You kinda went over it a little bit with tenma but my favorite part in the match is when hinata accepts his role on being the greatest decoy. Huge character growth, almost made me tear up.

The point Hinata stops chasing to be a little giant and instead solidifies himself as the greatest decoy was one of the most important pieces of character development for him

Mangas are so absurd. They're such beautiful pieces of literature, it's so insane. If you were to tell someone that you cried after reading about a volleyball match, they'd look at you crazy. But the breakdown of Hinata was so heartbreaking I couldn't help but shed insane amounts of tears. All the little details are heart-wrenching. Takeda talking to Hinata, not letting him play, but giving him one of the best monologues in the series imo. It's so tough, bitter, and you can feel how hard it is to swallow, as you sympathize with Hinata. Just the pure shock you experience reading the fact that Hinata was steaming hot ever since Inarizaki. When Kageyama said that he won, it didn't feel like their usual rivalry. There was just something about how well he understood what was wrong with Hinata at that point. Hinata tearing up while apologizing got me so hard.
But, in my biased, whole-hearted opinion, the saddest part was when Kenma gave Hinata his tablet to watch the match. There was just something about their friendship that was so touching. Kenma giving Hinata his "biggest" tablet to Hinata because he understood his situation is something beautiful.
kenma giving hinata his most beloved and important thing to him made me shocked. and btw, me seeing hinata reinforcing the concept and title of the greatest decoy was FIRE, i was proud every single time he received the ball, as nekomata said, u cant improve receiving overnight. just proves how much he improved over time.
Instead of becoming the little giant he became Ninja Shoyo! 🔥

Thank you for touching on washijo’s monologue. It’s one of the best moments of the match and all of haikyu in general, but I still find it rarely mentioned or just an afterthought

Everything you said in this video is exactly how I feel about this match. It’s the stuff that’s going on off the court that really really it in for me that makes it my favorite match.
You notice how much hinata has affected others which really does forshadow the last chapter and what happens.
The coaches monologue, honestly all of them during the entire manga, were breathtaking .
You almost made me cry!! This match made me so sad in so many ways - but good ways. I was upset that Karasuno lost, but the way the story developed after that was really good; I could see why Furudate wrote it the way he did.
I think the most important part of this arc is that EVERYONE we had been following LOST. As far as I know, some unknown team won and we never find out who! What you said at the end of the video (“what will you become tomorrow?”) is the most important theme, not who wins nationals. The more I think about that, the more I like it and the more I love Furudate for bringing us this version of Haikyuu!!
When this segment gets animated I cannot wait to emphasize this to the world. (But for now, I’ll just do it here.)

We are actually shown later on that Fukurodani lose to a team named Ichibayashi in the final. We are never shown anything about their team or their players though, it’s not even the same team that beat Itachiyama.
In my opinion Karasuno vs Nekoma was the greatest match in any sports,
it subverted so many trops,
Any sports hype rival teams by them being so powerful that the protagonists are like insects to then, so it set up those scenes were the rivals get impressed when the protagonist show their skills
But not Nekoma, Nekoma WAS the underdog, Karasuno was that powerhouse unconventional team, but nekoma brought a Crow slaying tactic to the game,
Kenma went READY for that, they thoroughly studied karasuno and all its vulnerabilities, exploited then, extrapolated the game dynamics, in my opinion the reason why that stuff happen with Hinata during the kamomedai game was because kenma plan sucessfuly depleted ALL his stamina
I even roted for Nekoma because it was like fucking batman vs superman
While I slightly prefer the Kamomedai match, Nekoma is neck and neck with it for sure! Love what you said about the rival being underdogs which is so u pique! Also crazy when you consider how much better Nekoma was at the start of the series and how they directly helped Karasuno become this great team.

As someone who doesnt have even the slightest interest in games, this anime had me absolutely HOOKED. It's insane how they make a seemingly 'simple' sport like volleyball, something that always felt like a casual beach game to me, so intriguing. the way each match, each play, and everything else is broken down is some next level storytelling. I never wouldve thought this when i watched the anime years ago, but till date, this is my favourite anime of all time.
Just the fact that anyone can say "manga and anime are just cartoons" baffles me. I can count on my hand the number of times I've cried or been moved by western media, but I can't even think about the number of times I've been moved by manga and anime. Beautiful video.

