  • These commercials aired on FOX on November 22nd, 1993
    1. KSHB Fox 41 Star Trek “Data” Hotline
    2. Fox Night At The Movies Intro: "Beethoven"
    3. "Beethoven" Intro (With Charles Grodin)
    4. TV Spot for "We're Back! A Dinosaurs Story" (I still have never seen this but props to the filmmakers for getting Walter Cronkite to do a voice for it!)
    5. Timex IndiGlo Watch
    6. Trident
    7. Schick Tracer Razor
    8. Saturn
    9. McDonald's Holiday Film Festival (We got the VHS tapes of "The Addams Family" and "Ghost" through this promotion)
    10. Promo for "The Simpsons" (This was a repeat of "Bart vs. Thanksgiving" from the second season originally aired in 1990)
    11. Promo for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze" (Weird to see a TMNT movie hosted by the Power Rangers. Basically the new fad presiding over the wake of the old fad that it replaced)
    12. TV Spot for "Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit"
    13. NFL Football '94 Starring Joe Montana (Considered by most to be the best entry in the Joe Montana Sports Talk Football game series and one of the better 16-bit football games period. Unlike the previous entries it had both NFL and NFLPA licenses so all teams/player rosters were accurate to that season)
    14. Toyota (With the voice of Martin Sheen)
    15. Certs
    16. Promo for "Roc" (A Fox series starring Charles S. Dutton that lasted for three seasons. I have absolutely no memory of this show but I really wasn’t watching Fox at prime time much back then besides “The Simpsons”)
    17. Promo for "Beverly Hills, 90210"
    18. Promo for "The Arsenio Hall Show"
    19. Coca Cola
    20. Ford Escort/Greater Kansas City Ford Dealers
    21. KSHB Station ID
    22. "Beethoven" Commercial Bumper
    23. Walt Disney World (8:37 they tend to show costumed characters going on rides in these ads as if it is a common thing that happens at Disney theme parks...it is extremely rare and only happens on a handful of the slower kid rides when they first open the park)
    24. Jeep/Eagle Dealers
    25. Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil
    26. True Value
    27. X-Men Video Packs at Pizza Hut
    28. Anacin
    29. Promo for "The Simpsons" and "The Sinbad Show" (At 11:35 is Salma Hayek, who made three small appearances on this show)
    30. "Beethoven" Interstitial (With Charles Grodin)
    31. Honda Accord EX Coupe
    32. TV Spot for "Addams Family Values"
    33. Sprite
    34. Promo for "Melrose Place"
    35. Promo for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze"
    36. KHSP FOX 41 Newsbreak (14:27 This was most likely a case of Guillain-Barré syndrome which can in very rare cases be caused by vaccination and in nearly all cases can be recovered from. Also, can you please hold the camera steady?)
    37. Promo for KHSP FOX 41 News (Marv Albert should have sued this guy for stealing his look)
    38. Southwestern Bell (I'm pretty sure the actress here is Rebecca Herbst)
    39. Santa's Arrival at Blue Ridge Mall PSA (Featuring Buster and Babs Bunny from "Tiny Toon Adventures" as special guests! Almost worth going to a mall on Black Friday!)
    40. "Beethoven" Commercial Bumper

Those polar bear coke commercials were great

These aired on the 30th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination. On a totally different note, a friend of mine growing up had a St. Bernard, and yes, he shed and drooled as much as Beethoven did. That kind of dog is a huge commitment.

We're Back is a very strange movie at war with itself. It partly wants to be a fun romp for kids, and it partly wants to be dark nightmare fuel. The movie was apparently heavily edited to get a G-rating, and was initially much darker. Anyone who watches it will always remember the final scene of the villain, Professor Screweyes, and the eerie and quiet way he exits the film.

TV Spot For “We’re Back! A Dinosaur’s Story”- While it’s not the best animated movie I’ve ever seen, it’s impressive to see the list of celebrities that they got to do voice acting in it, including Yardley Smith (The Voice of Lisa Simpson) and Julia Child, whom I would have never thought would do voice acting.
Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil- It’s so cute seeing how the dog in this commercial is so smart that, it can make school lunches for the puppies just like a human mother makes for her kids, even right down to waving goodbye to them as they leave in the end.
Coca Cola- Not only is the animation impressive in this commercial, but I like how very expressive they made the polar bear characters, without any dialogue.

3:49 - $6 to own those movies was an unbelievably low price for its time.

The thing that I find somewhat crazy about these VHS promotions is that from what I remember they were exactly the same as the retail VHS tapes except for the small McDonald's logos on the VHS label. For a price like that you'd expect a ton of McDonald's promotional content at the start.

I would have loved to have gone to WDW in the early 90s. Mainly because I would liked to have ridden the original 20K Leagues Submarine Voyage (Magic Kingdom) and Horizons (Epcot) rides.

The early 90's was basically the peak of Disney's theme park division; Disneyland was awesome back then too.

TMNT II hosted by the Power Rangers? Talk about a changing of the guard!
I always though of FOX as an "extreme" network in the early 90s but KSHB took it even to their news! Holy camera work!

I actually grew up with this McDonald's copy of Charlotte's Web at my grandma's. Had the McDonald's logo on the label and everything.

I'm disappointed that the Star Trek Data Hotline wasn't a phone number for lonely Star Trek fans to connect with an android, like those dating phone line commercials that have been posted numerous times on this channel.

Great content. Most of the commercials have amazing volume. A lot of the old commercials lack the volume you need to clearly hear on your phone, so i totally appropriate the volume.

All of the audio on my videos is normalized to be as loud as possible without clipping or distortion.

Addams Family Values is a truly underrated sequel. Much funnier and darker than the first, and it's a shame we never got a third film with this cast, due to Raul Julia's failing health and that the second film was a disappointment at the box office compared to the first.

I was gonna say, how did they make, like, six Beethoven's
Then I remembered it probably cost about $5 to make

The budget for "Beethoven's 2nd" was $15 million, which was pretty low at the time.
Even though it performed well, that was the last movie in the series to be released to theaters. "Beethoven's 3rd" starring Judge Reinhold was released to video seven years after this in 2000.

I liked those folksy Saturn commercials. I have not seen that one in a long time.
I remember when "Roc" did the whole season live. A few prime time shows tried that in the 1980s and 1990s like "Gimme a Break" and "E.R."

KSHB Fox 41 Star Trek “Data” Hotline-Kids,get your parent's permission before calling
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze-the movie where Vanilla Ice stole the show 🤣 also the Turtles would later team up with the Power Rangers on a memorable episode of the"In Space" series
Roc-show was better when it switched to the live format
Beverly Hills, 90210-that Thanksgiving gathering already looked awkward..had Brandon invited Emily there it wouldve been even worse 😱
    Coca Cola-classic ad
The Sinbad Show-also featured Ray J in a early role
    Addams Family Values-R.I.P Raul Julia
    Melrose Place-Alison"..well,nice knowing you then,Billy."
KHSP FOX 41 Newsbreak-promo cameraman mustve had one of those shots..kept expecting the reporter to ask"You okay there..?"

It was panned by critics at the time and wasn't nearly as successful as the first movie at the box office. Wikipedia claims that many regard it as a "cult classic" these days but I'm skeptical.

    • @fossefan
      @fossefan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@80sCommercialVault I'm also skeptical about the overall "cult classic" claim, even if it is fun to see pre-fame Lauryn Hill and "Love" Hewitt. Plus, the rendition of "Joyful Joyful" did have some staying power in Catholic school/show choir circles.

IIRC, the main reason why Whoopi signed on was in exchange of the studio financing her passion project at the time, "Sarafina".
