ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
    =====
Dr. Katie is a small animal integrative veterinarian who developed a passion for natural medicine while I was living in New Zealand. Her vet career was lucky enough to begin in the beautiful country of New Zealand. She was able to see how living off the land by growing our own vegetables and raising our own animals was the way to live the healthiest versions of ourselves. Her pets were lucky to have lots of open space to run around in and were always at the beach or the river.
When they moved back to the States five years ago, her husband, unfortunately, developed an autoimmune disease. As they researched natural medicine options for him to avoid the horrible side effects of the treatment options his doctors were providing him, Dr. Katie realized that she was doing a disservice to her animal patients by not offering these holistic options to them. She began down the integrative medicine route and has never been happier. Through nutrition, acupuncture, herbal medicine, essential oils, and supplements, every animal can achieve optimal health or feel their best even when they have a chronic illness or disease like cancer. She currently has a certification in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and is continuously learning about the other natural modalities and growing her knowledge base every day!
She started this business to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care because we need to increase awareness of how amazing natural medicine truly is! Dr. Katie's mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime. One of her greatest joys is the opportunity to collaborate with both pet parents and other veterinary professionals to ensure access to all available integrative options for pet health care.

My cat Mr Bumbles just passed away today from Crystals. Why do vets want so much to help them? They wanted 1500 to 2000 to help him. Why couldn't they let us make payment? I want to start a utub channel to raise money to help people who cant afford to pay for there cats Veterinarian bill. This is so sad that they just sent him home without helping him and later him passing away on us. He will be missed Dearly

My kitty is ItsyBitsy and has only had a couple of problems with UTI in all of her 9 years. I discovered a long time ago to NOT use scented litter! Some of those are so strong you can smell them just walking close to the aisle they are displayed on. Also, do NOT use too much litter. If the level is high the kitty can rub into it and get irritated. God bless the kittehs!! Love from Texas.

Everyone on here try the home remedies. If you cannot afford the vet bill, as i, you are on this channel for a reason. There are treatments that are worth trying before they die. Watch the youtube videos on it and take action. We must educate ourselves to help our animal family. There are many vets on youtube sharing their knowledge and treatment so take it and use it.

im glad in my country (malaysia) has very cheap price for vet, my cat has pee problem (cannot pee and if the cat pee, the pee has blood in it), then i bring my cat to vet and they said my cat has crystal in the urine, they said my cat need operation to remove the crystal by flushing method (tubing to urinal) and inspect the cat for a week in the vet. After a week they called me and im very happy that the operation was a success and my cat is healthy and happy like he was. The doctor is very professional and friendly, it only costed me RM 600 (133 dollars) in total for all the operation, services and medicine.

Usually… someone is searching for home remedies because the vets are thieves… or they won’t see new patients… or they can’t see your cat for weeks… or they want thousands of dollars that just isn’t available. I remember my old family vet. He would NEVER not help a sick animal. If you couldn’t pay he’d work it it out with you. If you couldn’t pay anything… he’d still treat your baby. He passed away years ago… and I don’t believe that he died any poorer for his compassion for sick animals. Maybe these vets today should make a note of that. Society has certainly degraded over the years… my 4 year old female cat is horribly sick right now with a blockage and there isn’t a vet within 50 miles that will see her. No new patients… no appointments for 2 weeks… then there’s the humane society… scum. They want me to relinquish her or they won’t help. I spend more of my monthly SSDI on my two cats than I do myself. I take awesome care of them. Now, because I can’t afford thousands in vet bills… they say im not able to care for her so I must give her away to be saved. I hate people. They suck.

