@ me too. We occasionally go out to dinner. In December it was Zach’s 40th and him, Shopdad, Me, KC, Tuner Cody and our spouses all went out. It was a good time hanging with old friends.
Having three guys show up to learn a specific repair would be interesting. The three guys would naturally have questions and we would see the solutions. Hands on live. tHanks for the video
Videos on gapping panels, blocking, fab, using the laser level for body lines, all that stuffs interesting. More tech oriented videos I feel could be good considering the level you guys build too. Could probably do a video alone on Keenan and how he color sands and buffs. You guys are a wealth of knowledge, great channel!!
@Photobombin I've been buffing cars for years and just by watching your guys video the other day I found a few little tricks just in that 5 minutes of him talking about buffing that fender. For instance I had no idea you could use orbital buffers to buff a sanded fender, I thought you had to start with a traditional buffer, its cool to learn new things. So between that and the fact they talk about the tools they use, I think that's where people will get even more value out of the channel. That or I'm just a tool nerd who can't get enough of this stuff lol.
I enjoy seeing the weekly progress, don’t find it monotonous/dull. The technical videos mixed in are great as well. Also, as a small business owner I like KC’s perspective/discussion about the business side of things
People love to see the day to day…The guys and what you do in your time of, goofing around and whatever you want to film..What I mostly learned on all my years here on TH-cam is that’s about the people..And for people like me if you can learn a thing or two it’s a bonus..It’s like the old Gasmonkey days sure people watched for the builds but mostly they watch for the entertaining characters and how they work..
I would love to see more of the painting along with everything you already do. Specifically priming and getting sheet metal ready for paint, etc... Love the channel!!!
Here for the goofing around and the hot rod stuff final assembly type stuff... Your road trips are great with the rolling video... But i know those arent very often... I've been a fan of all of it... I wish to see more of the type videos now and then like those couple you did with the green ford and the blue C10... Those where RAD!!! Need a new one with the blue ford now... That vid doin the side to side burn out is SIK!!!
Would like to see Painting for the DIY. Maybe KC could paint a car with products from Eastwood's Paint Shop line and let us know what he thinks of them for someone wanting to paint their own car. I'd like to go from a good 20 footer to a real nice 6 footer if you know what I mean.
Ive been doing collision work for about 30 yrs now and dabble in the custom stuff after hours and have followed KC since the ol' tv days with RR. Would love to see a tutorial from start to finsih on a job. I know theres a zillion steps involved but could just touch base on the necessary steps and possibly do a more involved video on certain areas such as panel gapping, metal prep, bodywork and painting.
It'd be cool to timelapse the guys, with a voice over of what they see- and what they're doing to correct it. (Thinking of the actual work & process- body shop and fab) I think blake has some hidden knowledge bombs to drop, too. A segment to wiring, and solving a wiring problem would be cool. Maybe pick a guy each week, and have random timelapse of the process throughout their week. Segments on how each guy came to the shop (and why), or how they knew KC before.
KC the reason I bought 2 Sata 5500x guns was because I watched the video and as a painter it was super helpful, I really enjoy the channel and have followed for some years 😎👌 keep it up brother
I would like to see patina paint prep and clear and what you guys do for the really trouble spots. I know you guys really don't do this since most everything is a full build. Your guys' quality and craftsmanship are out of my price range and beyond my skills. I would like to see something that I could do in my own shop.
Love the ford truck builds…. Would love to see some sort of “budget friendly “ obs or even older ford builds with maybe a modern Godzilla swap or freshening up an obs with a 460 making it better without it being an insane amount of money
Just make an endless driftvideo 😊... your old vids were cool.. tutorials would be great.. som more out of the shop vids...keep up the great work.. regards from Denmark..
I would like to see once a car is painted and you knick a good chunk of the paint on a door edge or tailgate. How do you fix it? I would also like to see more of the interior of the dent side fords you have.
Having my gramps original 67 f250, I'd LOVE your perspective and process for saving paint and patina for the average guy in his garage. Maybe try different products on some junkyard doors/panels- get your opinion on them based on instructions, then give your spin on what you would do differently.
I have an old muscle car, I can’t afford to paint the hole thing, it’s decent old paint job. But it has some blistering and some peeling. Not a ton, not wild, but how can a do it yourself guy get it “good enough” with out going to crazy. Also, I’m in dfw if you need a sample vehicle, you know to practice on for all your followers!
