      I think I used clothes in a mod in fallout 4, and didn't realize that the back of my charters neck is invisible for 10 hours of game play. I have tried figuring it out, but the only thing that works for me is going to a previous save file. I don't get what the problem is. Any way I can add a string or something in my ini? Tomorrow I'll try full re installing the mod commonwealth haircut ks... Whatever it is. Doubt it will work.

    this is great but can you help me with the problem I am having. It takes me 10 to 20 seconds for a texture to load and thats if I look at it. If I don't look at it it will take more time to load, my specs GTX970 3GB, 16GB RAM intel core i7.

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Fabio = )
      The issue itself I'm not too sure about. I've had issues where LOD files (distant static objects) would overlay on their upclose counterparts. Generally setting the postload time to 2000, (and lowering my DynDOLOD settings in Skyrim, as that is where the originated from) fixed this.
      Your specs are good. If this doesn't happen in a non modded game but only a modded one than I would say that perhaps the textures are pushing your GPU past it's limits. I would also suggest, on topic or not, to never use 4K textures. Doing so is asking for issues unless they are strictly in door textures (isolated from the large open world which renders much more than interior locations). Not sure that info will help but its the best I got = )
      -Michael

    • @FabioJackson
      @FabioJackson 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your reply, I don't know how to explain it but maybe you are right could be the LOD distances, because if I am casually looking around slowly everything renders okay but if I sprint my way through the wasteland...then I get these low resolution textures for a couple of seconds then they load after 10 to 20 seconds. Grass just disappears and so do the buildings. In vanilla game everything loads fine with the mods it does not, I only use textures no lower than 2k from grafix and higher resolution mods. I just uninstalled the game again its very unplayable especially when you don't like bad graphics :D

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those low res versions popping into the regular version sounds like LOD = ) If they "flicker" when you move its definitely LOD (it's z fighting-ish... the LOD and the regular ones are fighting for position). .. take your time and test the mods as you go = ) .. If you get one mod working... then you won't need to uninstall it again = ) ... get 1, test, go to the next.

    GP - I have to say that this instruction set, like just about all of the things you produce, is brilliant and inclusive with great visuals to assist with the explanations. Unfortunately, while there are some good basic guides for SKYRIM SE SKSE64, they tend to lack depth and clarity as well as visual examples. Moreover, BethINI has a more than a few additional setting which are not covered in this video (obviously, because FO4 does not have these settings). In any case, if you have it within you and your time, could you please create a similar video for SSE (and a linke to NexusMod BethINI page would be great too).
    Thank-you, in advance, for your time and consideration, all the best...

    This tool is one of the mods that is recommended in the guide. But surprisingly this guide works for Skyrim even though it is for FO4 which kinda shows your ability to explain things in a concise manner. Great job sir.

  • @ColeSlav

    I don't know how, but on my last modding session of Fallout 4, after installing BethINI, I finally achieved 70+ fps at the top of Corvega and other areas where performance is normally shit. Upon making a new save game, my performance in those areas was shit again around the 40s. After two years I was finally able to see the game at a solid 60 in those areas. I'm going to try to replicate it and figure out what I did to get that performance. I was extremely pissed when this glimmer of stability faded after starting a new game. It's my new goal in life to figure out how to get 60+ fps in the shit areas and how to keep it that way. Two freaking years of modding and tweaking and I struck gold just for it to be taken away in a matter of hours. Now I know that it's possible for the game to run great in demanding areas. Seen it with my own two god damn eyes. i7 4790k, GTX 1080, 16GB of RAM. Those are my specs and honestly I shouldn't have to go through this to get that kind of performance. Guess we all have to do Bethesdas job for them. Anyways. Came here to comment because I think by some happy accident BethINI had something to do with this when I was tweaking. Will update if I manage to recreate the miracle.

    Hail!
    I may be a potato, but, as i understand.
    Mod Organizer 1, doesn't work with Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition.
    So, we must use Mod Organizer 2.
    But, with that, i've readed that MO2 have some peculiar installation process to make it work properly.
    And, i may just be blind, but i haven't found a tutorial, for MO2 installation on the Channel.
    Is the Tutorial for him, something on the works, it's launched, or it's not gonna be released, as Vortex(?) aproaches even closer to public release?
    Anyway, i really love your videos! Great work!
    By the way,
    I am thinking of attempting to make something similar to your great work, but in PT_BR, because many users from Brazil, can read but aren't good into hearing and understand english, and i would ask if there would be problems if i use your great tutorials as a baseline.
    Of course, all credits would be pointed here!

