Savestates used here would probably be to ensure that if the runner got a game over they wouldn't have to play the whole game again - just restore to the savestate from before the stage where you got a game over and stitch the successful runs together in editing.
I think I just found another videogame series I really like now. Edit: And now one month later im a dedicated Touhou fan and this game is my favorite for introducing to the world of Touhou! Thank you for the playthrough
man, zun's old watercolor style art really does hit different. i know his technical art skills have improved a lot over the years, but this just has such a charm that i feel the new games are missing
tbh his new style isn't great either, but it is a bit more consistent. i still like both, but yeah, there was a certain charm to the early windows era art

it is called airstrike 3d and oh god it is hard but I grew up playing it and yeah I play on nightmare difficulty hardest mode here's the damage of they do 1pellet=50% 1missle=70% heavy shots=85-90% heavy missle=95% anything else=1shot

When you press Shift your character slows down and the orbs go up like that
Pressing shift slows down your movement speed and centers your shots. In future games, it also makes your hitbox visible.