Yes, Vets sure can take note that greed ISN’T Equal to treatment or care. We had a vet in my early years who was a lifesaver. He knew how attached we were to our cat that we found and nursed back to health as youngsters with adult Supervision. Our cat was critically i’ll & the vet called us one night saying he would stay late to be with our baby & if we wanted to come see him in case he would let us see him. Tiger was at death’s door & I was only about 7-8 …I took a Blanket that I held to my body & the vet took it & put it in the cage with him to lay on. I remember him looking so frail & being so cold but he fought & lived to be 24.5 years old! All of my animals ~ Dogs, Cats,Birds hamster’s etc lived WAY BEYOND their lifespan and were happy & healthy. Being on a limited income is hard & can’t always afford the wellness visits but I know that my animals are happy & healthy All but 1-3 were adopted or taken in. God Bless all the vets who aren’t ruled by the almighty dollar. I became a Nurse to HELP Not to make a big paycheck.

Juniper Berry is a Miracle! It was all I had on hand last night for my 8 y.o. male cat yowling in pain, not able to pass. He laid on crystals in his bed and breathed in the diffuser for hours till he released in the wee hours while he slept. I also credit the Reiki cat healing music. Rushed him to vet this morning, x rated and the vet tells me he's quite surprised there are no blockages, crystals, stones visible!!! Sedated, overnight stay but no catheter needed so far! Thank you. They sent him home with pills, onstor and prazosin, and a piller. I'm worried he will choke!! I got a CBD in salmon oil which I would rather give but I will try the vet protocol 1st. So Happy to have my baby boy home but the other 3 cats don't like his smell so they're all growling. No fights though cuz they're a nuclear family! Thanks for the personal reply! Urinalysis showed blood and bacteria but no white blood cells (infection) .. so they diagnosed her with cystitis.. was on pain /anxiety medication for a week, symptoms never subsided. Shes back again today for more blood and urinalysis! I hope she recovers. I got a new cat last year .. and im almost 100% certain she is the #1 stressor. Ive changed her food, have her on soft foods with a little water added. Stopped giving her tap water, also giving her homeopet UI for her urinary tract.. and something called "liquid vet" for kidney and bladder.. she's still showing symptoms. I did suspect that a disposable litter box contributed to his mucous plug due to the clay litter chemicals irritating his urethra. I typically use pine pellets or corn cob litter with no issues. I got rid of the disposable litter pans.

I was using bioidentical hormone cream on myself and think it affected my animals. Exposure to other things can cause problems as well. I have found CBD to work wonderfully as well as natural remedies like the tickle tonic and giving them good food, or the best I can afford and what they will eat. Blessings everyone 🙏💜 well after reading some of the comments I wanted to share a remedy/tip that could potentially help your dog or cat feel relief very quickly while the other remedies start to work.
So..... Someone here mentioned colonial silver
(I just want to mention that I actually been trying that and it has worked very well given of course what your furry baby has is also an infection otherwise the colloidal silver really doesn't do much because the purpose is antibacterial )
❤👉 Collodial silver in a spray bottle and your cat or dog allows you to spray some of that silver where they urinate from it can immediately relieve the burning discomfort that comes with one of those infections.
Have you or anyone you know ever had a burning urine do to whatever reason ? Have you ever splashed some cool water on the area? It helps greatly !
( I would do drinking water and just put it on there for a little bit and then just "fan the area" it immediately relieves that burning.
You can try a little wet napkin too.
Well for my baby I just sprayed the little area on top where she pees BUT INSTEAD USED SILVER SPRAY ( I used Sovering Silver brand just because of its nano silver and antibacterial property )
Immediately she began to purr and calm down on the spot.
If your cat allows you to carry them like a baby or maybe you could just have someone help you hold your cat (depending on your cat) but I tell you once your cat feels the relief they will understand that this is good and they'll be looking forward to it next time and hopefully that next time won't have to be more to many times.
If your baby cry after they pee you could spray the area with a little of this and if they let you put them in front of a fan even better.
I hope this truly helps somebody and that you home is peaceful and that your cat and all your animals are blessed and well.
Please if you see this work for your baby share with others and other videos and as I am also a believer in Christ I say take authority in his name and declare that anything that is causing your baby problems will completely be gone in Yeshua Hamachiac Christ mighty name and so it is 🙏