As a new painter I’ve actually learned a lot from you’re videos. Especially that fat run you got that one day I bought that shark fin Dnib and that actually helps a ton. Along with the video on the sata phaser 5500 it was super nice
Have always loved what you and your shop do. I do my own paint and body work, I try to do my best and usually between 100-150 hrs I will spend to get the body right including glide coat etc. I’m pretty good with a paint gun but would like more process content for many of us who are not pro’s but those of us fairly handy and confident to try stuff. For example. Dent pulling, welding and paint sequence to do a large vehicle to keep the ‘wet edge’. Currently working on my 72 F100 bump side (I am addicted to those and have been for 40 years lol)
Even little stuff that seems trivial but just a short tech tip or something similar. Wiring a car? Best wires/connectors/ whatever that works for you guys. How to gap panels. How to adjust and finesse hinges. Best sanding or buffing pads. Tools that you've found that were cheaper that work as well or better than higher dollar brands. Maybe a shorter video once a month or something. Or a longer one with a few topics on the weeks that have a 5th Thursday in them. Like a bonus video just when it works out? All the other content is killer as well. Keep it up
Great channel. Love the content. You asked for suggestions on future videos. I’ve always wanted to see how wide/tall tires were fit on lowered cars. I’ve seen the that contraption that is adjustable but seen how it is put to use. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Yep, gapping panels, bondo and high build primer etc stages through all the blocking stages and grits you use until the body is ready for paint would be huge to see and learn.
I would like to see more of the process of buffing and color sanding. That would help the viewers understand how many hours it takes to complete just this process of a KILLER paint job. And more BURN OUTS!!!! PEACE ✌️
It’d be super cool to see some extensive content on different suspension building, different kinds, like watts link, 4 link, cantilever, and basics on suspension geometry.. a lot of shows don’t do much about that, like how you guess where shocks and coils should be and recommended shock travel length in accordance to how the rest of the suspension is built. 💯💯💯
I'd like to see a video on setting up a small home paint booth. not car size, but for spraying small stuff like motorcycles tanks/fenders, bicycles etc... Guns/Compressor and other things necessary to do an acceptable job at home.
With older patina vehicles the process and options for treating the paint are out there. What about 90s paint where there's more clear coat chalking and splitting. Is there anything for treating that to make it look cool but not repainted.
Paint a car for as cheap as possible Cheap gun Cheap air tank cheap booth Cheap paint And see how it turns out even when a master does it. Would be a great video and would be funny to see your reaction to how good or bad it comes out.
It would be cool to see techniques about painting or prepping stuff. It would be nice to see for some of the DIYers. Example I have a spoiler I need painted, but might be cool to do it myself if I knew how or even where to start.
So I definitely come for the hotroding more to see what the boys are doing looking @ how certain trucks are going together. I like the paint, it's gorgeous but I could really care less. Usually I just Don't ask questions but something actually came up today with the c-10 vent windows; maybe I could get an explanation how to get the old crusty rubber out of the vent window track that was probably glued in 60 some years ago and yes I got the screws out the size of a pencil tip
I won QnA were fan sent questions in. I won a t-shirt that was Frankin truck speed shop. You never posted a video of QnA video from those questions. I still have the shirt. Keep up the great work that you do for sweet looking cars and trucks.
I’ve been a fan of KC PAINT 🎨 SINCE GAS MONEY.. Thank you KC and Eric, it’s always entertaining!
Whats up KC. I think DIY tutorials are a good idea. I have a sand blasted 57 Bel air and curious to know what are the steps that follow on a journey to get the car ready for body work and paint. Love the content 👊🏽
It would be nice to have series of videos on individual cars from start to finish rather than random check-ins, the content is enjoyable but a little piecemeal
Tips on creating depth on show quality paint jobs. I mean more coats, adding pearlescent on a layer, is it purely prep and as simple as laying it down? Etc etc
I think that would be good. He was painting the 32 Ford today and did black with a pearlescent. It's always cool to see the process but I'd love to know the knowledge to go with it.
it would be interesting to see the first steps to tinting a color that isnt a great match like how do you start to get darker or lighter on a shade thats off i have been a happy user of BASF RM Diamont for a few decades and love love love the product
Cut and buff, start to finish along with what products you use. One question I have is how different clears cut? Are some harder or softer than others?
Loved the BASF video, def leaning on buying their product. The question is how does “a do it yourself” home car builder get ahold of it… Def enjoy watching all the painting techniques you share YT… 💯
That's a great question. I know KC gets paint shipped from BASF but I know on occasion when he has to paint something and he's out of a specific item he just gets them locally. I use to go into a place that's a chain here in the Fort Worth area called English Color and I'd pick it up. I'm sure you can reach out to any of your local automotive paint supply stores and see about it.
I’ve learned that I will never be able to afford paint unless I rattle can it myself. 🤣🤣😂 Maybe strip it and epoxy primer and leave it. 🤣🤣🤣😂 I remember when ppg dp40 or whatever code grey epoxy primer is, was the only thing out there for bare metal. That’s going back to the 90’s.
You asked about what content. I have question. So back in the day magazines pimped for PPG, articles in hot rod in the 90’s were I think written by PPG. Things like dp40 epoxy lead based primer that was bullet proof. Back then before it went to water based paint. So explain why BASF? Why are they better? Do they offer an epoxy primer that works as good as the old dp40 on bare metal. If you have covered this in a previous can you tell me what video it was. Thanks.
I can tell you that he's been using the crap out of them for years. I've gone with KC to SEMA a few times and the Kaeser Compressor people are so nice, it's no wonder he enjoys using their products. I'll make a note of that and ask him if theres any info he can give.
