Almost all chefs besides most asians put down lobsters like that, but cooking them alive as bad it sounds (which it is) makes you much less likely to get sick (crustaceans decay really really fast so shouldn't kill them 12 or more houre before you cook)

I never used to think that sea creatures needed to be treated that well (with the exception of larger creatures, like whales, sharks, turtles, etc.) but once I met my marine biologist boyfriend I learned just how special all creatures are, big and small.
