My dog is having a chronic UTI for months now. My vet said her pee is too alkaline (8). She's been given DL-Methionine (urine acidifier) for I think 1.5months by now and her pee remained at 8. No change whatsoever. So her UTI keeps coming back. She has been taking a course of antibiotic every month... for 4mths now. And my vet suggested to try Hillls uti science diet kibbles. But I'd hate to give her kibbles (I cook fresh food for her). I watched 2 of Dr Jones' videos about dog's UTI. And I also read that cranberries abstract with D-Mannose is good. So I bought that. I gave her 1/2 teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar twice a day, and the cranberries abstract. I gave her green tea with honey but she's not a fan. I only add a little in her meals. My dog has just been diagnosed with urine infection and prescribed 7 days antibiotics. Can I give her this recipe along side the antibiotics? She is 11. Thank you in advance 🙏🏻🐾
@ Rimita Rima Yes, if that's what you have, then you can use it! But local raw honey is usually available even in your grocery stores, you just have to read the label(s). It will tell you where the honey was harvested. It doesn't have to be in your exact area, just in your state or state wide area... but not too far away if you're trying to stay local. I buy mine at my local health/herb food, but have actually bought our "local raw honey" in the grocery store in a pinch when I needed it because my health food store is closed on the weekends. Not the same apiary, but still considered local raw honey because it's harvested in my own state. That's all you need. In your own state. If you can actually get local, great! I can. The one in the grocery store is harvested in another part of our state, but still considered local honey because it is regional to our state. The label will tell you everything you need to know. ❤😉
@Rimita Rima And depending upon where you live, your honey may be a different color and not particularly very dark, but still raw and local. Or local honey varies in color from dark golden to darker golden. Some are actually much lighter because of what the bees harvest the nectar from... Every regional honey is not going to be the same color.
You are awesome Thanks for informing us I just soaked kibble in water and added wet food to her diet That's all I did Big improvement I wouldn't suggest honey though it's pure sugar and even humans in my opinion should not consume honey But decaffeinated organic green tea I would try that Everyone has to pick and choose but your info is awesome thanks again
Hello Dr. Jones, as always thank you for caring and sharing. Dr. Jones, I'm freaking out because my dig just got diagnosed with too much protein in his liver. The vet said he needs an ultrasound but the vets going on vacation for the month of August . He has nothing available for this month. This vet works at the Humane Society, reasonable prices. I've called other places but price is betw $600 & $900 ! Is there anything I can do to take care of my lil Yorkie, Gizmo, until I can get the ultrasound in August? He does have two rotten molars which I'm assuming are infected but he can't get anesthesia. I've been giving him 2 drops of Oregano oil in his food since it's a strong antibiotic. Please share with me what you think is best for my baby, much appreciated!!!
Thank you for all of your amazing videos!! What type of honey do you use? And what type of green tea? Caffeine or caffeine free? 🤔 I'm guessing caffeine free?
My boy was just recently treated for these three infections: Enterococcus, Pseudomonas, enterobacter. 2 different antibiotics hoping that he no longer has them. Will this concoction help?
@ Jazzie Marsh Have you tried going to your local health food/herb store? That's where I buy mine. The label will clearly state where the honey is either harvested from or bottled at and/or both kinds of information should be on the label. It will also state whether or not its raw or pasteurized. I've even found Texas honey in the grocery stores, though it may not be directly in my immediate area, it's still considered local, because it's from my state. You should have no problem finding "local raw honey" with this information. I hope this helps!❤
@Jazzie Marsh The color of your local honey will vary depending upon what the bees harvested from. Different nectars/flowers produce different colors of honey and different harvests can produce different color of honey. I've noticed Dr. Andrew's honey is actually a very light colored one, though it is HIS local raw honey, it's still local raw honey he gets from his local coop(health food store), I believe. It all depends on the bee keeper and his apiary and location where the(nectar)honey is gathered. It really shouldn't be hard to find, but in case you just can't, any honey will do as long as it's not been adulterated by adding ingredients. 😉❤
Hi Dr Jones, as mentioned in my previous comment, my dog's urine is too alkaline. I gave her apple cider vinegar and cranberries abstract with D-Mannose and her urine acidity went down which was terrific! I then tried to lessen ACV and gave her the cranberries supplement on alternate days and her urine became alkaline again. So I'm going back to daily ACV and cranberry supplement. Would you mind letting me know if this is ok to take for long term? or I should stop this and give her ACV and cranberry supplement when the problem arises again? Will daily ACV for long term cause any harm? Thanks!!!

