You are an inspiration. My line just broke the same way in a different spot, and now the system is spewing washer fluid out over my left shoulder when I try to wash windows. I love to see a woman of my age just going for it - gives me hope I can manage this one myself, too!!
Thank you. Very well produced and edited with extremely clear views of what you were doing and how you were doing it. With dealer labor rates above $140.00 per hour here in Connecticut, I found it much more cost effective to buy all new parts and completely replace the washer system in my 2014 Honda CR/V (about 11 years old now). Bravo for an extremely useful video with no wasted time.
I ordered the parts today (not the pump, that's working ) and I'll be picking them up tomorrow ----- I'll be watching your video again😊. Thank you for breaking this down so well. I don't know if you'll ever see this comment, but I appreciate your efforts 🎉
I loved your video and love that you and your daughter are doing car repairs. I had to do this today. I had my daughter help me - she made sure the hood didn't drop on my head, and she tested the sprayers for me while i checked for leaks. As for my first attempt: what a pain!- I couldn't get that switch thing to release. So i gave up and just pulled the pump thing out of the tank, water flooded out but mostly missed me lol. Then i saw goo on the screen. I decided to just wipe off the screen until it looked clean and then shove it back into its holder. Tested the washers and they all three worked great! Maybe too strong of a jet lol. I adusted the direction of the sprayers and its good enough for me! When you were under the car and said "this would be easier if the car was raised" I laughed because that's how I looked and that's exactly what I thought. Thank you!
@@katieyarbrough4658, me 3 on breaking that spray nozzle. I'm trying to keep my Dad's old 1995 Dodge Dakota pickup truck going because it's great to haul my kayak to the lake in. Any video taping at this place would be painful to watch, but, I've saved a lot of money.
You are very helpful and also very funny, I liked that! I suscribed to your channel just now. I'm working in the same problem: the hose line in my Chevrolet Equinox seems to be broken. The real problem is that is very hard to get access to the hose, but after seeing your video I'm hopeful I too can do it and I'll be working on that. Kuddos from México!!! ;)
Hello, there's a 1/8×1/8 connector piece that works, also small diameter rubber hose.Instead of dismantling the entire line. With the small rubber hose make sure you connect the more difficult broken piece first,in my case it was the line coming up where it broke. The line coming down was more easier to slide on. Moistened ends will slide on more quick.
You made my day! Not only did I laugh 😂 at your comments (can so relate!) but have some insights into my washer fluid issue. Think it’s the pump/motor…sigh…Appreciate your video 👍
Good job! Thank you for showing me what is involved. My hose broke and one dealer quoted me $600 to replace the hose. Just the hose, not the pump. Edited after I got it back from the shop: Rats (or ground squirrels) and built a nest in my car between the engine compartment liner and the fenders and chewed up the hose while they were at it. They didn't say if I had been toting around and cooking babies in the nest when I was driving. Their fee? $75.00.
Yes I paid $300 five years or so ago because the mechanic told me my washer fluid had congealed (don't know if that's true or not) and they'd had to replace the tubing front and back. (He said never put the green bug washer stuff in undiluted.). Anyway, I did not want to pay that much without trying whatever simple fixes I could first. So today I did it and it was a pain crawling under the car but it was a simple thing to clean the muck off the screen and put clean plain water in.
I've seen on other videos you can disconnect the washer nozzles from the tubes and then shoot air or wd-40 (I guess if you don't have air compressor) into the washer nozzle holes so it blows out any gunk trapped in the hoses.
I ordered the same kit on Amazon it came with the hose and nozzles and plastic adapters nozzles were easy to replace the only problem I have the fluid doesn’t come out properly so I think there’s pieces of plastic still stuck somewhere inside the hose and I need to somehow separate the hose so I can properly fit the plastic adapters it came with which I am having a problem with separating them. How did you separate yours mine seem to be really stuck together? 🤔
@@ChickFixUSA, I wish you were my neighbor--we could be a pain in the butt to the HOA together!!! They changed our rules to once you start a vehicle repair it must be finished in 24 hrs. I'm debating on whether or not to try to change the windshield wiper bushings for the 2nd time in 5 yrs. Also, need to replace the fluid tubing and a broken spray nozzle. I think I'll go for it :)
You are a awesome person, thank you for your video, we also have the same belt , I didn't think anyone would have this belt because I got mine at Renegades biker clothing.
OMG! Do I have to crawl under my car to fix this? I want to cry as I am dealing with a messed up broken wrist and cataracts! But at least I know what to do now on my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan which has been without washer fluid spray for a couple months now. Just pulled the wheel well panel thinking the pump was hiding there from one TH-cam video but now see it was for a 2006 model and the repair book i just purchased for $27 at Auto Zone just tells you where to put washer fluid in! That's it. No mention of fuses or pump locations, nothing! Like Duh! So annoyed right now! But thank you for at least showing me it can be done. Hope I can get up once I'm done! LOL!
I 2nd that 💯. Gotta love a woman with dirty fingernails and a sense of humor! I just replaced the pulse board for the wiper motor on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer and I broke off the fluid sprayer line connector on the underside of the cowl on the passenger side just like you did - Ugh!

Amen me too 😂🤭🥰🙌🏽 I will not hesitate to try to fix anything on my vehicle's as a woman I research everything

I love it. Got my blazer paid off so I feel the same way. Keep her running
Just successfully changed mine today! Total cost$15. Thanks so much for your video!

Absolutely bought my pump and ready to install, thanks
Well, you just answered my question to a quick fix. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
Thanks for the video. I have to replace mine this coming weekend - before winter hits. A chipmonk bit through my hose!
Thank you! I couldn’t see on many other videos because their hands were in the way.
Omg you’re my new favorite person 🤣 I broke the nozzle piece too!
I did too! Glad I'm not the only one.

The video I was looking for I just bought one off Amazon and will be changing my this weekend.

Also how big is the tube? 1/8in?
Also why did you choose a whole new tube instead of just buying a connector?

Its long overdue but you could've cut a piece of the rubber tubing to make a coupling for the tee going into the spray nozzles.

I went to link and pump was not recommended for my 2012 by Amazon?? But the hose and nozzles was.
The fact this girl knows this much about this stuff 😭
Shocking, I know...
Why wouldn't us women know how to maintain our vehicle? We have places to go and youtube 😂 saves money

Thank you, you saved me from having a break down.
You may want to consider changing wire out for zip tie. The wire will rub a hole in the plastic.
I agree. This was the "quick fix" so that I could get it in driveable condition, will change them for sure!
VERY entertaining....and informative! Nice job.
Thanks for this, mine pumps but the hose is cut where the hose runs between the hood lift and body, spraying fluid through the engine 😂💯
“ It’s important to put things in the right hole” How true😅
Well, she cusses like a mechanic. I trust her 😊
Mine’s a 2013. Will your directions apply?