My cat had two struvite blockages while on canned food and urinary supplements I was giving him a treat that change cranberry to try to prevent as a problem and lo and behold within a week he was back in the hospital. Currently he is on a dry food that is very low carbohydrate and apparently the carbohydrates affect the pH and affect the crystals, along with the high mineral contents of a lot of food. He's been doing well for more than a year except he seems to be sensitive to one of the amino acids in the food I have no idea what to do😮

Glad I found this video. My male 6 year old cat, Houdini is going through this right now. He was completely blocked from crystals, I rushed him to the hospital. He was there for four days for treatment. Urinal analysis came back and he has bacteria infection, they claim it's from the catheter so they put him on antibiotics. I hope he doesn't get backed up again. He is peeing but only small sizes and doing it frequently from the inflammation from the infection. I check his bladder many times to make sure it's not full, it still feels like a squishy water balloon and not a softball, so that's good. Half Apple cider vinegar and water helps improve the amount of urine. Any more recommendations will help.

Hi! This was a very informative video! Thank you!
I have 3 Male cats, all littermates, 4 years of age. They never go outside, all are neutered. I thought our Grey was being a bad kitty- he's started urinating in odd places. Actually he has done this a few times in my son's clothes basket, but now it seems to be different places. He seems to go plenty- he left a 10"x6" or so puddle under a chair as his latest. I use d-mannose myself for incontinence and frequent UTI's. I have powder that I add to my morning tea. He has wet & dry food and they share a water bowl that is cleaned, replenished 3-4 times a day so it's difficult to know how much he drinks. We give them filtered water. If I wanted to give him the d-mannose as it does a good job for me would it be bad for the other cats? Would I need to separate him for awhile from the others? And how much should I try? He's about 14 lbs.
He hasn't done any crying out in pain-- just the urinating where he shouldn't and my son, whose cat he is, says he feels warmer than usual and the cat won't come to sleep in his room anymore, BUT he often sleeps in the bathroom sink in the summer, and is doing so now. (I find hair in it in the morning.)
Thank you again, I did learn some new things!
I also subscribed. I am a big fan of natural treatment for myself and the kitties if I can. I have watched videos from a vet in Canada (Veterinary Secrets).

Please help me. My male cat “Frosty” has been going in and out of the vet due to urinary blockage. First time I noticed was when he started to lick his genitals a lot and was hissing while doing so. Frosty is a very sweet, gentle baby and never hissed. So that was alarming for me. I later on noticed he couldn’t pee. He was straining to urinate for 10-15mins and nothing was coming out. We took him to the vet the next day and they had to insert a catheter in him. He stayed at the vet for 4 days (which cost me A LOT) then he came back home. I got him a water fountain, which he loved. He started drinking probably 8x more than he did, and I also incorporated wet food into his diet. I would feed him wet food in the morning with extra water, and dry food in the evening with water added. He has been peeing so much (it almost squirts) and i was so happy. Weeks later he started to pee very little again with blood. I was very worried, but the next day, his pee was back to normal. No more blood too. What a relief. But another few weeks later, he blocked again. No pee was coming out for a whole day. I tried to follow advices on youtube and gave him ACV but it didn’t work for me at all. (I gave him ACV the first time he blocked too and didnt work as well). So we took him to the vet and he had to stay there for a few days again. Vet Doctor said a perineal urethrostomy would be recommended if he still blocks. I AM SO SCARED I don’t want him to get surgery and I cannot afford it. It has been 2 days since he’s home now and i notice him peeing small amounts again. He has take home medications and I’ve been giving it to him religiously. Results also said there’s no crystals or stones found in his urine/bladder. Suspected cause is bacteria. Why does it keep coming back despite him being very hydrated? I’ve been feeding him urinary care food too, as well as Royal Canin. I really cannot afford any more vet visit. Could cat litter be the cause too? If so, what’s the safest option? Please help me!