I wonder if D-Mannose would work for dogs as well as it does for humans? Works better than antibiotics for humans as per studies. I always have some on hand and at the first sign, I used it for 2 days and it's gone. Rarely ever get UTI but when it's near I avoid it with D-mannose.
@@pomcrzymimi It depends on the situation, if I feel like something is wrong and I need to pee more frequently I will take 1full tsp in the morning with water and at night before bed. Usually, it will go away overnight. If not I then do it 3 times a day. If you wait too long and you really have all the symptoms then it's suggested to take it every 2 hours till better than 4 times a day, and then twice till fully recovered. @@VeterinarySecretsi Dr Andrew - just a few questions regarding this recipe:
1) Do we use regular Green Tea or decaffeinated Green Tea?
2) How long do you let the Green Tea steep?
3) Do you recommend Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother or plain?
Thank you Dr Andrew.
I took cilantro and dried it and pressed it in the double zero capsules and gave my dog, 2 a day for about a week and she was much less stinky and wasn't licking her butt profusely. I know it works amazing for kidney infections and UTIs in people as I'm very prone to them and it saved my life. Works better than any antibiotic. But I've never heard of this one very interesting:) cilantro specifically has something in it that kills ecoli and other bacteria in the bladder and kidneys that's why if you go to Mexico you got get sick from water but they don't because they eat tons of cilantro on everything:) I'm sure there are other circumstances, but it plays a big part
Hey. God bless you all. My chihuahua got her period when she turned 6months. And know she’s 7min the and she be spotting especially when she pee’s. I think it’s a UTI, I really don’t know it’s my first time having a dog. But will try this remedy today.
Both my dogs had uti problems and was also making crystals. They would not eat the special food so I asked my vet if I could put them on cranberry tablet that I'm on. She said that would be OK as they are just cranberry and vitamin C. They no longer have a crystal problem and have been clear of uti's for a few months now.

my brother has a Boston Terrier that started bleeding in his urine today. Taken to the Vet & given some antibiotics. Vet said its a sever case & sent a sample of his urine to a specialist. Cost my brother over $500. Hope his dog gets well soon! He's only around 3 years old.
What happened after that ?
@@rajdeepbhuyan898 So far, his dog is doing fine. He stopped bleeding. Hoping he will continue to have a happy & healthy life. Vet never really said what the problem was & of course wanted to charge a lot more money on test that my brother wasn't going to pay.
I LOVE natural remedies, thank you for sharing! I tried water and apple cider vinegar and she didn't budge but hopefully this will taste better!

Thanks dr . Could we use normal honey? as we don't have the dark unpasteurized honey?
@ Rimita Rima
Yes, if that's what you have, then you can use it!
@Rimita Rima
And depending upon where you live, your honey may be a different color and not particularly very dark, but still raw and local. Or local honey varies in color from dark golden to darker golden. Some are actually much lighter because of what the bees harvest the nectar from... Every regional honey is not going to be the same color.
@@feedwinnie thanks for your answer
I do appreciate your advice, Dr Jones.
Ditto!
You are awesome
Thanks for informing us
I just soaked kibble in water and added wet food to her diet That's all I did
Big improvement I wouldn't suggest honey though it's pure sugar and even humans in my opinion should not consume honey
But decaffeinated organic green tea I would try that
Everyone has to pick and choose but your info is awesome thanks again
I've been using a mallow and nettle tea for my cat that kept getting crystals but I'll try this now as the nettles and mallows have dried up.
I think this is what my dog has. He's a great dane. He has a appointment today. I hope it goes well.
Most respond well to treatment
What about the caffeine in green tea? I thought dogs were unable to metabolise caffeine??
Thank you for all of your amazing videos!! What type of honey do you use? And what type of green tea? Caffeine or caffeine free? 🤔 I'm guessing caffeine free?
Can I use decaf green tea too?
Thankyou so much!! ❤❤❤
Are you warming up the water for the green tea and then letting it cool off or just steep in cold water ?
My boy was just recently treated for these three infections: Enterococcus, Pseudomonas, enterobacter. 2 different antibiotics hoping that he no longer has them. Will this concoction help?

