Its Not when you can Literally throw a Whipple Super-Charger on the V8 which is a Crate Engine (Support for Years on End), Achieve 700hp, apply your own Suspension set up and still be under what a Raptor Costs. Yeah... thats called a Raptor "PRICE" Killer.
Just got this truck last week! Same package and same color, only I got the V8. I like it a lot and enjoy driving it. My dislike is that the engine turns off when you stop at a light
You have to get higher octane for more hp and better fuel economy in the ecoboost engines, it's mentioned in the manual. The current 2.7L is definitely the best built and engineered engine though, I'm a V8 guy but the graphite iron block is insanely tough, it's tougher than the old cast iron blocks.
A lot of it comes down to the tune. I have a Ranger Raptor with the 3.0tt ecoboost that was getting 17ish mpg stock. I did the Ford ProCal tune and gained 2mpg. If they had a dedicated eco tune Im sure that it could improve.
It’s crazy that you can’t get these trims in a 6.5’ bed config. This model in your review was formally known as the “Rattler”, now 201A in the US. Closest spec for 6.5’ would be an XLT, FX4 and add black appearance items after which is more money.
I want to buy a 2024 Ford F-150. It is recommended when buying a naturally aspirated 5.0 V8 engine or buying a 3.5 turbo. Your opinion is important. I need your help. I will follow the channel to find out what’s new. I will buy during this month and I would like a ground gear, but the problem is that there is no ground gear in the Middle East at the moment.
I like that spec truck. Just to clarify your statement about the 3.5 being Canada exclusive, it's available in every trim in the US except the STX. I have no idea how that makes sense to Ford, some of their option/package combo bundling restrictions are mindboggling.
Agree 1000% on the colour. I got an xlt bap in oxford white on friday, i really liked the avalanche grey, bit i just felt that these current "primer" greys are going to sort of go out of style and not be timless like traditional colours.
That literally the reason I didnt buy the Ranger or F150. The seats are absolutely horrible to where is causes pain. Its like you are swallowed in a bucket and your legs are tilted upwards. I now own a Tundra. Seats are not perfect but better than Fords.
If i could get it with power seats, seat memory I would've bought one. The Manual seats suck and cause me discomfort and pain. So no go. Leg room is 10 outa 10 though. V8 engine, awesome. Dual exhaust with some aggression in engine report, even better. Makes me wanna drive it and not care of fuel cost. Screen size, center console, Awesome everything I want and electronic transmission with old school but modern hand crank on column. Superb. But Due to discomfort on seats. I cant. Its the same seat design from my 2008 F150 STX and it sucked then and sucks now. No reason for that. Want power seats? You need to upgrade the entire trim level. plus 10K min more. No. The seat is angled up and overtime. Hurts your legs. And no adjustment.
IMO...true cost should have nothing to do with resale. i have always kept all my vehicles or passed them down to family or friends. so TO ME, true cost is the true cost to purchase and maintain, not re-sell.
LOL...watching that dude bounce around in the cab just going down the road...Raptor killer? There is pretty much nothing on that truck to really be similar to the raptor
Ive owned two gen 3 raptors and now a 2024 f150 stx with 5.0 and 3.73s.....its definitely not im raptor territory but its a good truck for the money. I call it my shitbox lol cuz it doesnt compare to my raptors
Great review 👍 The truck itself is not perfect, the Ecoboost engines are disastrous combination when these truck ages. Ford should have placed that Coyote 5.0 engine in this price range. The Canadian buyers are getting the short end of the stick with those Ecoboost engine. With extreme climates in Canada, Ford should have placed the Coyote so it will more reliable.
@@jasonbrushett2005come to our shop, we will show you how many garbage Ecoboost are on our hoist for engine rebuild. Absolute garbage. Just walk into any independent auto shop and they will tell you the truth. Unless it is a corrupt auto shop then they will suggest to buy them so it will pay their mortgage.
Throwing around 'Raptor Killer' is a bit silly.
I don’t disagree and I enjoyed this one off road, but it seems to have had the intended outcome.