My baby is going through the EXACT same thing... 😫😥😥😿😿😿 I feel so incredibly helpless.. we have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at the emergency vet, he's had to be hospitalized, kept for 4 days, had surgery to remove a stone, put and religiously kept on royal canin urinary s.o diet which is ridiculously expensive.. $70 for 24 cans and the cans are really small so they're supposed to eat 3 cans a day for a 10 pound cat which my baby is just under 10 pounds. So $70 a week just on food. He was fine for about a month after he had the surgery to remove the stone. Then he started straining again and only peeing tiny amounts so we took him back in, spent another $800 for urinalysis, bloodwork, and x-ray. They said there was no infection, no crystals, no stones. The problem was an inflamed urethra. They also suggested P U surgery but we can't afford the $4000 it would cost to get that done. Also they said the P U surgery is no guarantee, and there is a chance it could actually end up making the problem worse. So we brought him home and for two weeks now he's only been peeing tiny amounts. The vet says it's only a matter of time before he gets blocked again and that this will be a recurring issue for the rest of his life. We literally emptied our savings trying to help him so now we have no money and if he blocks again we're going to have to put him down 😭😭😭 I'm devastated. He is only 3 years old. I've been researching everything I can find and so far, nothing has helped. So desperate for a solution for my baby...

Vets absolutely rip us off in the Uk. They are in no hurry to sort it out and charge exorbitant amounts to do tests. I was asked for £1900 today for an Ultra sound scan and a removal of urine via needle under sedation. I had to refuse because i didn't have that much so they charged me £614 to draw urine under sedation to send away for a culture test. I'm not happy with them at all. I had to ask for an anti inflammatory which cost apprx £27 for about 3ml bottle. I already paid over £400 last week for a routine urine test and a blood test and my cat is still passing blood in her urine. They saw her once and I've been back there to pay up 3x.

water down their food and mix in d-mannose - problem almost always solved within 12 hours
d-mannose is safe enough to give as a preventative for their entire life; 250 milligrams per day mixed into food for 2 weeks, then take them off of it for a week, then give for another 2 weeks, then off for a week, etc, etc
l-lysine can also help quite a bit, but usually doesn't help enough just on it's own (lysine is also great for upper respiratory infections as well and can be given as a preventative at 500-1000 milligrams every day)

I'm going to order DL-Methionine and add it to their raw . Or add extra to the pet store urinary can food. DL-Methionine is the acidifier in the vet food. The vet food uses cheap by product meats such as pork. I believe my cat is allergic to pork but doesn't matter to vets. If vets don't see you buying and feeding them the vet only food they will blame and shame you if your cat gets ANY urinary issues. We still need vets for blockages and many other critical care stuff. But they're def part of a flawed system.

I fed my boy dry food for a few years then included wet food a few years back but the thing is he drank a lot of water always so I didn't worry too much about it. But I did and still do add EVOO to his dry food which he loves, especially when it's freshly mixed. I changed his kitty litter to clumping clay because I thought he was allergic to the litter I was using which was not the case so I returned to the A&H Naturals corn based. Now because of the clay litter I think my baby boy is suffering from a possible UTI. I just hope it's not more serious, poor baby; stupid mommy.😢

Yes I bought a bottle of d mannose powder at natural grocers and just tip of the teaspoon or about a pinch sprinkled over his food each meal two meals per day and then I also had some water and have a spray bottle with apple cider vinegar I spray his butt or his paws after meals. You can also dip a cotton ball and apple cider vinegar and debit on his front paws. There is cranberry juice that has no sugar in it however I am worried about his teeth so I haven't use that long-term at all it did seem to help short-term. I have also tried the tinkle tonic as a preventative. 3 drops per meal