    Just subscribed. Man, Great channel. I have always watched Gopher & Xuul and Dirty Weasel. They are all good. Real good. Found you by accident and you are REALLY good at this. They say a true master can explain the complicated in a simple way. You, sir, are a master!
    Right, then, I have a question for you. At the time of this video, you make it clear that running FO3\FO4\FONV through MO, MO will use the default ini files which would include changes such as 4gb or mouse changes, right?
    In other words, any changes I made directly to Fallout 3 ini files (using notepad++) will be used by MO. At least when this video was made. So if MO begins to use its "own" ini files, will they be based upon those same modified files in my GOTY folder? Or does MO generate its own from some other database? How will I know which ones it is using without examining ini files individually and comparing them?
    Can you explain this? Thanks a ton.

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. MO will completely ignore the default location (my games directory) ini path. Checkout todays mod organizer video upload, look in the description and jump ahead to the ini file section (its short) It may explain it better. MO's .ini files are stored within mod organizer/profiles and that's the ones that it uses. MO2 for FO4 and SSE is something that I won't touch yet due to all the bugs with 64bit games that the new MO team is working out. I've heard that many are using it but it has too many issue for me to tackle just yet = )

However I have load times of upwards to 30 seconds. How can I lower this? I have read that the game's physics is tied to the FPS but so are the load times. Any program like this, for me, is a good starting point. If I'm trying to optimize anything I'm getting into the .ini files directly and playing around. But this does give you a decent amount of options and its created by someone I "know" and trust.

      Make sure things are working before using bethini. Then you can go and try to dial things down. If you use a custom.ini it's going to overwrite what this app does to the default ini files.

    Quick problem. Really it's a small thing but since it never happened before I started fiddling with BethINI, I figured I'd bring it up.
    No idea if BethINI is even the cause, it just started happening after I followed your video.
    Whenever I start NMM from my E drive (similar to how you present it in the NMM install video) a window pops up saying "You have no Fallout 4 INI file. Please run Fallout 4 to initialize the file before installing any mods or turning on Archive Invalidation."
    It honestly runs fine after that window. I can even install mods fine (I tried a single cheat console mod to test it on an older save) The thing is I did run FO4 before DL either BETHINI or NMM, so I'm confused as to why this would be happening.
    In the end it seems just to be a hoop to jump through before getting into NMM proper. Although I am curious as to what I may have done to have this appear. Anyone else come across this? Any help is appreciated.

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't use NMM much but I've actually been seeing this recently as well. I only use it to test out things on rare occasions for FO4 and Skyrim SE (I get it with both games). I think it could just be something to do with NMM (but that's really just a guess from not using it much). I never had any issues either after ignoring the message and it always returns. In case it is a BethINI related issue (i doubt it, but I can't tell you that for certain) I could check with DoubleYou on the STEP wiki forums (post a new topic if need be). He will give you a direct answer.

      also, i don't get this issue with Mod Organizer on my 32bit games that I've used BethINI on, which is what makes me think that it may just be something new with NMM... but again...

    TAA sucks! It really does. This post processing crap isnt anti aliasing, it's just blurring your image so you cant see aliasing anymore. Use DSR (nvidia) or VSR (amd) instead. Both are available in the driver.
    And I would recommend HBAO over SSAO in every game since the latter just adds shadows to every object, no matter if it makes sense or not. Generally speaking that is, since I dont own FO4.
    And Michael you really need fo calm down. The amount of information you put in each of these tutorials is just epic. Haven't seen something like this in my many years in youtube.

      great to hear.
      Btw I didnt mean to sound rude. It's just that the devs at Bethesda and modders as well put so much time and effort into making these detailed textured, only to have them ruined by some fake AA.

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get you = )
      But if your only choice is FXAA or TAA... using FXAA will leave you with a light show around the edges of objects lol. Its even worse than AA in FO3 (my assumption is because FO3 was more "cartoon like" and FO4's image is more sharp and "realistic" so the contrast between the crawling edges and their objects was lessened.. at least to my eye). I use ENB myself so I always turn it all off = )
      -Michael

    • @ilov3mus1cx3
      @ilov3mus1cx3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      FO3 had MSAA as an option iirc. And MSAA is proper AA. FO4 uses defered rendering, where MSAA isn´t possible because the lighting information isn´t available at the time the geometry (ie your polygons) are getting rendered.
      And ENB just uses SMAA, which is a post processing effect as well, but it´s not nearly as bad as TAA or FXAA.

    • @gamerpoets
      @gamerpoets  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      FO3, now that I think about it, was actually pretty good with it's AA. The issues came from disabling the AA for purposes of using ENB. But.. i couldn't play FO3 without ENB anymore lol. The FO4 FXAA is similar to FO3 without having any AA at all activated.
      Yeah, TAA does blur the hell out of some objects (power lines noticeably.. to me anyways). Would be nice to have had a better option.

I know i'm an outlier, as many people give you endless praise. I did install the mod, and everything works fine. Or at least as "good" as it did before. You may not need anything form them = ) What you need is whatever it is that you are looking for. You're watching a video on Bethini for FO4.
