Why anyone would want a Hemi nowadays when they seem to just blow up within 10k miles of leaving the factory. The fact is, gasoline engines are just getting more and more unreliable not simply because of technology, but also top engineers coming out of school no longer want to work in ICE ..they look towards the future and EV technology where they know job security will be much better. The 2nd and 3rd tier engineers now working on modern gasoline engines just engineer them to blow up soon after manufacturing them.

Meanwhile this re-seller doesn’t have any of the overhead costs of rent, utilities, labor, etc. that the dealer does. You are absolutely right on the fact that marketing (business strategy and direction) is mostly a baren wasteland at many automakers now. Only Toyota, Mazda, and Subaru seem to know what people want.
Hi, I agree with hoovy. About bringing back the jeep the way he said the neon make it small simple fun, lightweight no extra crap and Dawn that goes to the cheap also
We all want the neon back. That was the last great car dodge produced in conjunction with Mitsubishi and Mercedes. It was simply the fastest of its category and best handling as well. Oh and it gets 45 miles to the gallon highway, we don’t need hybrids
Tyler, you should have sold your whole collection for Sammy's La Ferrari! You could have flown on his plane with April! He had two extra seats!!!! Arghhh, but super fun to watch you two over there workin in.
Totally agree with Hoovie's idea for Jeep. And I agree with April about Maserati. I honestly think that with the right leadership, it could grow to be the ultimate Italian brand. And I just the way the name rolls of the tongue. 😊
Maserati needs an engine swap, drop in that works. Doesn't need to be stupid, exceptionally powerful but something that fits and is RELIABLE! That heavy foot thing is no compensation when you are sitting at the side of the road for the tenth time in a year wondering if you need to take out another mortgage to get it on the road again.
i am just happy that they sell alfa romeos in america again now. but of course they have'nt been able to sell a lot here. but thats good because i want to get a used one lol.
Bring back the CJ as the simplest, most basic and cheapest vehicle that you can build under current safety and pollution laws and you'd sell 10s of 1000s of the things. Combine that with an XJ and a sensibly sized Dakota work/farm truck and you'd have a winning set of platforms from which to rebuild. Make Jeep Great Again!
Bring back the Avenger name as a smaller CUV hybrid AWD crossover and the Dart for a small hybrid sedan, the Neon had a stigma towards the end. I 100% agree on Tyler’s idea for the Cherokee. Basic boxy, 4x4 SUV with and infotainment screen and with keyless entry and power windows and locks, which the base Wrangler doesn’t currently have. Hard to believe but true.
I didn't hear him mention it, but the wrangler should be a mid 20s base price. Just like they used to be with a ton of options available, but a solid small motor and manual transmission, I'd bet you couldn't build enough of them.
I like hearing that the Dodge Dakota competitor to the Ford Maverick. The Dodge Neon would be perfect as an Hybrid / EV. GM should do the same with the Saturn Ion as an Hybrid / EV. Hybrids are the true future as long as the batteries are housing under the second row seats as easily removable once depleted or needing to be upgraded.
The hornet is not junky. I have one it’s damn fun to drive, excellent power and handling. It has all the bell the bells and whistles. We test drove the Toyota and the Honda SUV. Talk about a cure for insomnia. The Corolla cross is not in the same league you would have to step up to the rav4 hybrid to come close to the hornets performance…. Now Mazda is good but the infotainment is soooo dated. The problem is people who have never owned this vehicle keep saying it’s junky. How would they know long term real ownership? They don’t! Go drive a crv, then drive a rav4 then drive the hornet gt plus with track pack. Now if you have kids this suv is not ideal. The rest of stellantis is miss managed. What a shame.
WE DON'T NEED ALL THE STUPID BELLS AND WHISTLES all that is is more problems to go wrong. One day you will learn that less is more. There just catering to a useless society that thinks( wow i got a loaded vehicle) who cares its all crap. All you need is air and cruise and a decent stereo.......