I mean the v8 with minor mods kinda is
I concur. Best bang for the buck
It’s almost mandatory to include “raptor” in the title of every truck review regardless of the make, model or category.
Just got this truck last week! Same package and same color, only I got the V8. I like it a lot and enjoy driving it. My dislike is that the engine turns off when you stop at a light
You can turn that off you know. Granted you have to turn it off every time you start the truck but you can disable it
I would get the Coyote V8 100% and to bad about the heated seats for the money ! Love the column shifter it’s old school 👍🏻 not a fan of tec
Eco boost isn’t as fuel efficient as they may say, it’s a smaller engine hence works harder, I’d opt for the V8 in some cases gets better mileage…

Both the 5.0 and 2.7 are less desirable now that Ford put wet belt driven oil pumps. The 3.5 is now the stand out.

Waiting on my XLT I got the V8 Atlas blue
This is the best review of the s. T x I have found good job
Glad you liked it!
That model is the exact same spec as last year's Rattler package all the way down to the dark interior and tan plastic pieces.
Yeah, good eye, I didn’t even notice that.
thank you for mentioning the curb weight, very rare in car reviews for some reason
No problem!
May 22 302 with 5.0 and honestly nicely optioned (sport) was 64$ cad ,crazy how that seems cheap in comparison to today
Yeah, those were the days!

There's so much going on with packaging, I bet F150 product planners on both sides of the border are busier than one-armed wallpaper hangers!

Congrats on your new truck! This colour is waaaaaay too fashionable.
@@BrianMakse Not in my book. I deliberately chose that color and love it.
Nicely done video n review
Glad you liked it!
Another great review Brian, wow. What drone do you use for these shots?
Thanks! A couple of different DJIs…and the mishaps have been hilarious!
You are incorrect in saying 3.5 ecoboost is exclusive to Canada. 3.5 ecoboost is and has been available in the US from day 1.
You are incorrect by ignoring context.
I got a Raptor if I didn't want a regular bed but I love the way raptor looks and that ain't no raptor killer lol.
It does 100% of what 99% of people do with their Raptors.
Does this have active shocks, 5 link suspension, reinforced frame, and HO engine?
What tires exactly were on the truck?
The front seats have no height or tilt adjustment... it drives me nuts.
That literally the reason I didnt buy the Ranger or F150. The seats are absolutely horrible to where is causes pain. Its like you are swallowed in a bucket and your legs are tilted upwards. I now own a Tundra. Seats are not perfect but better than Fords.
@@Petetony It seems like the seats are made for someone thats 300 pounds and 6'3"
An Xl with a rear locker and leveling kit is is a Raptor killer on a budget.
Wish this was the 5.0 I feel like that's the real Raptor killer (TRUE V8) and then supercharged it just Raps The RAPTOR.
AND this is why you BUY A TREMOR. Which is faster in the quarter mile than a Rapter if both have the 3.5l
Thank Christ I got. 2021 stx at 65 with tax during Covid and she has 63k miles on it
It is a nice truck
I enjoyed all of my wheel time with it.
@ I want one or at least xlt

70+ is insanely expensive, but that's what trucks cost now.
70 is a relative bargain now!
@BrianMakse which is insanity. I'll drive my frontier until my feet fall through the floor hahah.
I don’t like the way the bumper color change when you add the fx4 package makes it look like a fleet truck
The purchase price may be significantly less than a raptor but the true cost of ownership will be similar as raptors hold their value better.
IMO...true cost should have nothing to do with resale.
i have always kept all my vehicles or passed them down to family or friends.
so TO ME, true cost is the true cost to purchase and maintain, not re-sell.
Until you gotta do phasers and other repairs on the raptor when this with a 5.0 will live forever
11.5 L/100km
Nice!
1373 Considine Mount
So tired of hearing “Raptor Killer.” Ridiculous if you understand what an F-150 Raptor is… OEM, warrantied trophy truck. 15” suspension travel, etc.
🤓ok 😂
15 mpg??? That is horrible!
I never drive efficiently.
LOL...watching that dude bounce around in the cab just going down the road...Raptor killer? There is pretty much nothing on that truck to really be similar to the raptor

The five litre V8 is also available here, but it’s funny that Canada gets this EcoBoost and the US doesn’t.
The 2.7 is actually an amazing engine, I just traded my 2015 in with 280000 problem free kms. That being said, this time I did go with the 5.0.
@@BrianMaksewe do get that motor in the us
