The US Military and Government is formulating and response while Putin sits back in his million dollar gamer chair waiting to see how his latest chess move plays out on the world stage.

The water shortage in Crimea is of Russian making. Ukraine has been supplying Crimea with water, electricity and gas from the moment Russia invaded it to avoid giving Russia this exact excuse. Russia built a bridge to facilitate movement (including troop movement), electricity, gas and water from mainland Russia to Crimea.
So either Russia has over-populated Crimea or they are restricting water themselves to create this issue. It is interesting itself that the shortage is only water. A shortage of electricity, food, gas would impede troop buildup. But a shortage of water doesn’t because they have enough drinking water, they are simply on water rations.

@@marctemura2017 Ukraine is so corrupt and screwed up economically I don't see why Russia would want it. Russia is now the worlds largest exporter of wheat. CHINA has leased an enormous amount of Ukrainian farmland. Russia has replaced Ukraine as it's heavy engine and gas turbine producer. Same with the Baltics. They have nothing that Russia hasn't replaced when the 2014 sanctions were put in place. All Russia needs is southern latitude crop production and for that it will trade with Greece, Cyprus and Turkey. The Burisma company can continue to steal what little gas passes through Ukraine before Nordstream II makes Ukraine gas transit unnecessary.

    • @the_Kutonarch
      @the_Kutonarch 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah, that's an absolute falsehood.
The reason why *THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE* uses the definite article for _the_ Ukraine is because of the meaning of the word Ukraine, "borderlands", which *REQUIRES* the use of "the" as a part of its grammar.
The EXACT SAME THING goes for *the* Netherlands! It's grammatically WRONG to say "I'm going to visit Netherlands" because it follows the same grammar rules as the English word "lowlands", hence it must be used in the same manner.
_"We are approaching _*_the_*_ lowlands now"_ is correct.
_"We are approaching lowlands now"_ is absolutely wrong, and any native speaker of English can tell something is off about that sentence, it doesn't sound right.
_"We are approaching the Netherlands now"_ correct
_"We are approaching Netherlands now"_ incorrect
_"We will be landing in the Ukraine shortly"_ is correct
_"We will be landing in Ukraine shortly"_ is *WRONG*
I'm quite frankly tired of Ukrainians using the English language in a proxy war with Russia.
Ukrainians, you *don't have* a definite article in your language, don't act like you know how it should be used, where it is appropriate to use it or not. Your behaviour is disgusting, shall I unilaterally campaign for the addition of a definite article to be inserted into the Ukrainian language? How would you like that, a foreigner messing with your language?
      Change:
      "litak nezabarom pryzemlytʹsya"
      To
      " _Zayt_ litak nezabarom pryzemlytʹsya"
Now Ukrainian has a definite article, congratulations!
BTW, it's still Kiev in English, not Kyiv. It has nothing to do with Russia. Kiev is how you spell Kiev in English, Kyiv is how you spell Kiev if you transliterate it from Cyrillic into the Latin alphabet.

Ukraine's military expenditure has definitely increased considerably since from 1 billion in 2014 to 5 billion in 2020 still extremely low and corruption will drag on any reforms and improvements to the Ukrainian military. There does seem to be increased levels of cooperation between Turkey, the Czech republic and the Ukraine already and a number of other countries which may help as well. They have made big strides since 2014 when there army was a total shambles but they still have a huge amount of work to do . Also the country as a whole has a major corruption problem that needs to be seriously addressed.

I'm impressed with your ability to understand the Russian mindset. Good stuff. I'd add that, historically, about every 100 years Russia has faced an invasion of some sort from the West. In my opinion, their leadership are trying to secure the longevity of the country with this historical fact in mind. Also, it is better to just say "Ukraine" instead of "the Ukraine". The reason people say this is because the "krai" in the word Ukraine means "border" or "the borderland" (of Russia). The word Ukraine is etymologically connected to the concept of a borderland. This has somehow come into English with people saying "the Ukraine" (kinda like "the borderlands"). It inadvertently denies the independence of Ukraine by reinforcing the idea that Ukraine is simply the outskirts of Russia and not a sovereign nation. For this reason, many educated Russian speakers have stopped saying "na Ukraine" (literally on Ukraine like you'd say "on the boarder lands") and now say "v Ukraine" (in Ukraine like you'd say when talking about a sovereign nation). Just a note!

I think u forgot to mention few things:
    1. There were about 15k russian soldiers in Crimea before the 2014 Sevastopol was russian foreign naval base
    2. There was not a single shot fired by ukranian military in Crimea or near its borders during or after the revolution in the Ukraine in 2014. The civil war goes in the region of Donbas
    3. In the attempt to get Crimea back and as the act of care of its citizens Ukraine not only turned off the walve of water but also switched off the electricity and enaged a total blockade of all supplies including food and medical to people in Crimea. Btw most of this problems are solved by now thanks to the crimean bridge.
    4. Russia started the "drilles" near the borders of Ukraine as the response to Ukranian troops concetrating near the borders of rebel states of Donbas and if u look closely at the map that u showed in the video u will see that Lugansk and Donetsk are under artillery fire atm and people are dying in their beds including small children.

Let me ask you and everyone this question,
“Crimea was transferred from Russia to Ukraine in 1954, when both were part of the Soviet Union, at that time the Crimean people had not been asked about their view, whereas in the 2014 referendum they had, and with a turnout of 83% of the Crimean population they voted 97% percent in favor for integration of the region into the Russian Federation. Also, observers to the 2014 Crimean referendum included members of the European Union's parliament, as well as MPs from various European nations, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia and Poland, and that observers quoted regarding the conditions of the referendum that they corroborated claims of the referendum having adhered to international standards, with no irregularities or breaches of democracy. Yet, you and others are calling a democratically held referendum an ANNEXATION, however when Kosovo declared its independence in 2008 simply by its members of the Assembly and without an internationally observed referendum immediately the US, UK, France, Italy, Turkey and many other states it was immediately recognized.”
    - having said that can someone please explain to me why we live in a world that is sooo anti Russia still? Why are we in the US constantly sanctioning Russia for everything and are okay with selling Saudi Arabia billions of dollars in weapons to kill the innocent civilians in Yemen? We are constantly meddling in almost every other countries elections even going as far as killing their leaders and are soo butt hurt about a few Facebook posts about US elections. How can everyone not see the irony in this all? Why are you so biased against Russia 🇷🇺 and attempting to put all of the blame on Russia even going as far as to humiliate their accents?

So what, For years now we've watched massive displays but reality is Russian military is falling apart. Their equipment is Cold War and post cold war relics. policymakers can learn from the history of imperial collapse is that the role of the international community is paramount in sorting out relations between former rulers and subjects. Few stable states have emerged from the ruins of bygone empires without strong international support, whether it is the French role in securing American independence, Russian and British involvement in the struggle for Greek statehood, or the U.S. role in supporting the aspirations of former Warsaw Pact. 22 Russian oligarchs stolen half the nations wealth from the state. The other 150 million Russians were left in destitution and poverty, and the average life expectancy in Russia dropped from 65 to 57 years. ordinary Russians took to the streets to protest his rule. Putin’s method of dealing with an angry population comes from the standard dictator playbook. Assassinate media and journalists who report on the subject; and start wars. Starting wars is preiminent method for ignoring internal domestic and social issues
