bosses yet.
blood blade ash of war on weapons or reduvia absolutely melts this boss, you can just spam it as the boss slowly walks towards you without dodging anything
I could totally see Midra being a fair boss to fight in Darksouls 3’s mechanics
Wtf that dodge with Messmer's Orb was insane! 3:08
I really appreciate you for not fingerprint shield poking my favorite boss to death
One of the best bosses in the DLC and ER overall. Classic tough but fair fight, he hits hard and has some tricky moves but he breaks easily and rewards aggression. Loved the encounter, the music, his design, as well as the horror vibe of the dungeon and its lead-up. Up there with Messmer and Rellana for me.
man i love watching this guy play games. you should try using the beast claw or red bears claw, dodging attacks with the charged heavy and feint is very stylish and cool.
ANCIENT METEORIC ORE GREATSWORD USAGE YAYYYY, its such a fun weapon and its dmg feels very very good, i love it a lot
It's amazing against tanky ass enemies like the fire knights or horned warriors