@@bigblockdodge745 think you missed the point. The hornet is a great handling powerful fun to drive vehicle. Having all the bells and whistles is a bonus. We have had no issues with this vehicle. Again if you owned one you would know. If you don’t your opinion is irrelevant. Great stereo and cruise control are bells and whistles…..lol
The Dodge Dart was to be the new Neon, however it never had the sales numbers only being manufactured from 2012-2016. The Neon had a 10 year production from 1995-2005. Of course the 2012 Dart was manufactured and discontinued under FCA before Stellantis brought them. A car like the Neon probably can never be made again as cheaply as they were, mostly for all the mandatory safety features and regs they need to meet now. Look how big A pillars are now for rollover protection, they could make them thinner with stronger steel, but they don't, probably because of costs and simplified manufacturing. I do like Hoovie's idea of a more basic model with a nice big Apple Car play/Android Auto screen, keep the ventilation controls buttons and basic. I don't need zones or auto temp. and I don't want to pay monthly fees for features in your infotainment system or things like heated seats that are subscription. I only want to pay for it once and be done with it. But give me the touch screen for my phone. My phone is more sophisticated than anything you can make, and it get's upgraded every few years.
When I needed a car early this year I bought a 2013 Caddy CTS4 Performance Coupe. It's a one owner car, very well kept and at $9500 I can fix a lot of stuff before I hit $50K of a new car. Other than Toyota and maybe Honda, the rest is junk. I agree with you plans for Chrysler future and will chip in $20 to start us off......... Thx
I like your thinking. What would you do with the Wrangler? It is the flagship of JEEP and deserves some attention to retake it's niche dominance from Bronco, 4 Runner, and Defender
I think it would absolutely make sense for VAG to buy it - after all they are looking for quite some time to strenghen their cache in the SUV segment, even reviving the scout brand for the american market. If you ask any foreigner to name an iconic american car brand, one would hear the name jeep very quickly.
Chrysler 200 remodel is still a great looking car... But engine issues killed it. I have a 200 , got it at 30k and now 100k miles and runs great. Still impressed by it. At the time the 300 looked to fancy and big
Check out Uncle Tony's Garage, he has a bone stock boxy cherokee that he did a few tweaks on a stock 4.0 6 cyl and the thing rips the 1/4 mile sub 15 sec. Good performance from existing proven Tech. Forget the 3d gen Hemi, it's jiunk
The Hornet starts under 30 grand, but most that are available on lots are over 40k. Hell, you can option a Hornet up to 50k, which is insane. If I were running stelantis US brands, I would take all the expensive models and rebadge them Chrysler's and change the front and rear designs and make them an alternative to a Cadillac or Lincoln. Then the cheapest models would be Plymouths. Dodge would be only sporty vehicles and Jeep only off-road type vehicles. No more Jeep badged cars, and no more leather lined interiors. Brand separation with prices that are reflective of what middle-class will and can pay.
Why don't they make a new neon based on the 208 / corsa platform? If they wanted something bigger for it then what about the astra platform? Surely it'd work out a lot better than sticking badges on an alfa which won't sell well by itself
@@alchavezjr410killing his image? They have good chemistry I don’t see what part of his image is hindered by April. The fact you call her “the blonde” and “eye candy” and not her actual name says a lot about you. Sick creep.

100% right... Make the Durango its own brand within Dodge by offering different series and powertrain platforms. Apply the same logic with the Neon. Dodge is so far behind on this front. Jeep needs to simply go back to its roots.