My favorite part is the lesson that talent and enthusiasm are meaningless if you dont take care of your body. Also how the teacher telling hinata that he has to be prepared because he won't be given unlimited chances echos the captain when the third years started saying you have to grab the chances ehen thry present themselves
This all just makes me want to see it *all* animated one day. It would be great.
My only hope is that the movies make enough to get the Mugen Train treatment of actually getting expanded in a season of anime which then allows us to get a proper adaptation including stuff like Fukurodani vs Mujinazaka and the timeskip

Perhaps my favorite moment in this match was when Hinata met Tenma Udai, the original Small Giant. He finds out that Udai didn't go pro, and he's not mad.
Hinata was inspired by him to play, yet meeting him made him realize what he actually wanted to be on the Volleyball court.

Recently My parents have forced me to play a team sport And I didn’t want to at all!So my mom chose for me she made me join a Volleyball Team and I Hated it For about a week than I met some of the greatest people I ever will in my life. They all motivated me and showed me what team sports really meant and the couch who taught me so much he changed me for the better Even though I was with that teams many many months ago I still remember them and will never forget How volleyball and A team sport changed my life and one day I’m gonna play for Americas team
Haikyuu is a softer version of Slam Dunk. Just look at all the things copied from that manga

@@harryw3310 they are not covering anything else other than nekoma and kamomedai matches. and that is still tall ask based on how much screen time nekoma is confirmed (2 chps shorter than shiratorizawa v karasuno but 2h less screen time)

@@aniessays i love the end part of the series and the brazil arc. as it shows the growth for hinata and its was so fun to see how it all came to fruition. Plus the videos just put the words of the story of how i felt. Especially the Tsuki video
one subtle character moment i loved in this match was after they lost the first set and immediately tsukishima said they're going to play full sets again, he's able to admit enthusiasm not just within himself but also with his team
That flashback of Udai having a frustrating match, and then seeing how intense those eyes were.

Reading this match for the first time and waiting for a chapter each week was such an unforgettable experience. Everyone felt like they were just living their life but I was always left thinking on how Furudate will further the story of Hinata and Haikyuu!
Really wish I read this weekly (I caught up to the manga shortly after it finished). Since I read it when after the manga had concluded I kept thinking; "How are they going to win nationals with only 100 chapters left??" and oh boy was I devastated at the end of this match.

See I love this content, I love the points. I love the match, but its Challenger match. Lower stakes, but the way that match ends, expands, fullfils 4 different plots (might be 5-6), especially King Of The Court stretch... sheeesh.
Also, Esperion v Aomori Seiran in Ao Ashi. From storytelling, character moments, themes, motivations, etc that one and Kamomedai are practically even. Esperion v Aomori though is a better match and that adds to it.

But I think comparing aomori v esperion to this match is disingenuous because this match is the funebashi match instead. Aomori v esperion is closer to shiratorizawa v karasuno since they are the accomplishment match

felt like a missed opportunity when they just skip the next year's tournament. i get it's more realistic but.. it's a story, I wanted to at least see how karasuna handles the tournament next year
my take is it would've been redundant. furudate had finished the story he wanted to tell, and he needed to wrap it up. i think its awesome how furudate was able to make such an interesting training arc with brazil, as well as wrapping up everyones arcs in the challenger arc. im just so unsure of what more could be grown upon in the following years before graduation. tbh it would've only been more volleyball, and, to be honest, you should really just watch actual volleyball for that, its awesome

First of all they are still stunning plus the animation is adapting the manga's artstyle change. Second, pandemic. The last two seasons are actually one season that was cut in half because of COVID.

The view from the summit part 2 is my favorite chapter in the whole manga. That last page is perfection and the thematic climax of the series imo. I didn't love the final arc of the manga, but everything up to that point was amazing.

Just for any simpletons out there. Blue Lock's Japan U-20 match is a joke compared to even season 2 of Haikyuu's finale. Like yeah were gonna compare porbably one of the greatest underdog stories in sports storytelling HISTORY to a bunch of underwritten super geniuses with basically superpowers. Like OOOOKAY HAHAHA

Like Slam Dunk, it made sense. We lose in real life all the time, and there's still a huge room for improvement for the first years. If anything, what made me sad was that they never won nationals even in their third and last year 😟

U-20 is hype but Blue Lock is not narritively deep. U-20 is like not even half as many chapters in to its story as haikyuu was with this match. The character development is overwhelming compared to U-20. It's not even a contest. U-20 is mid compared to this. Characters in Blue Lock are so cartoonishly overpowered it becomes more of a spectacle than deep storytelling AND spectacle like Haikyuu.