I don't know how it will work for anyone else but I just cured my female 12 yr old cats bladder cystitis. I took a tablet of j goldenseal root. Opened it up opened my kittys vagina flaps and sprinkled the goldenseal root on the wet spot. I watched her carefully. She immediately started to lick the area but I was good with that because any she got internally would get to the bladder from that direction. She immensely hated the taste and just didn't try twice. Its bitter. I did it the way I did because I didn't want to have her digest a lot of it. The vaginal area was spot on the route to the bladder. I gave her tuna water and milk. But she is a standard dry food eater. I did this treatment every evening for 6 days. She was cured and has never had an issue since then. It's been well over three months and zero squatting issues. I got the goldenseal root tablets from the health food store. It is an anti lots of things. But it's main avenue is mucosal soothing and purification. It took a minute to write this but I know I love my old cat and I didn't have hundreds of dollars. I could see she was not able to pee and that she was in pain and had a swollen abdomen. That was an easy 300 dollar exam. Traditional vet treatment was astronomical. I have used goldenseal twice on my own urinary tract infections. Did it just like I did my cat. It worked instantly for me and that is howI came to decide to use it on my cat. Good luck. I hope this helps someone struggling to help their cat. This would probably work for dogs as well. Just my gift of success to offer here. Hope all goes well for all. Bty. She went back to her dry food the day after I treated her. She just doesn't like anything but dry cat chow

I have a 3 year old boy cat named moo( because he's a dump truck (he's licked everyone else's bowl after feeding) that's why I named him that) and I noticed him not seeming like himself in the past couple of days. He's still using the litter box bit when he leaves, he trails... also sometimes he just sits there and locks alot so I checked him out and it seems like he's peeping as he cleans himself. Would I just sprinkle some of that goldenseal root on his area? I'm at wits end and can't afford to take him to a vet. Thanks in advance!

They can learn to like wet food, like adding it in gradual increments to her kibble, feeding her boiled chicken or rinsed sardines with it... I had to do that in the beginning, my cat almost died because of a single bladder crystal, but I added diluted ACV with water into his wet food until I could get him into a vet. He actually PASSED the crystal two days before my approval with a local charity fund came through. The vet checked him out, and told me no more kibble EVER,that even the really pricey ones contained harmful things for cats with this kind of sensitivity. He recommended making homemade cat food or raw food...and to watch for stress...

    • @TazHall
      @TazHall ปีที่แล้ว +1

The catch will just keep developing the Crystals and Stones for because of the plant-based alkaline ingredients in kibble they cannot metabolize. They are obligate carnivores, they need meat. Kibble is full of starch, plant-based additives, an artificial jump. It's like eating McDonald's every day. The best thing you can ever do is transition your cat to wet food and then to raw food.

I add water to the wet food plate for their dinner with the tip of the teaspoon of d mannose powder. It may be that the water in my city is not good enough for him because oddly we are both experiencing the cystitis type symptoms.

Take apple cider vinegar, put 5 ounces into a bowl, dilute it with 5 ounces of water. Hold your cat gently by the scruff of their neck and rub them down with the solution. Only rub them down where they’ll be able to lick it. Cats will most always lick whatever is on their fur and this is a good way for them to get the apple cider vinegar. Do this twice a day until you know they’re peeing.
I also mixed in a bowl,
Organic grass fed, no salt added chicken broth, 100% organic cranberry juice, no added sugar and diluted the pure cranberry with water
Half an ounce of inner leaf aloe Vera juice
And gave her 3 droppers full twice a day. This worked well for my cat. If your cat shows no improvement or peeing in 3 days, stop the treatment and take them to the vet.

I used the emergency pet protocol of dmso and mms 1 (aka Sodium Chlorite) on my 3yo male cat and saved him from a emergency room visit. Now I'm implementing her supplement recommendations from video, giving pet CBD and changing to wet food with NO magnesium, calcium or phosphate which seem to be the contributors to his struvite stones.
The vet administered Antibiotics did NOT help his UTI or struggle to pee at all.
Pet Protocol is 1d DMSO in 6ml of water every 8hrs til symptoms are gone. No pharma drugs while using DMSO as it will intensify them.
and 6d of 28% solution of Sodium Chlorite (aka MMS 1) in 4oz (120ml) water. Administered for my 13lb cat at 1.5ml every 15min for 2hrs, then every hour for 8 more hours. NO other foods given during protocol that may act as antioxidants as they counteract the mms 1.
