    I want to do this and be good at it. What training do I need? I have a MHA degree and medical coding certificate

      Hi Jane is that a mental health degree? Usually your employer should have clinical audit or a clinical governance lead. They should advise on available training and it is very helpful to shadow others who are more experienced at auditing. Again you may be able to arrange shadowing/ observations through your leads. I never had a training programme for audits, it was more 1:1 working with others. I hope that helps. 😊

      The original 4 stage model links to Burgess et al.(2011) that you can find in the reference slide near the end of this video. Or you could reference NICE (2002) Principles for Best Practice in Clinical Audit for other models. Authors were NICE, Commission for Health Improvement, Royal College of Nursing and University of Leicester and published in London. Hope that helps.

      Do you mean audit in UK or India? You need to be a registered nurse in UK to do nursing audits usually.