Do you have any recommendations for a cat that has a urinary track infection?
Donna, probably the same
What about crystals in urine ? Would any of these help?
As always excellent and detailed information Dr Jones. Thanks for the super helpful content :)
I very much doubt I can get dark unpasteurized honey. What is the alternative? Thank you Dr Jones.
@ Jazzie Marsh
Have you tried going to your local health food/herb store? That's where I buy mine. The label will clearly state where the honey is either harvested from or bottled at and/or both kinds of information should be on the label. It will also state whether or not its raw or pasteurized. I've even found Texas honey in the grocery stores, though it may not be directly in my immediate area, it's still considered local, because it's from my state. You should have no problem finding "local raw honey" with this information. I hope this helps!❤
@Jazzie Marsh
The color of your local honey will vary depending upon what the bees harvested from. 😉❤
@@feedwinnie Thank you. We have organic honey here in England. I believe it is similar to the raw honey. Once again thank you. Have a lovely day

Thanks!!!
Are you doing ACV with the mother or without?
Awesome. I hope I never Have to do that. Thanks

You can try D-MANNOSE. Just sprinkle on their food and it flushes bacteria out of the urinary tract naturally. Works great for me and my pets!
@@arbrider1 oh ok I use that myself so I have on hand, ty!
@@arbrider1 can I know the dosage per kg? My dog is 5kg. She already tried.taking emerflox, amoxicillin and even a convenia shot. She can pee normally but I still see her strain sometimes. Her urine color is normal too, no blood. I want to try dmannose for her.
@@IHeartBangtan_7 Hi! My cat is about that same weight and I give her a capsule sprinkled on her food about once a month to keep her urinary tract clear. I hope it helps your baby and it can't hurt her, it's a natural source.
Dr. Thank you for the great video. How much should I give my 6 lb Chihuahua?
1 cup for 50 pounds so do the math 50 divided by 6 around 8th as much. So 1/8th a cup should work on 6 pounds. Or try 1/8th twice a day. 1/4 cup per day.
If your dog is allergic to bee stings, can they still have honey? If so, is Manuka honey made with honey from Australia ok?

Thank you in advance love ur channel 🤩 i tired the special dry food for him but it didn't work so im gonna try this one 🤞
Can I leave it refrigerated and use it again same day at night. Or is it best to keep at room temperature
Ok Dr. Jones, what is the difference between green tea and black tea?you seem to go back and forth between the 2… so why one instead of the other?
Atm i have her uti's under control doing a protocol of premade raw food with enough water , cranberry juice daily and also doing marshmallow root occasionally and d mannose in emergency.
Thank you! Heading to the kitchen for my puppy now!
It worked?
I wonder if D-Mannose would work for dogs as well as it does for humans? Works better than antibiotics for humans as per studies. I always have some on hand and at the first sign, I used it for 2 days and it's gone. Rarely ever get UTI but when it's near I avoid it with D-mannose.
Heidi how much do u take?
@@pomcrzymimi It depends on the situation, if I feel like something is wrong and I need to pee more frequently I will take 1full tsp in the morning with water and at night before bed. Usually, it will go away overnight. If not I then do it 3 times a day. If you wait too long and you really have all the symptoms then it's suggested to take it every 2 hours till better than 4 times a day, and then twice till fully recovered. I never had to take it more than 2 days even when full-on. I buy mine in bulk and always keep an extra jar on hand in case it goes out of stock because getting the powder form at a reasonable price is near impossible in Canada.
You can read more on it and here's where I buy mine that the cheapest price in bulk: iherb.co/5v7xp8rK
Hope this helps!
If the organism is e coli it will. D mannose binds to ecoli, I don't believe anything else.
@@ab935 Exactly! It binds the e coli and releases it in the urine, nothing else to believe in, that's how it works!!