Give me a Grand Cherokee L that has even 70% of the reliability of a Toyota or Honda and I WOULD BUY IT. I’m in a rental Durango right now while the shop fixes my Accord after a fender bender and I keep thinking “I like the way this looks. I like the way it drives. My whole family fits. NO WAY would I ever buy one.” I’ve owned multiple Dodge & Chrysler products and my brother is a hardcore Jeep guy, but a few years ago we switched to Honda products because they’re well-engineered, go over 250k miles with mostly basic maintenance, and hold their value. I don’t buy daily drivers to look cool - I need something that just works. To your point though, you ideas for Jeep are good! My brother’s first car was a 1992 XJ Cherokee - fantastic vehicle that anybody could fix with basic tools. He & I both still miss that car. I think there’s still a place for a well-made Wagoneer with more heritage in the design and a lower price tag. Jeep is Jeep; they need to stop trying to make it Range Rover. They diluted the Dodge brand by separating trucks into Ram. Fold Ram back into Dodge, make a “Cheap & Cheerful” Neon and Neon All-Road CUV, bring back Dakota as you say, make Durango truly midsize again, and maybe do an “Adventurer” or “Prospector” that’s a basic Suburban fighter. For Chrysler (which they’ve let wither) they should have taken a page from Lincoln and go all-in on “American Luxury”. I know few are buying sedans anymore but somehow Lincoln is making money selling nicely luxurious crossovers that don’t look like anything else but are still basically Fords underneath. And they aren’t charging BMW & Mercedes prices. With all of Chrysler’s history they surely could do the same. Alfa should have become their premium BMW and Maserati an Italian Bentley but instead they basically had the two compete, and reliability is clearly not what the Italians do.
So very few people are willing to buy a Wrangler for $80,000. In 2019 I got my over-equipped Sport S that was sitting on the lot for 38K. Now the same Jeep is like 50K.
It's been extremely clear since Stellantis came to exist that the top brass doesn't understand the American market or the American consumer. If there is anyone left at Dodge/RAM/Jeep/Chrysler that still does, they aren't being listened to. FCA kind of understood us for a while and then seemed to lose their grip. I don't know if that's because former Chrysler executives retired/left or for some other reason. Income inequality continues to grow. You can't have a society where half a dozen people have half the wealth and expect the other half to have enough disposable income to afford these cars.

@@stevenreynolds2327 Oh grow the fuck up. Let people enjoy!!!
@@stevenreynolds2327 Oh grow the fuck up!!!🥵
The Dakota you mentioned already exists in Brazil, it's called Rampage. It even has an RT version.
You are absolutely right on the fact that marketing (business strategy and direction) is mostly a baren wasteland at many automakers now. Only Toyota, Mazda, and Subaru seem to know what people want.
Hi, I agree with hoovy. About bringing back the jeep the way he said the neon make it small simple fun, lightweight no extra crap and Dawn that goes to the cheap also
Hoovie you need to wear a scoop top like April. You would get more viewers 😊. It would be great to have a decent new basic truck for 15 grand
Produce the Neon again in Belvidere Illinois!!! The plant is just sitting idle. They’ve been using it as a Ram and Jeep parking lot for YEARS
I agree. Bring back the neon. I owned 2 '99 Neons and an '01 Neon back in the day.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but…..Every car brand doesn’t need to be a Luxury brand!!!!
We all want the neon back. That was the last great car dodge produced in conjunction with Mitsubishi and Mercedes. It was simply the fastest of its category and best handling as well. Oh and it gets 45 miles to the gallon highway, we don’t need hybrids
This
Great car but no profit in it so they killed it.
Like what your spitting, but they didn't make a ton of money on those🤔
But they made SOME money on them. As opposed to NO money on what they’re making now. 😊
I will make an offer to purchase Maserati.
Tyler, you should have sold your whole collection for Sammy's La Ferrari! You could have flown on his plane with April! He had two extra seats!!!! Arghhh, but super fun to watch you two over there workin in.
The beige is just terrible though...
I loved my neon it was like a go cart
You could get a 2 door 2 wheel drive Jeep Cherokee XJ stick shift fairly cheap. A lot of people bought those.
Jeep, please listen to this! Being Hoovie in as a consultant. Pay him in hoopties.
Funnily enough - I've just bought a small Hybrid SUV called a Jeep Avenger - it's just not currently available for the US market.
"We have a 300 day supply of these Hornets, but we plan to sell them all in 2 months and 1 week by cutting off the supply". Uhhh. OK?
April, it would be great to hear more of your thoughts and opinions in these videos. Thanks for the YT content and keep up the great work.
Back in like 2005 I work for a Dodge dealership. We took a wreck PT Cruiser 4 Cylinder Turbo all-wheel drive Running gear and put it under a neon.
