Thanks, once again, for watching and especially for your comment. I'll be reviewing some black powder percussion pistols in the future, which makes one slow down even more. Sometimes, I need t slow down so that I can keep up with what's happening in the world.

Great video! It reminded me of 80-90's shop class videos we used to watch at tech school

Class presentation! As always. Loved your review of the Trooper MkIII. Just got mine in yesterday but cant to the range till later this week. After watching your review, i was like a kid waiting on X-mas. Lol Thank you for what you do & the time and detail you put into a presentation. Other than a New Service Colt, i cant wait for an SAA. THX AGAIN

Congrats on your Trooper MKIII! I am sure that you are going to enjoy it. It's hard to beat a good wheel gun. I appreciate your comments; they are what keeps this channel going and growing.

Single action revolvers are growing on me especially the stainless models. Gonna have to go check one out soon. Excellent review and history lesson Range Ronin. Can't wait for the next vid!

Thanks for being part of this madness of mine. The "New Model" Blackhawk is a fine SA revolver, but before you decide, check out my review video of the New Vaquero that is coming out soon; August 18th to be exact. I like it better than the Blackhawk.

@@RangeRoninChronicles Nice! I'll wait for the review because I want a good SA so I don't have to purchase one twice. 😆

@@JeepsCafe You will find that one will not satisfy you. Peruse though my videos and you will find several single-action revolver reviews; Uberti 1872 Colt Open Top Revolver, a Uberti Bisley, a Uberti 1858 Remington in both .45 Colt and 9mm. All reproductions obviously, but quality revolvers nonetheless. Uberti makes some of the finest reproductions available and every one most enjoyable to shoot.
I will be reviewing some of my other Uberti revolvers as this channel, hopefully, continues to grow. But don't wait on me, as TH-cam has plenty of reviews of many single-action revolvers. Just go to TH-cam, type single action revolver in the search bar, and you will have a plethora of reviews to watch.
      May your single-action journey begin!😁

Good review, cross bar safety and loading gate unlocking cylinder are nice improvements. New sub, thanks.

Thank you very much for watching, commenting, and especially...subscribing. I wholeheartedly agree that the transfer bar safety and loading gate operation is a great improvement over the standard way of loading, over a Colt SAA or clone; much safer to do. There is some perverse pleasure and satisfaction in doing it the "Cowboy" way, however.😁

Thanks for watching and commenting. You are correct, .45 Colt is today's reference. That wasn't always the case (no pun intended).

Great day at the range , you do shoot better one handed , the gun is designed to be shot with one hand just like Big Mike "The dualist shows" normally you'd be on horse mount shooting with one hand , GUY'S loads were NOT that hot in 1873 . Now cowboy loads are more like what were used then . The gun power itself wasn't as hot , those first rounds were nearly twice as powerful as they were in 1873 . My Great GrandMa was born in 1894

    • @RangeRoninChronicles
      @RangeRoninChronicles  หลายเดือนก่อน

Thanks for watching and for your comment. Actually, in the early days of the .45 Colt, velocities around 1,000 fps was not uncommon. The Army asked Colt to reduce the BP charge, because some of the soldiers could not handle the recoil (sound familiar with the 10mm?). Colt did reduce the charge after a few years, which was a reduction to 28- grains of black powder as compared to the previous 40-grain charge. After the reduction, 855 fps. became the normal standard.
Good "Cowboy" loads these days make for shooting a very mild and pleasurable experience.
I'll be putting the Blackhawk to the test at my outdoor range ringing steel. That really tells if I can shoot or not. "Dualist1954" is far more experienced than I when it comes to black powder revolvers, especially percussion revolvers. I have several Uberti percussion revolver reproductions and hope, at some point, to start a "Black Powder" series on the channel that will include reviews of single shot muzzle loaders (pistol and long gun of percussion and flint-lock varieties) and percussion revolvers. It is taking me quite a bit of time to get to that point, though. Not surprisingly, these firearms take up a substantial amount of time when shooting - especially when trying to video doing such. Hopefully, I will be able to pull it off.
I stay quite busy just doing reviews of modern firearms.
1894, you say? That's 130 years ago, if my math is correct. Like my Grandmother and Great Grandmother, you know that they experienced and saw a lot, especially hard times. They would be totally baffled with what's going on today. But I think that we are as well. Strange times they be.
