    Jus' spoke with you over the cell, and couldn't believe that you answered IMMEDIATELY! WOW! Anyways, you provided me with great advice, and I'm pleased to have suggested to you, that you upload video(s) of MOTOR COACH battery applications. I purchased a 2019 THOR®️ MOTOR COACH QUANTUM®️ RS26 last October, that sits on a FORD E350 SUPER DUTY chassis, and I was just about to swap out the MOTORCRAFT®️ battery under the hood for an ODYSSEY®️, however, after speaking with you, and accepting your advice, it appears that I'm going to have to do a little research first.
    Thanx again for your timely advice....I cannot thank you enough! GIOVANNI SOVEREIGNE - TRUCKEE, CA.

    💥💥 Thanks for the great vid and all of this info BUT… Optima used to be an amazing battery until they outsourced them to be made in Mexico. They are real junk now. I had a red top in my “03 Escalade that I bought in ‘05 and still own. Pep Boys replaced one after another for free under warranty when they kept dying. Eventually they refused to give me a new one so I went to Advance Auto and bought a standard wet cell battery. Almost 2 years trouble free… FINALLY… I also have a red top in my 1970 Camaro RS with a big block that has given me nothing but trouble holding a charge for the past few years and I’m about to make the switch to something else over this upcoming winter. I need to move past the frustration of owning these Optima batteries. The cool factor has completely worn off because of the headaches that they’ve given me over the past 4-6 years. 👊🏼🚨

      Try to get a new one under warranty at another store if possible. If you can't, then you can find a few videos on TH-cam about how to trick the battery into charging by connecting it in conjunction with another battery till it charges over 10-11 volt range. Depending on the group size required for your vehicle get a XS power D series for under the hood and a xs power Xp series for your supplemental. Supplemental would be the battery you hook up in back. So d series for starting, and xp series for supplemental. Also upgrade your alternator trust me. Adding one battery even will strain your alternator. Also make sure to charge your batteries to keep them at a higher resting voltage other wise when you start your vehicle your alternator is pushing out 100+ amps for minutes when it t should only be producing 15amps to 35 amps depending on factory needs.

    • @user-cy6gf2pj7y
      @user-cy6gf2pj7y 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The car/truck alternator will safely keep the battery charged as long as it doesn't drop below 10 volts. Once it gets below that threshold, it's best to use a special charger...IF it gets below 8 volts, it MUST be charged by a charger that is designed to charged AGM batteries. 1:10 'keep in mind AGM is not gel'... uh, name me an AGM that doesn't use a gel suspended electrolyte... I don't think they exist. AGM is jel... so you're technically flat out wrong... what you mean to say, is; AGM gel batteries shouldn't be charged in the same way as a non-AGM gel batteries.

    • @binaryglitch64
      @binaryglitch64 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I get that colloquially we refer to non-AGM gel batteries as just 'gel batteries'... and AGM gel batteries as just 'AGM batteries... I'm trying to change the way we talk about batteries in a way that helps people who are not battery nerds to better understand batteries. But yes I get that I'm being a bit pedantic here and splitting hairs... it's important that people know that AGM is still gel and 'spill proof' (can be used on it's side or in funky orientations) and that so called gel batteries while being more sensitive to charging amps and harsh working conditions and cost more but they're often litterally the same thing without the layers of fiberglass scouring sponge... yep you pay more for an inferior product that takes less building materials and is cheaper to produce when buying a non-AGM batterie than when you buy an AGM battery... for most applications. In the few situations where a non AGM gel is the better option you will be informed when doing your research so for the most part one should know that they'd be better off buying an AGM battery... like details matter with batteries. That's really all I'm getting at.

    I was immediately thrown off when this guy said “an alternator isn’t a battery charger it’s a battery maintainer” which is absolutely wrong. If an alternator didnt charge your battery why don’t car dealerships sell them with vehicles? Why don’t auto manufacturers suggest having them? Because he’s wrong. NOW. If you don’t daily a vehicle ESPECIALLY a diesel engine, yes you can expect a dead battery within a few weeks depending on the health of the battery.
    Couldn’t figure out where he was going with his completely false information until he said they literally sell everything in the video.
    Be careful dood, you can get sued for consumer fraud making those statements, tricking people into buying your waaaayyy over priced junk.