If I were Tesla, I would buy Lancia. Then bring back the Stratos, 037, Fulvia, Delta Integrale… all in electric form.
Renault could do it as they are launching the 4, 5 and twingo
I didn't hear him mention it, but the wrangler should be a mid 20s base price. Just like they used to be with a ton of options available, but a solid small motor and manual transmission, I'd bet you couldn't build enough of them.
I don't want to be the creepy old guy, but you are making things difficult. Great show guys.
Cope harder man. Your vehicle is a piece of junk and everyone but you admits it.
And what is the point of an SUV that isn't roomy?
Straight 6 engine, non turbo, port injected, MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
Yes; bring back the Neon as a budget Civic/Corolla competitor! Even a budget version of the Hornet.
My Grand Cherokee Summit 4Xe cost more than my first townhouse.
Then again I was cross shopping the Velar and Range Rover Sport so I saved money.
It's crazy what mismanagement of these brands have done
I think the same 4 Rubicon Gladiators have been out front of my local Jeep dealer since last year, I don't know who those things are even for.
I would love a grand Cherokee but the new 24 is 15k more than my exact same 18 msrp and the reliability is trash
Chrysler 200 remodel is still a great looking car... But engine issues killed it. I have a 200 , got it at 30k and now 100k miles and runs great. Still impressed by it. At the time the 300 looked to fancy and big
2:40 Ram has been its own brand since 2009….
Our local jeep/ram/Fiat dealer is overstuffed with unsold vehicles. 😮
Tyler you have the land for a dealership. also the prettiest sales person. What could go wrong. 🙀
Stellantis getting rid of the v8 is why they loosing money
Hemi Jeeps were never their best seller.
Hoovie dropping some knowledge.
such as?
Jeep Recon is the XJ Cherokee replacement you’re talking about… at least as an EV. Would love a gas option though
totally agree with bringing back the Neon
The auto industry got greedy with covid prices. Hope we the tax payers dont have to bail them out AGAIN !!!!
It would be cool if Dodge brought back the Caliber as fun cheap crossover with the 3.6L V6(still a reliable engine)
Why don't they make a new neon based on the 208 / corsa platform? If they wanted something bigger for it then what about the astra platform? Surely it'd work out a lot better than sticking badges on an alfa which won't sell well by itself
Hoovie has been spending too much time in April’s garage 😅 looks like he is enjoying it 😅
I like the serious Hoovie.
the blonde is killing his image!! eye candy for car shows not here IMO
@@alchavezjr410killing his image? They have good chemistry I don’t see what part of his image is hindered by April. The fact you call her “the blonde” and “eye candy” and not her actual name says a lot about you. Sick creep.
That's a tough one to beat... the Maverick. But it'd be nice to see Chrysler etc back as an American company. VIVA AMC!!!
Bring back the Dakota as a Ranger competitor. But bring back the D50 or Rampage (already available in the South American market) as the Maverick competitor.
Twitter will always be Twitter, and Dodge RAM will always be a Dodge RAM. 😂
You can get a Base model Ford Maverick for $25,000, a little more or less.
not bad
Watching because she is there
So very few people are willing to buy a Wrangler for $80,000. In 2019 I got my over-equipped Sport S that was sitting on the lot for 38K. Now the same Jeep is like 50K.
Yes !! A real Cherokee ❤
Yes Buy Jeep! Goodmorning y'all
It's been extremely clear since Stellantis came to exist that the top brass doesn't understand the American market or the American consumer.
The AT-AT on the shelf is no longer cocking its hind leg. It must be greatly relieved. 😊
Fuel isn’t going away. Synthetic fuels are the answer and don’t need any ice car to be modified to take it.
Synthetic fuels? The NAZIs {EEKK!} invented the tech. So all Left wing nutjobs could never use it,' cause' Trump is Hitler!! Otherwise, I suspect there as some BIG problems with the product
Bring back the hemi!!! Bring back the old Hemi commercials!!! Is that a HEMI???
Your Barrett Jackson was great, i know Hoovie is proud of you...but do more interviews!!
Yes ' I call it Dodge Ram , I also call Pluto a planet
