- Ten-year-old Lola was sitting in the passenger seat of her parents’ car parked in the driveway when she saw someone she didn’t know approaching the house. At first she assumed it was someone making a delivery or selling something, but when the man walked into her garage, she knew something was wrong. Thinking quickly, Lola screams at him, scaring him off and sending him running away from the house. Her parents said they were proud of their hero daughter. #InsideEdition

That's a pretty smart kid. Come out aggressive to startle and unbalance the perp so he doesn't see her as prey, then scream in distress to alert the whole county. Her first emotion was territorial anger, this is good. Parents seem to be doing a good job. The way she just casually gets in the car, turns it on and puts on the air conditioner. This is the correct attitude to have in life.

She handled it well, but I think it would have been better to stay in the car and start honking, or just open the car window to yell. It was dangerous for her to leave the car and confront a stranger.

It's adrenaline followed by shock. She probably had a huge surge of adrenaline when she screamed at the guy to get out, but once he was gone she screamed and started crying probably due to the fact she was scared and in shock as that's a huge confrontation for a child. It's like arguing with someone. You have this huge adrenaline surge the whole time, but once the confrontation is over you'll most likely break down. It's a fight or flight instinct, but it isn't unusual for people to break down from shock afterwards.

A little girl made a decision in the heat of the moment. Several decent options, but heading toward the safety of her family was a good choice. Also, you never know how blowing a horn can be interpreted. It might be assumed to be an act of impatience. But when you hear your kid screaming for you, you know something is wrong, you drop everything immediately, no second thoughts.

Aliya my sentiments exactly. This put her almost straight into the arms of a possible kidnapper. She's a featherweight and would be easy to carry as he ran.Inside the car she has locks to put between him and her, and a horn to make noise. She is very brave but nothing in that garage was worth getting kidnapped for.
Also the car was still running with keys in it, so he could have thrown her in and been off over the horizon. Scary.
